  1. I had my first fill today. It went fine. I had it under fluro. My doctor overfills it and then has you drink to let you know how it fills when you are obstructed. It hurt. He then lets it out. I only got 1.6 cc fill today. He likes to be conservative. On top of that I have lost 20 lbs post-op and 20 lbs preop. I am on liquids until supper tomorrow nite. I just don't know what to eat first. I am scared to get obstructed.
  2. I go for my first adjustment on Monday. I can't eat of drink for two hrs prior. DR Mc does it under fluoro. I am very nervous. How did some of you transition back into eating food. What did you eat after the first intial couple of days of liquids?
  3. Be sure and find out if DR Jones is contracted with BCBS, if he is he will have to write off whatever he is contracted with BCBS. Dr McAlexander is contracted and had to write off some of what he charged.
  4. My insurance pays 4000 at 50%. Dr. McAlexander has care credit that you can apply for. I borrowed part of my money. It is about 5000 up front. part to surgeon and part to hosp. SBMC requires it be paid upfront.
  5. I pray my fill goes that easy. I have just got to drop some old habits I had picked up again!
  6. I am getting my first fill on Monday. I am so nervous about what I won't be able to eat now!
  7. I had my banding on 12/19/07 by Dr McAlexander in Arkansas. I go for my first fill next Monday. I am very nervous because I have noticed I can eat a lot more now that the swelling has gone down. I am worried it will fill like it did right after surgery. I know I need to do a couple of days of liquids after fill, but what to eat after that I wonder????
  8. I have been wondering about being able to eat more than I thought I would. I know I have not had a fill yet. But it makes me wonder if my pouch is too big?
  9. I know I'm new at this but, what causes band slippage?
  10. Thanks so much for the welcome.
  11. I am from Arkansas and we have a restaurant here named Colton's, they have the best potato soup. I had that today for lunch. I can tell now I am 11 days post-op now that I can hold more. I almost ate the whole bowl. I did really good Christmas, I did not cheat at all . I was on clear liquids and sat at the table and watched my family eat. It was very hard, but I have a very suppportive family. I am ready for mushies. I can't have for another week.
  12. I go back to work on Monday. I think I am ready. I am getting kinda bored.
  13. I had surgery the sam day! I am ready to be past this liquid phase!
  14. That is great! Congrats on the mushies!
  15. Feeling pretty well. I think I have hit what they all "bandster hell". The swelling has gone down and the true hunger sets in. Where you want to eat everything you wish you could get your hands on! How about you?
