  1. Hey all!! So I got my surgery date, February 24th!! So excited and also a little nervous. I know I'm making the best decision for not only myself, but also my 15 month old son. I'm also getting my hiatal hernia repaired during my sleeve surgery. Anyone else have theirs repaired and know if it affected the length of their recovery time? My husband works crazy hours and I have some help from my mother and sister in law but I'm a little nervous about how long The recovery time will be since I'm a stay at home Mom.

    same day as spouse?

Yeah, as long as they're not toddlers and you have some extra hands coming in to help a bit, I say go for it as a team!
  3. Thank you both for the encouraging words! The anticipation and excitement is too much to handle! After battling my weight my whole life (I'm 30 now), I'm ready for a new chapter. I will keep encouraging hubs and try not to get too sensitive to his comments. Men don't always know how to express their feelings! Looking forward to updates from you both after surgery!
  4. Hey all! New to this forum but thought I'd reach out. I'm going to see my surgeon on Friday for my Pre-op visit and surgery date, which will most likely be in February. I'm super excited (a little nervous) and looking forward to getting healthy so I can be active with my 1 year old son. I have a little bit of a unique situation, my husband is also getting sleeved. He's a little behind me because he hasn't been sticking to his plan and actually gained weight between his fifth and sixth appointment and the surgeon decided that he would not operate on my husband until he proves that he is taking this seriously. Ever since my husband got the news that he would have to wait and we wouldn't be sleeved around the same time, he has gotten kind of sour towards me about my surgery and making jealous comments about the fact that I'm going to be scheduled and he has to wait. Is anyone else going through opposition or negativity from their spouses or significant others?

    same day as spouse?

We were planning on having it done the same day (although here in the states) however, hubs surgery has been slightly pushed back. My surgeon said that the pro's are that you both will be on the same stage at the same time which will make everything easier. The con's are if you have small children to care for or a spouse that maybe needs a little more babying during recovery. I'd say , if it's just the 2 of you to worry about, get it over with at the same time!
  6. I am February also!! Glad you enjoyed your holidays, even if it wasn't exactly what you were hoping for. I know that waiting is frustrating. I also had to do the 6 months of supervised dieting. I have my pre-op visit on Friday so I'm sure I'll be starting my pre-op diet and all of that! Excited to find other people on a similar schedule to mine!!
