catwoman7 got a reaction from JenX74 in High B12 and folate levels
high B12 levels are rarely a cause for concern. Mine are always over 1000, and a couple of times they went over 2000. When they got to that point, my clinic just said it cut back a bit on my B12 supplementation. It wasn't that it was dangerous, it's just that taking as much as I was at the time was kind of a waste, because I was clearly getting enough.
Folate is a B Vitamin - those are Water soluble so I'd be a little surprised if your clinic is concerned about that.
I'm not sure either of those would be due to your fatty liver, but then, I'm not a medical person, so take that with a grain of salt.
P.S. I just checked with Dr. Google (not the best resource, I know). It doesn't say anything about high folate being related to liver issues - more often, it's related to a B12 deficiency, which you don't have (you said your B12 level is high). It said a high B12 level CAN be related to a liver or kidney issue, but it's usually related to recent supplementation. They may just have you cut back a bit on your B12. But wait to hear what they say. I'm a long-time vet and have been hanging out on this and similar sites for about eight years. A lot of people feel better when their B12 level is above 800 - or even 1000. My clinic never said anything to me until it went over 2000 - and again, they just told me to cut back on my B12 supplement. It's always a good idea to check with your clinic, though, just in case - and if you're worried.

    catwoman7 got a reaction from snorelax8 in 3rd and 4th week stall
stalls usually last 1-3 weeks, so it should break soon. Just stick to your plan and stay off the scale if it's screwing with your head. It'll break and you'll be on your way again..

a lot of people feel cold all the time after surgery. For some it's temporary, for others it's permanent. Some of it is probably due to you have less "insulation" than you did before, but because that cold feeling can sometimes start within weeks of surgery (before most people have lost much weight), I suspect something about the surgery affects your inner thermostat, too. In my case, it was temporary - but some people are always freezing and have to wear extra clothes!

As a vet, I'd like to kindly suggest you reframe your thinking. There's no cheating, there are no bad foods. You're still allowed to eat and enjoy food. It's all about balance. You don't need to feel guilty or do an extreme work out to make up for anything. You're going to need to find a sustainable way of eating and relating to food.
Realistically, you likely ate under 1500 calories0 calories

catwoman7 got a reaction from Sunnyer in Threw up blood
I did once or twice in the hospital - can't remember if it was after eating or not. I was told not to worry about it - it was just blood from the surgery - but again, I was still in the hospital when that happened, so at most it would have been within the first 24 hours post-op. In your case, I'd let your clinic know. I'm not sure if it's anything to worry about or not, but they'd know.

you're seven months out now - from about this point and for the rest of your life, you're going to occasionally have days like this. It was a holiday - even skinny people tend to eat more than usual or have special treats on such days. The trick is to get right back to it the next day and don't let it continue on. Sounds like you have a good plan.

it's probably the IV Fluid. It's basically salt Water, which some people retain for a few days. I've heard of people "gaining" up to 10 lbs while in the hospital! Give it a few more days - should be all out of your system by then.

those diets vary so much - some surgeons don't even require pre-op diets. Check with your clinic as they're the only ones who'll know for sure what your surgeon requires.

catwoman7 reacted to Smanky in Pre-surgery diet
Distract yourself with everything you can. The pre-surgery diet is universally the hardest bit, and everyone just has to soldier through it. The first week is the worst, as it's pure cold-turkey and that means withdrawals from carbs and sugar which are rough. Ask your team if you can at least eat vegetables for some texture? If not, find any distractions, whether it's walking, reading, playing games, doing some DIY.
It feels like forever when you start it, but the time does go. By week two, my looming surgery brought pre-op nerves that helped distract me from the starvation diet.
