Dr. says 40 is too young...help

I just turned 27 last week and had my sleeve done 1st of july. Im sorry but your doctor is stupid and doesnt seem to know what the heck he is talking about. The younger you do it the less complications youll get. Also you will get to experience and to live life properly at a younger age. Ive met 3 different top famous bariatric surgeons in sweden and they say "the earlier the better".

    Piece of cake

How was your post supposed to be funny? It sounded like all other people ive met that are trying to make fun of over weight people doing a bariatric surgery.
  5. I had my sleeve 1st of july. My experience was painful. Been just crying and barely eating due to severe severe severe pain. I burp all the time and my stomach cramp whenever i drink or eat something. Ive read that alot of people are having great experiences with my type of surgery ( gastric sleeve) and barely feel any pain...well. Im happy for them. Im really suffering and im dehydrated most of the time because its too damn painful to swallow anything. Also all food disgust me and i feel like vomiting all the time. Cant have people eating food around me. Really dont want to sound negative but its healthy to know that this surgery isnt going to easy either. But in the end its all worth it. Trust me Good luck

    Emotional Wreck

Thank you everyone for this thread. I really needed to read this and i thought im alone in this matter. I had my gastric sleeve 1st of july. Been breaking down, having panic attacks, nauseated, crying, anxious, regretting thr surgery, and having very dark emotions. I even got to a point were i asked myself if ill be alive in a few weeks lol. But reading this thread helped me alot.

    I wish I knew...

I had my sleeve done on the 1st of july. Im still in severe pain and i cry now and then. Its especially bad when i drink water or drink any fluid too fast. I wish my surgery was as pleasant as you guys described it...
  9. I had my surgery 1st of july. So i am 2/3 days post op. Im actually writing this from this hospital. Lol. But yeah i had gastric sleeve and the surgery didnt take longer than 1 hour. Approx. 1-2 hours after waking up nurses could hear me crying and moaning. I was told before that gastric sleeve is the most painful type of surgery one can have. Anyway. Im going home today. Feeling nervous. Its really hard to eat and its still quite painful to swallow 2 sips of Water at a time. The gas (CO2) they use to fill up your abdomen causes alot of pain and discomfort to. But this is all very individual. I have generally very sensitive gastrointestinal tract (IBS and atropic gastritis) so i kinda knew i would feel more pain than others. Best regards from Sweden /Nina
