I've been using "waterlogged" to track my Fluid intake, and "next bite" to help me slow down while I eat. Using that, it's taking me 15-20 minutes to eat 2 oz of a soft Protein like cottage cheese or eggs. I am only 8 days post op, but have found both of these tremendously helpful!

Oh, I know! I just thought this particular explanation was exceptional.
I've been keeping my eye on your posts, since we had our discussion about drinking water and the pyloric valve. You've always got a lot of good things to add to the conversation!

I didn't, but I seem to recall a page in my surgery manual that had a list of symptoms where it was recommended to call the surgeon right away: fever and sharp pain may be two.
If you think you are experiencing something unusual or out of the ordinary, why not call your surgeon? I know mine has a 24-hour number for questions just like this. Don't wait for answers from strangers on the Internet if you think something is wrong.

I'd check with your surgeon.. Everyone's recovery is different, but that doesn't sound normal Better to get it checked out so they can help you, or at least reassure you that it is normal.

Don't be depressed. What you are experiencing is very common. You are recovering from major surgery which included lots of IV fluids and swelling. Plus, almost everyone experiences a stall about week three as your body catches up to the trauma.
As long as you focus on following your post-op instructions, reaching your Protein target, and staying hydrated, you will be fine. If the number on the scale is going to depress you, then stay off the scale.< /p>

What were you trying to accomplish by posting what you posted on this thread? If you weren't going to help her why say anything at all? If you have nothing positive to add to this thread then why comment with something negative? Seriously...since you know and remember everything you were told, help a sista out instead of in some aspects bashing people. Be of assistance and value. Your comments were really unnecessary and not helpful at all. Find some compassion for others. Just keeping it real.....

I was told I could have milk instead of Protein Drinks. Not as much Protein, but better than nothing. Fair life skim milk has a good amount of protein compared to most milk.

Or to be able to wear heels for more than 10 minutes without feeling like I want to cut my feet off! All that extra weight is hard to carry in those dainty shoes!

My bariatric nurse told me in the first few weeks, getting protein and fluids would be a struggle, and if I had to sacrifice one to get the other, sacrifice protein. Protein will help us heal, but Water is going to keep us out of the hospital. Made sense to me.
^^ I think I'm going out tomorrow to get some of the clear protein drinks, so I can make sure I don't have to sacrifice protein to get my fluids in.

I was also sleeved on 8/31!
So far, so good. My recovery has been very smooth, very little pain and almost no nausea. I've been allowed 3 mini meals per day of 1-2 oz of soft Protein since day 3 post-op, and seem to be tolerating everything fine. Not having much issues with hunger.
Struggling getting my Water and Protein in, but starting to be able to take bigger sips, so I'm getting there. Now that I can finish a Protein shake (11oz, takes about 30 minutes), I should reach my protein goal today. Water, I just need to remember to sip constantly.
I'm feeling very tired today. I'm guessing that comes with eating less than 400 cals/day for a week straight.

Hi all.. I thought I'd share a link to a video in my YouTube channel from 2 days post op. I've been recording my story for a couple of weeks on my channel (you can google "Trisha's Sleeve Story) to find me. I'm only 4 days post op, so I'll be adding videos as my story continues!

ttdish got a reaction from Gaelsmom in Miralax vs. Milk of magnesia or others? Help.
I didn't go for 2 or 3 days pre-op, so by 3 days post-op, my abdominal has pain was horrendous (couldn't even pass gas). Mirilax takes time, and I needed faster relief. I took 3 oz of milk of magnesia before bed. At 6:30 am, I woke up, and let's just say I was all cleared up quickly.
I was nauseous and uncomfortable when I woke up, but I think that's true for most laxatives, and it went away once it was all done "going."

Not always, but sometimes it's crazy loud! I'm 5 days post op. Also in no pain, having a smooth recovery, but it's funny when the room is quiet and my stomach is like, "hey everyone, listen to me!!"

I could have written this post word for word! I was just sleeved, so I can say how I'll feel down the road, but I've been successfully medicated for depression for years. Maybe I'll be able to decrease my dose some, but I suspect I'll always need pharmaceutical help, and I'm ok with that. I think feeling better about myself will help, but it won't take away the chemical imbalance in my brain.

It's not just about being fat. I'm so sorry about your marriage.. Whatever happens, lonely and HEALTHY is so much better than lonely and unhealthy, every day of the week. Take care of yourself, value yourself, and whatever else happens, you'll be in a better place than if you don't.

Me too! I'm still preop, so I still notice this. Looking forward to that not being the case anymore.
Babbs, you are such an inspiration! You are gorgeous, and I love your "tell it how it is" attitude when people post nonsense on here!
