  1. @@Lemm61 Good idea on taking off before surgery. I am Tuesday, June 7, so taking off the Monday before, plus the weekend to make sure my house is ready and I am rested for surgery. Want to give myself every chance for success. No pre-op diet, so just eating healthily, with a few scattered food funerals. Good luck with your bedroom reno - post pics when you can.
  2. I was trying to think of the last time I felt this nervous and excited at the same time. I realized it was every major lif event - graduation, wedding, childbirth. Being on the brink of a new life is both fearful and exciting. I'm so grateful for this chance at a new life. My goal is to feel comfortable in my body.
  3. I am getting very nervous. I start my 2week liquid diet in a little over 24 hrs, and am worried about my resolve there. How are you doing? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App I'm one of the lucky ones - my surgeon doesn't require pre-op diet. Trying to keep busy to distract myself from the fact that we are just 2 weeks away. I'm both nervous and excited. Good luck to all of us!
  4. @@AmysShrinking and @Anilyn I am 64 and have struggled with depression all my life. I'm currently very stable on Cymbalta. My research shows that I should be OK continuing with Cymbalta after surgery - but until I live it, it's hard to believe. Keeping fingers crossed for all of us
  5. @@Twuzzy, you and I have the 7th! Are you starting to get nervous?
  6. Congratulations on your courage and willingness to take care of yourself!
  7. @@Shaunie - My insurance took about 2 weeks to respond and they initially covered the bypass, but denied coverage for the band removal. My surgeon's office contacted them immediately and within 1 week they reversed their decision and covered the band removal as well. Basically, the person reviewing the claim made a mistake and they corrected it. Good look with your insurance approval and setting a date for surgery.
  8. I have only told my immediate family and none of them live nearby. They all love me the way I am. They think this is an extreme solution, but are willing to support me - for which I am grateful. .
  9. Have you tried Smooth Move Tea?
  10. I'm June 7. Revising from lap-band which was removed on March 16. The process has taken well over a year. It feels a little surreal now that it's really getting close.
  11. I'm concerned as well. Had band removed 3/16. Conversion to bypass scheduled for June 7, I see the success of others, and that gives me hope. I know I wasn't losing with the band...and I know I wasn't losing before the band. All I can do is give it my best effort.
  12. I am June 7. Revising from band to bypass. Had the band out in March and looking forward to finally losing weight for good! Good luck to us!
  13. My experience was similar - I was approved for the bypass, but denied for the band removal. My surgeon's office called the insurance company, submitted the paperwork a second time and I was approved. Keep at it! Best of luck to you.
  14. Evil Ziggy Has your doc done other reivisions, or are you the first? If so, is that a concern for you?
  15. I am a band to bypass revision and my surgeon requires the 3 month wait between removing the band and doing the bypass.
  16. I totally understand how hard it is to do something you are not motivated to do. A question that comes to mind - could this be self-sabotage? Now that your goal is becoming a reality, are you afraid of succeeding?
  17. I have an office job and am takng three days. Surgeon said some could do band removal on Friday and go back to work on Monday. I'm 64 and didn't see that being wise for me.
  18. I am a 2 step revision. My band was placed in 2010 and was a problem from the start. My surgeon is removing it this week. We will wait 12 weeks for things to heal and revise to bypass in June.
  19. I am having my lap band out next week and will have my bypass surgery in June. Excited and nervous!
  20. I'm getting the Error 502 Bad Gateway indicating a Host Error (Website offline) when I try to read the thread - Gastric Bypass Forums - Sixties - No one in the sixties? started by GrannyKathy on Oct 8, 2012. Thanks
  21. I am so sorry you are so miserable. Remember, losing weight may release hormones and that could affect your mental health. Please seek both mental and physical help for your pain.
