Anyone else living with a person with mental illness? How do you keep focused on your health?
@@OKCPirate I'm sorry to hear about the struggles. I have so much respect for you for taking such great care of your kiddos. I can't imagine how touch it must have been to do all you did. You are a good man!! My sister is suicidal. I say is because she has tried it, has since gotten a lot better, but I am not fooled into thinking it will never happen again. You said you thought your ex wife could have BPD. Did she have a traumatic childhood? I am just curious. I have always had a strong interest in mental disorders, thus, majoring in psychology, then changing it to a minor and certification to teach it. I am just thrilled that you are truly happy now.

NSV: Hit the Spa, fully NUDE
@@NewSetOfCurves what a thrill for you! Your story made me laugh. I could just picture it in my mind. I love what he said to you to relax you. Also, I want to tell you that you are a huge motivator for me. Before I had kids, my oldest will be 21 next month, I was in tip top shape. I played racquetball since I was 18, played tournaments in a couple of states competitively for money. Don't get excited, I only won a little money haha. Money brought out the best players, even the pros. There were years I played seven days a week. Every muscle in my body was solid. Man how I miss that. You motivate me to get to the gym and get after it. I have done some walking but that's it. I wanna start weights too. I wish you could reach through my phone and shake your finger at me and get my ass in gear! You look absolutely wonderful and congrats on your hard, hard, work. I have gotten massages for years. I LOVE them. My shoulders are as tight as tight can be and I have been told that many times. Being nude didn't bother me cuz I enjoyed my massage so much. I didn't care. I am a member of the Y here and love to hot tub. I go naked, however I am the only woman who does usually. There is normally only one or two women there, if that many. I knew I needed to lose weight and I knew hot tubs are meant to be used naked. ALL the men are naked always. It just never bothered me. I am 7 weeks post op and have lost 33 lbs. the only reason I am skeptical now is that my stomach scars look really purple now. Who knows if I'll even go soon. Maybe I'll try on my suit and be like them haha Thank you for the story. You make me want to go to the gym right now!!!!!!

could not wait to post this
@@sbg224 I am so excited for you! I did it not too long ago. I remember seeing those numbers and being so very thrilled! I am very happy for you. I have had an ACL reconstruction and a partial knee replacement. Both times in rehab the therapist had me on the stationary bike to work on range of motion. Do you do that? I know both times I actually lost weight and I think it was the bike that did it. How is your knee by the way? Seems you are still having some pain. My aunt had one a few months ago and on day four, she answered her door with no crutches. She hadn't been on them except for one or two days, if that. Shocked me? I was on them a while if I remember correctly. Rehab has really advanced. Were you on crutches? Good luck with everything!!!

CRAZY Hair Loss!
Geez. That is a big concern of mine. Hope if it does happen, it's not horrible. I lost quite a bit when I used voltaren on my neck. It is not approved for neck and spine but I have major neck issues and it made my tingling stop. I know. Not the best decision of mine. I don't want to lose anymore. Oh well. So be it if it does.

Post Surgery People - How to make those first weeks post-op easier?
since i was to be on a clear liquid diet for 2 weeks post op, i bought a few bottles of Isopure, canned broth, and some sugar free popsicles. i had no pain to speak of really and had no issues, so there is nothing else i wish i had done. i was able to get up and do everything for myself without a problem. my bed is one that you can adjust to sit up in so i stayed there for several days. i kept my Water on my nightstand. i watched a lot of tv and got up and walked around the house quite a bit.

Are you excited about 2016?
HELL to the YA!!!!! my surgery was november 17 and since the beginning of the process i am down 31 pounds. wish it were more....im stuck right now, but i know it will move right along. this is the year i get skinny!!!!!! i am so very excited. excited to be skinny and get to compete in racquetball again. i want to start playing tournaments again. i want to whip this girls ass who beat me two years in a row about 3 years ago. i will be much smaller than her and i will OWN her LOL!!!! losing is not my forte, unless it is weight

Gotta get this off my chest ...
It definitely was a compliment. Many people are not well versed and it is a huge thing that the knuckle draggers actually thought to give a compliment. I'm sure they meant well and maybe that was the best they could do. @@Dub I love that you are a knuckle dragger too. Geez that made me laugh.

Struggling with pre op diet
what exactly can you have on your pre op diet?
-
Aetna TRS
i have aetna TRS. my email address is midlandrhonda@gmail.com if you email me, i can send you the policy document that i used stating the requirements. i had a choice of a 6 month diet, etc, or a 3 month pre surgery regimen. i chose the latter. it seems overwhelming, but it's not. most of that is handled through the nutritionist. do you have a $5000 bariatric surgery co pay? i did. the doc i chose, whose is absolutely incredible, and his office staff, only made me pay $2000 of that.
-
Aetna ***
Btw paid the first two grand with my health savings card and paying hospital off monthly. Got the rest from savings.
-
Aetna ***
I have a bariatric surgery co pay of $5000 but my doc only made me pay $2000 of that. My doc required EGD $1100, sleep study, $1000, cardiac clearance about $150, hospital about $3000 so right at $7000. I got gap insurance this year, first year offered, and I don't think its thru Aetna. I will have paid $600 for the year but I will get back $2500 cuz I stayed a night. So my personal total will be about $5500.

How long on clear liquids?
I was sent home on 2 week clear liquid diet. The next 2 weeks were full liquids.
-
Aetna ***
I have Aetna TRS. After my office submitted paper work, it took about 3 days for them to approve. I started calling immediately. Had I not, I would have received a letter about two and a half weeks later. I am glad I did not sit around and wait. According to the details of my plan (I had a choice of a three or six month deal) I had to do a Lo cal diet, exercise regimen, nutritionist visits, etc. It is ultimately the nutritionist who submits the most important details...the exercise regimen, the diet, behavior modification. Make sure your nutritionist is one who works with a bariatric doctor. The doctors office should know exactly what is needed. I kept questioning mine but man, they knew exactly what they were doing!!!! I was very frustrated with Aetna at first because of all the hoops. It overwhelmed me. They really came through for me.
