Awesome! What an inspiration! I don't know if I'll be wearing a bikini EVER but I would like to do a 5K and who knows maybe eventually a marathon...

Surgery Date: 08/05/15
High Weight -- 310
Surgery Weight -- 268
Current Weight -- 220
I feel better than I have in years!!!!! Love going shopping; down from a 26/28 to a 16/18! Love crossing my legs, not worrying about fitting in a booth at restaurant, tying my shoes, eating like a skinny person, having lots more energy!
Best thing I have every done for myself!

Congratulations! I too, am at my lowest weight in over 20 years. It feels great!
-
Good to hear that you're doing better!
-
It will get better. Give yourself some time. Each day will get a little better and by 10 days out you should be feeling pretty good. Keep sipping and walking.
-
Stalls are completely normal. I stalled at 3 weeks post op for almost 2 weeks. Very frustrating but it will pass and you WILL start losing again. Just stick to the plan.
-
Good for you! I can't wait to get there!

You look amazing!

At week 3 I was on pureed foods. I was eating pureed chicken with broth mixed in, cottage cheese w/applesauce, pureed beef stew cooked very tender, well cooked and pureed veggies, scrambled eggs, pureed or mashed Beans, etc. Nothing seemed to bother me, but the denser the Protein the less I could eat of it. Cottage cheese went down way easier than beef stew. I even pureed Wendy's chili.

Hang in there! It does get better! I'm 8 weeks post op and everything is great opposed to those first few weeks. You're going to love it when you see the weight start coming off and you WILL start feeling better.
-
Hang in there. Once you starting eating food, you will get full so fast on your Protein and vegetables you won't want anything else. During my first couple of weeks I never felt "full" because of all the nerves in my stomach being cut and just the healing process. But when you start to eat, it's totally different. And you'll find new, healthy foods you love!

I miss drinking from a straw! And I miss French fries...what I don't miss:
Not being able to fit in a booth at a restaurant.
Not being able to cross my legs.
My size 26 pants (down to 16/18! Yay!)
Not needing a seat belt extender on a plane.
My blood pressure & diabetes medicine.
.....I'm sure there's more but these just popped in my head!
-
I had that too, but I did have an incision there.

For about a week/week and a half after surgery for me, but not the maximum dose.

What happened to following your doctor's/NUT's orders? I've been instructed absolutely no alcohol until 6 months post op. To me, it's not worth taking a chance on eating/drinking something I'm not supposed to. And if you're "cheating" two weeks post op what will you be doing month's out? Make sure you're dedicated to the process. We all want success right?

This is not a decision to be taken lightly for sure. I'm a true foodie with a big family that likes to eat together ALL the time. For me it came down to how I want to live the rest of my life. After struggling for 30 plus years with my weight, I know that once I get the weight off, I will feel better, look better and have more energy than I can ever remember. I will probably never have some of my favorite foods again, others I will have a limited amount of, and I will develop some new favorite foods. Hang in there and decide what is best for you!

I've lost 17 since my surgery on Aug 5th, but seem to have hit a stall the last couple of days. Doesn't bother me because I've read everyone's warnings on here and knew to expect it.

Just started pureed foods yesterday and after the two week pre-op diet and two week post-op full liquids everything I've had so far has been delicious!
Soft scrambled egg with low fat American cheese
Cottage cheese w/applesauce
chicken cooked in the crock pot with a packet of Italian dressing mix; pureed with some broth.
Pureed chicken with light mayo, Dijon mustard
Pureed peas and ham
Definitely getting full feeling from the pureed foods much more than I did from full liquids. Can barely do 2 oz of chicken at a time and that's with nothing else with it.
Loving life though! No regrets!
Loved everyone's suggestions!

You're body is probably just adjusting. Don't freak out. You'll be ok.

Just overnight for me. I had no complications, very little nausea and no vomiting. Thank the lord!

My NUT said wait 6 months, but I had a shot of tequila at 4 months at my daughters engagement party! Didn't bother my stomach, but boy did I get tipsy!
