  1. Kartman. There is so much that is not known about all this. I just wish I had started exercising from the beginning of this journey and I think my RMR wouldn't be so low. I want to cut my calories to below my RMR to lose some weight, but was told not to. I think there's more research needs to be done in this area! Good luck - seems like you are headed in the right direction.
  2. Kartman: Thanks for responding. Sounds like you really have it all figured out. However, once you know your RMR, "they" say not to let your calories fall below that number or you'll lose muscle. I noticed that you are eating considerably less than your RMR. I'm eating 100 calories above my RMR and not losing any weight. Do you think it's okay to eat less as long as you are exercising?
  3. Kartman: I have the resting metabolism and VO2 rate dones last weekend which showed my resting metabolic rate was just 1080 cal. I knew it was going to be low since I lost weight on very limited calories and not much exercise. What is the VO2 rate - do you know? Was your RMR low too?
  4. Thanks gtrdone - I'll search that thread!
  5. Thanks for the running tip. Were you very heavy when you started out? I've never run before, but would like to get started. I'm 4 years out from the lap band surgery, but I'm just starting to excercise. That was a BIG mistake! I'm just afraid I'm too heavy to run. I've got about 35 pounds to goal. Any suggestions?
