My sleeve surgery is scheduled for February 3.
I was supposed to have sleeve surgery on October 21 but wound up being diagnosed with kidney cancer in Sept. The cancer was completely removed in October and I got the all clear from the kidney surgeon to proceed with the sleeve surgery.
I go for preadmission testing and a last consult with the bariatric surgeon on Jan 14. At that time ill find out what kind of pre-op diet I need.
I'm glad to have found this group!

Update - sleeve surgery rescheduled for February 3. I'm doing great from the kidney surgery and looking forward to my sleeve surgery a month from tomorrow.

Hey everyone! 1st post on BP. I was approved by insurance on Wednesday, I go in to orientation Tuesday then I start my pre-op classes Thursday. ...no surgery date yet, but it'll be late Jan or early February. I'm so excited, nervous and quite frankly, sacred crap less

Welp, the monthly support forum has not been updated for 2016. I know there's a thread somewhere for December & January sleevers, but thought I'd include you January peeps in honor of the upcoming year. Share your dates, doctor/nut/psych visits, tests, hopes, and whatever else you want to share pertaining to your surgery. Feel free to offer encouragement and cheerleading as warranted. Maybe everyone can link up with some sleeve buddies!
I'll start. I have 100 to 130 pounds to lose (no goal set yet). My sleeve was supposed to be in January. Instead, my husband needs to go out of the country on business in the middle of the month and can't guarantee he'll be back, so I'll probably be sleeved in February. It's frustrating to me because my insurance requires 6 months supervised diet. I finished that the week before Thanksgiving (U.S.) I'm scheduled to attend the final "class" they require all patients to take on Dec. 17. My endoscopy is Jan. 13. I could easily have made it in December, but hubby didn't want me restricted over the Holidays. (I had thyroid surgery with complications last year just before Christmas, so I understand how he feels.) Still, you can imagine my frustration now that my surgery needs to be pushed back again!

sorry for all your pain, problems
glad "they" were able to get rid of the solid mass on your kidney
for now, take care of yourself
surgery of course is serious
do everything the doc tells you
I'm sure you realize your kidney issue is much more important than the sleeve
having WLS now, doesn't hold a candle to all your problems you are dealing with
when doc says its ok to be sleeved - great
but don't be in a hurry
take care of yourself

It just hit me again today my surgery is only 8 weeks away. Ian so ready to start this journey. I went to a lighthouse today with my family and of course took pics. When I got home I almost don't recognize myself I am so heavy it makes me so sad it's not how I feel inside. I can't wait for my inner me to match my outer me. As afraid as I am at times of this surgery itself I am so ready for the ride and the new beginning to come. October 13 i hope... I'm glad to have support and hear your stories of courage on this site. It is more support than I recieve at home and the only place I know people understand and share my same thoughts and feelings. I'm glad to see so many Fall surgery buddies! I have had a little glitch, had a shadow on my nuclear stress test from cardilogist. I only had the stress test because I have some chest aches, I don't think they do it routinely? Anyway, now I have to have a cardiac cath on 9/15 to make sure it's nothing. Apparently, it could be a shadow from big boobs - go figure!! Hoping it's nothing so I can schedule my gastro EGD right afterwards and keep my November 4 surgery date!!!

I'm having my surgery in NJ with Dr. Chau.

After a week full of non-stop battle, Cigna has decided to make right of their error. I can't think you all enough for your comments and suggestions. You all are the best!!

I got my approval from my PCP and the pysch evaluation. I have one nutritional appointment left and my endoscopy is tomorrow.
As long as the endoscopy goes well and insurance approves it. October 21 is the date! I'm happy to find others having their surgery around the same time.
