  4. I see you're about a week out from surgery. During this time liquid goes down easy and your really don't feel the restriction till you are on more solid food. Don't stress over it now. When you're off liquids It's important not to eat till you feel full but till you're satisfied. Measure and weigh everything you eat and stick to your plan. This is all new and you will learn the read the signs your body gives you. Everyone is different Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. My dad also has Gerd and his esophagus is deteriorating. It went untreated for years. (you know.. the tough guy syndrome) Now he has to be on a strong PPI to help it. I hope 7/1 gives you some relief. Best wishes for you. @ let us know what the Dr says. Glad your were able to get some rest.

  7. My pain got so bad at times I thought I was having a heart attack. I also learned that stress aggravates it.
  8. He didn't give a timeline of when it could show up I think it can hit anytime. I'm hoping it's not but what you're describing is what I went through. I do know that it can creep up into the throat and give that burning sore throat feeling.
  9. That stinks.. I had gerd prior to surgery and my surgeon said it may come back post surgery even with my repair. It seems common for sleeve patients to develop it. He advised me that I may have to get the bypass later on to relieve it. Praying it doesn't come back.
  10. It sounds like Gerd. Your PPI may not be strong enough. Did you have a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as your surgery or did they check you for one? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. My doctor did a leakage test before I could drink anything. After I got the clearance I was able to be on a full liquid diet. Did they do a leakage check while you were in the hospital? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm 5 months out
  13. Still waiting on the energy. I'm not the norm though. 63 lbs down and still no energy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I love reading about everyone!! I'm a little late to the party but here it goes. -I've been married for 22 years. My parents didn't think it would last, hated my husband and said they would charge us for the reception if it didn't last 5 years. (We showed them) haha Now my husband and dad are best friends. -I have 2 children. Our daughter is 20, our son is 18. Neither wanted to go to college and I'm ok with that. -I love animals I have 3 dogs. A chocolate lab, yellow lab and a shorkie. I would have cats too but our son is allergic. My shorkie is the best thing ever given to me for Valentine's Day. -strangers think I'm easy to talk to..I've had the boy in a chick fil a drive thru tell me his whole life story while waiting for our food. -I actually talk with strangers easier than people I know. -I've work for my dads business for 18 years, he's retiring so I have to get a "real job". That scares the crap out of me. Also writing down my resume I realized I was severely under paid haha. -I bake cakes for people, pretty good at it but Ive become to hate it now. -I want to move far away and start over Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I think it's because our hormones are all out of whack..I'm in the same boat as you at 5 months out. I'm hoping it returns soon Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I had to shower normally, 2 hrs later shower with the hibiclens soap and not use any shampoo, deodorant or anything after the second shower then I had to shower with the soap again the next morning. Luckily my surgeon gave me the soap. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I was extremely tired during the 2 week pre op diet. Took several naps and I couldn't exercise. My surgeon suggests to start taking your Vitamins now to help with it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I had my pre op visit Dec 1st, my information was submitted to my insurance, approved and surgery was Jan 12th. I had a tentative surgery date when I left the Drs office on the 1st. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. My main issue was eating certain foods and becoming very ill, cold sweats, nausea, abdominal pain, and sudden onset of diarrhea. I didn't have stones, my gall bladder just quit working. This was way back in the 90s. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. I agree with Alex. Call your insurance pre authorization department and ask all the requirements and conditions regarding getting approved for your WLS. My surgeon actually told us to call multiple times. It's important to call the pre auth department and not the customer service number because they have more in depth information. 24. I want one..or 2. I just turned 43. The first one I want is the infinity symbol with my children's names in script within the symbol. Something like this And then something to remind me of how far I've come when I'm at goal.. Not sure what that will be. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I've had 2 closet purges so far (5 months out). I buy a nice new outfit if I have something coming up. Most of the time I'm in shorts with a draw string and a t shirt. My biggest expense I fear is going to be in shoes! I've already gone down a size. Oh and also I lost an inch in height!! What the crap!!?? Ugh I went to a consignment shop over the weekend and got some pants and a few dresses. Some I can wear now and the rest in a couple weeks I'm sure. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
