  1. Also I'm on soft food diet now and get hungry with in a few hours of eating my 2oz
  2. I had my surgery 8 days ago and had been on a liquid diet since. Today I had a follow up with my surgeon and nut. Nut asked if I was having any problems with the Protein and I said no between Protein shakes and oikos triple 0 i was getting a good amount. She said eating a hole oikos triple 0 was over 2x the amount i should be eating at once. She moved me to soft foods and said keep it to 1/4 a cup per (2oz) meal and drink a shake for a snack. Kind of worried when I read people 2-3 weeks out of surgery saying they have a hard time getting 2oz in and its easy for me. Is it possible to stretch you sleeve that quick? Thanks
  3. So my surgeons office called and told me they're ready to submit but I first needed to pick a surgery. I still wasn't ready so they said I should schedule an appointment to talk with the surgeon. So far I've only spoke to his nurse practitioner. So I see him next week.
  4. I would think all things equal everyone would get the sleeve. If it was a simple as just diet and exercise no surgery would be needed.
  5. Anyone a year out or longer start at 500 lb?
  6. Anyone here start around or at 500 lbs.? I'm currently 480 and 5' 11". My goal would be to be at 200 lb. in 2 years with a stretch goal of 170 lb. Are these possible with the sleeve? Or would I be better off with a bypass. Has anyone here done something similar? Thanks
  7. my high weight is 481. So I'm worried with the sleeve I'd only be able to get down to 300. I'm really planning on working hard and getting below 200 for the first time since middle school.
  8. I had to wait about 6 months to move forward due to my insurance not covering and having to wait for new year to switch to my wife's. For the longest time I was set on getting the sleeve. Seemed easier to have done, less time off and easier to live with (i.e. less absorption problem, less Vitamin and more flexible diet.) and provided similar weight loss. Then I spoke to a girl I went to school with and she had bypass. She said she felt the dumping syndrome helps and that being able to eat more things would make it harder to maintain. At my first doctors meeting nurse practitioner said based on big weight loss swings I've had and that and that you get a little more bang out of the bypass (I'm about 300 lb over idea BMI weight) that it would probably be better for me. I'm still worried about making the wrong choice. There are certain medications I'd like to take and may not be able to (ADHD meds.) Plus its seems like a more intimidating surgery. So did anyone else have this issues and or fears and how did you decide or over come them? Thanks
