    Menstrual maddness!

Wow three months! I hope it stays away that long for me. Yes mines was also very heavy and lasted 5-7 days along with at least 3 days of horrible cramps. This remindes me of when I gave birth..... my aunt fliw was away for about 3 months and I was in heaven.
  2. I am only 4.5 weeks post op. My period came a week early during my pre-op diet so the radical change in my diet made an immediate change to my menstrual cycle. Fast forward to now and I yet to have my period. No pms or anything. I am assuming it's the huge change we are going through as I have lost about 15 pounds during pre-op diet and 20 pound post op. I do have an appt on Monday with my gyn and another on Thursday with my surgeon so I will try and get some info on this and will let you know.

    Menstrual maddness!

I am the opposite for now. I got my period a week early when I started pre-op diet which was fantastic as I should have had my period during surgery which was on June 17th. NOW I was hoping my period would come back before I go away and there's no sign of it coming. No pms no cramps (which were horrible) NOTHING. I wasn't on any type of birth control as I wasn't active soooooo I don't know what's going on. I am thrilled of course but hope it doesn't make an appearance when I go to Florida.
  4. wow you look great and so much younger! Congrats.
  5. So happy for you! Yes the first week or two are very hard but just tell yourself, "tomorrow will be better". It does get better each day that passes. If you're having problems with drinking Water change the temp, that helps. Room temp water feels heavy in my stoamch so adding ice of freezing it a bit helps a lot. The walking part will work itself out as you feel better each day, but it helps so much with gas. Please keep us updated!
  6. Lol I still go through this but blame the chewable vitamins. Ughhhh I hate it. Im in the pureed stage and brush my teeth after I eat my vitamins. .... but if I forget my toothbrush forget it. I feel like they haven't been brushed in days. Cant wait to be able to drink my vitamins
  7. I know it is hard when they put you on hold for the surgery. Best advice I can give is try and eat like you had the surgery. Meaning use a smaller spoon, take smaller bites and chew your food like 25 times before swallowing. I don't want to say diet because when I think of diet I would end up eating more and more junk food. Try it for about a month and see how it goes..... even it's without changing what you eat too much. I did this before my surgery to kind of get myself used to post op eating and lost about 10 pounds. I was eating the same foods I always ate, I just chewed slower and made sure NOT to eat all the food on my plate. Oh and I had cut back on soda, but I didn't eliminate it completely. I found the more i said no to something, the more i wanted it so everything in moderation.Hope this helps
  8. ashley I feel you. I'm 35. I was tired of being tired, achy from walking a block, asking for seat belt extenders on air planes, I became a hermit too. I live in NYC and it felt great to be able to walk around as new buildingsa are always going up and the city is constantly changing. I'm only 3.5 weeks post op and am amazed at how much better I feel.
  9. yes it bieng water weight is very true. Yesterday when I woke up I felt horrible from the medications and was down. But I started calming down after looking through the forumns and learning more about the post op process. Sorry for being a Debbie downer, just tired of feeling sick. Before the meds I felt weak but I was doing great, felt great and was finally enjoying walking as I had no leg or back pain anymore. So the medicinr slowed me down as I get dizzy during my walks. But I emailed my Dr and his nurse and am waiting to see what they say. I know this sounds bad but although I only have three days of meds left, I don't think I can continue taking them. So hopefully they say I can stop or at least reduce it a bit.
  10. you look great! Wow yes much younger looking too!!
  11. Wow I go to this thread when I'm having a hard time. I'm just reaching three weeks post op and think I'm at a stall. So this thread cheers me back up and motivates me. Thanks to those who posted before and after pics.
  12. Thanks I'm so new to this so it helped to hear of a three week stall. It is a process. I laugh when I tell my family I need to learn when I'm full again. Yes,3 short days left!
  13. So I will be 3 weeks post op on Wednesday. While I was on liquids I was losing about 2 pounds a day during the 2nd week. I weighed 311 right before surgery. I was getting all my Water in plus some and i felt fantastic. Than I was told I had to take a cocktail of medicines to prevent ulcers and my weight loss plateaued once I started taking them last Sunday, I was stuck at 300. I have been between 299 and 298 the past week. I am thrilled I'm out of the 300's but I feel horrible. There are some days I can't get all my water in, I can't go for a walk etc. I am sticking to the pureed diet and getting Protein in. But the medication has me feeling sick and nauseous all the time where I just can't get myself out of bed. I am off it in 3 days (have to take it for 10 days). And although I try really hard to be positive about it I feel so fustrated...... and sick. So I came here to vent and also see if anyone has had to deal with this and medications for ulcer prevention. I'm taking tetracycline and I forgot the other one along with pepto. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Anita are you taking ur vitamins? I am and it helped a bit but I need a nap some time in the course of my day.
  15. Omg im not in the pureed food stage yet but just might cave and buy unsweetened apple sauce. I am so miserable. They just started me on a cocktail of meds as they biopsied my stomach when I got sleeved. It came out I am highly susceptible to developing and ulcer and the medications all taste horrible. I have to drink pepto 4x a day and crush two yucky pills 4x a day for 10 days. They make me dry heave something horrible. But I'm 11 days out of surgery, and am just using applesauce. Thanks for the idea
