First of all, I am so sorry for your loss and that you are going through a tough time. Good for you for not being "too proud" to get some help! I'm sorry you guys didn't have better food being offered to you. I know, I am guilty of this too, of going through the pantry to donate to our local church and picking either things I'm not a big fan of, or all the unhealthy sweet "treats" thinking that I was being nice because "they probably don't get much of these" type mentality. Next time I donate, I'm going to do better. Thanks for reminding me that nutrition is important in donations too!

    One more thing.....
My Dr. asked me what was my heaviest weight...I said "You're asking me?"...what does it say in my file"
He held up my file and said "See how thin this file is? And it's 2 years old....you're old file was way to thick and heavy, too cumbersome to handle, so it has been archived..."
I thought that sounded pretty cool....Archived...so goes my old life...archived. Working now with only the new, thinner.

It will change your life forever, the first couple of days were tough for me, but honestly after that and going home, the overwhelming hope and optimism for my future, my longer and better life, took over, now at 14 weeks post, am SO GLAD that I did this....thinking about you today!!! WAY TO GO!

Congratulations! I don't think I was 125 since like 4th grade maybe! I can't imagine how good it feels to reach that goal! So glad for you!

I can't believe it! I am now 125 pounds. What I weighed in high school. Thinner than I was in high school. I am so happy and so much healthier. I hit a road block at 140. I stayed there for six months. I was still happy at that weight. Then all the sudden I started losing again. Kind of scared me. Went to doctor and had helacobator pylori. No biggie. Nothing wrong. The only problems I have is stomach aches. Which I know I cause myself. Still struggle with eating to fast, to much, and not chewing enough. Surgery so worth it!

I can't really get to a pool. We have one about aisle away at the Rec center but I can't take my children and go there and by the time my husband gets home it's closed so whatever I do I have to be able to do at home and with kids all about. That's why walking is great. They are starting to enjoy our "forced death marches" as my oldest calls them. LOL I let my body tell me how far we make it on the walks, but I also make goal posts to aim for. Like the first week, I aim at 3 houses down(we are tuna packed tight in our subdivision). Each day I aimed a little farther. Until I just realized wow, I made it that far and I'm still alive! LOL I have to adjust my times to walk though since school has started and the neighborhood bus driver keeps trying to kidnap my kids(we homeschool)! Haha

So I've been REALLY putting in a good fight to lose weight going into surgery and to change my old habits NOW so that it's not so foreign afterwards. In June, I could barely walk across my house without having to sit down. 2 weeks ago, I nearly died going around the block and yesterday, I walked 2 miles! Seriously my heart was pounding out of my chest and I was coughing like a 50yr smoker when I got home(if home counts as the front lawn and my fat ass laying on it like a fish pulled out of a lake LOL), but I was so proud! I walked 2 miles!!!! At this rate I wonder if I can get to light jogging even before my surgery(I wish!)

    Awesome !
That's how you OWN it. Doing that exercise will lead to greater discipline in the kitchen, too.
    Great job.
Be careful and keep after it.
Consistent daily walks are better for.you than sporadic Herculean efforts that leave you hurting and unable to do anything for a day or two. I learned this the hard way.

Thanks everyone! I was so proud of myself I wanted to scream it from the rafters(but all I could do was sign it for the first 20 mins LOL) today was a little better still a gasp and cough, but I was a little faster. My knees aren't too happy with me though. Tonight they basically screamed at me to not go for the night time walk. I took an Epsom salt soak instead and hope to get going again tomorrow morning.

Sajijoma got a reaction from Alex Brecher in What Do You Think About the Gastric Balloon?
I've seen it used on the show Fat Doctor in the UK for patients who needed to drop weight to be able to qualify for surgery. It did seem to help them in the short run, but I can't see this being a viable option for losing weight long term. In the end, how is this any different than Liposene or konjack root "belly fillers". They work great short term in filling the belly, but for me at least, the moment I quit them I gained every pouf back and they got married and had a few children along the way! ???? I think it just won't ever work as anything substantial other than a guided weight loss to move on towards something more permanent.
