  1. I agree with Band07. I had my surgery with Dr. Rodriguez 3 months ago and it was a great experience. Dr, Rod and his staff were very informative and very professional. I did pay more, but I felt completely safe with Dr. Rod. I also choose Star Medica as my hospital because I liked the fact that it was a full hospital with a blood bank and an ICU if there were complications.
  2. You really can't walk enough. I had very few complications, but I walked all the time. When I was nauseous I walked, gas, walked, hungry, walked. It seemed to take care of most of the complications. The incisions were painful about day 4. I am guessing the pain block wore off. Sitting up in bed is not fun, but give it about 4-5 days and it will be gone. Good luck.
  3. I use the app myplate. Both are great apps.

I just had my surgery on July 17th and went by myself. It was great. I was at Star Medica and the nurses were fabulous. They helped me out of bed the first time I walked, they helped me shower the first time and were extremely responsive if I needed anything. I did have my phone with Google Spanish if I needed something they did not understand. They had at least one nurse on each shift that was bilingual, so that helped. They had a safe for me to lock up my passport and purse, so I did not feel unsafe. I am willing to share anything else about my experience if you have further questions.
