Exercise
Start walking as soon as you can. I wasn't able to do any weight training/aerobic type exercise until 8 weeks post op. (I also had a hernia repair) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Calorie intake so low now... What will happen when can eat real stuff?
At this stage, I do think you're worrying too much about numbers. I had surgery on Jan 12. My calorie goal is between 650-800. My nut said anymore than that I will quit losing. Your major focus should be your Protein intake. My protein goal is 100 gr. As well as keeping your liquid intake to 64 oz. Ideally your protein should come from food..not shakes. However at this stage I can eat so little, I have to incorporate shakes into my day. This may last a while for you as well.

I'm freezing cold ever since surgery!
I am extremely tired. I kept hearing about the surge of energy that people get when they lose weight and after 50+ lbs I am still waiting. They said that is also a sign of low Iron. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Mention something to your surgeon. They may do a iron level check. I too am cold all The time and my iron was 1 pt away from needing an infusion.

The struggle is real
Did you look into going to Mexico? Their guidelines are a lot more relaxed than those of Drs in the states.

Clothes Shopping
To be honest... I tried shopping at goodwill. I became overwhelmed with the over packed racks. I couldn't find much But I did end up buying buy 2 shirts and a dress. I went to Jc penny's and kohls. I got a pair of nice shorts, cropped pants and 3 shirts. Mix and match I have a couple different nice outfits. Watch for coupons and the sales, buy what makes you feel good.

How do I ask my doctor?
My old PCP wasn't on board. I asked her years ago to help me with WLS. I didn't know anything about the process. When I knew this is what I wanted, I found a new Dr. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

How plus size stores rip us off!
Looking at the website penningtons seems to be a department store. Something like Lane Bryant.. Far different than Walmart. I always felt that plus size clothes at Walmart looked like table cloths or curtains.. I'd pay more to have stylish clothes that made me feel good wearing them. I don't think they are ripping us off but I do think the industry lacks in providing decent clothing for plus sizes.

Day 6 Post Op
I loved meat loaf and mashed potatoes when I was on the puréed stage. Pretty much anything my family was eating I tired. I put it in my mini chopper and ate. I also loved Shelly's ricotta bake. We are learning what foods we can eat post surgery so try everything. You'll find that you don't like some of your old favorites and develope new tastes. Two of the things I don't care for now is chicken and tuna. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Frustrated and confused :(
I'm just outside of 4 months post op and my calorie goal is 650-800. But I agree with KristenLe, this early on concentrate on your Protein and Water intake and don't force food. The overeating will make you feel miserable. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Two Questions, if you please :)
1. I only had them in the hospital but the only thing I remember is my stomach being tender because I had to have so many. The nurse seem to hit the same spot 2. I used a mini chopper..($14-20). I couldn't go without one. But with the mini chopper, I use it all the time for other things. Chopping onions for one..(no crying) and chopping nuts and more. Hair loss - Help?
I saw my Nut today and she said there isn't anything we can do to prevent hair loss. It is a side effect from the rapid weight loss. She said that we should be getting 90 grams of Protein a day to promote regrowth. My Iron was 1 pt away from being low so she did put me on a supplement. This should help me with being cold and tired as well Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Leading up to my death?
I think it's normal to have concerns going into any major surgery. I do not know anyone who died from WLS but know someone who came close to it. He didn't follow his post op directions and developed a bleeding ulcer. He spent about 2 weeks in the hospital. Instances are rare and this situation was of his own doing. I had prayer with my family before surgery and had complete peace. I was so excited to start my new life knowing death was a real possibility if I DIDN'T have surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
