  1. Hi all. I am going in on Wednesday for a hernia repair along with having the band removed due to issues. Has anyone had this surgery before and what was your recoup time? Thanks for any help. Feeling nervous.
  2. Just wondering if anyone had the lap band and turned to the sleeve. I was banded in July. Lost about 20lbs. I developed a hernia and was thinking of possibly having the sleeve while having hernia repair
  3. Hi all. I am new to this site. I had my surgery on 7/8 so on Wed I will be 3 weeks post op (lap band). I have been really diligent about straight Protein plus cream of wheat or oatmeal. My issue is I'm starving! I'm sure after the band gets tightened in 2 weeks I will start to feel it but right now I feel like I can eat anything and everything. I feel totally normal like I did before surgery. I've been on pretty much solids since the first week (turkey meatballs and ground stuff like that) but I'm definitely missing little things like baked chips and even a salad! LOL Hoping others are having a similar experience? TIA
  4. I am more than 3 months post op and this weekend I noticed swelling in the area of my port. my stomach is sticking out on that side further and my mid section looks lopsided. I also have been having sensitivity coughing, laughing or sneezing...almost a feeling like a pulled muscle. Has anyone experienced this? I am feeling very concerned. Thanks.

    Port area problems

Thanks I called. He said to come in if it's still swollen on Monday but if it's not red or hot it shouldn't be anything too concerning. Its very strange
  6. Has anyone experienced this? It's like a strong ache but is pretty painful. My port is on the right side so I know it's not that. Just wondering if anyone had a similar experience. Thanks.
  7. I am almost 3 months post op. I am down 20 pounds but my weight has been at a standstill for a couple of weeks. Was just wondering has anyone gone back to the Protein shakes for a few days to kickstart their weight loss again? Thanks.
  8. Glad to hear. I'm gonna try it for 3 days and see if it helps me drop a few. Thanks
  9. Just curious as to what your daily diet looks like. I'm 7 weeks post and I pretty much have no restrictions. Also I haven't had a fill yet so I lost 17lbs so far but nothing these past few weeks. I'm hoping after my fill the weight starts to come off again. I still have 50 more to go. Thanks
  10. Anyone else find it difficult to not have a drink with your meal? I have to say it's the so difficult for me. I'm 5 weeks post op feeling great but this is a struggle!!
  11. I'm 5weeks out and lost 16lbs. This was the first week I didn't lose anything which was discouraging but hopefully it will pick up again next week. I haven't had a fill yet either

Struggle to not drink while eating

I know. I have to force the water too. I was a huge diet soda drinker so that alone was a struggle. Crystal light iced tea helps me it's just so weird not filling a drink at meals lol
  13. I am 3 weeks post op lap band. I eating ground turkey and tuna and eggs and shakes. I'm having no problems getting anything down and am quite hungry most of the time. I'm hoping after my first fill next week I'll be fuller than I am now. Right now I'm feeling confused about everything

    Trouble eating slowly?

Thank you. I did think about the sleeve but I wanted something less invasive. I'm ok with slow as long as it's steady. Go for my first fill in the 6th so I'm sure things will change after that. Thanks for the help!
  15. Thank you. Yes my Dr have me a menu for first 4 weeks which includes ground turkey eggs and fish. As long as they are soft and chewed a lot. Hoping after the first fill I feel better. Never thought I'd miss salad I much lol
