    Reboot?

I haven’t been here for awhile. A couple of years after my surgery, I thought I was good and didn’t need any help from anyone anymore. Boy was I wrong! I lost 100 pounds. In the past 2 years 45 pounds has creeped back on. Now I’m back and ready to focus on losing (again). Any tips to reboot my system? Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Sleevers with PCOS?

I was sleeved in July and HAD PCOS for years and years. Since my surgery (and 95 pounds lost), my doc said it looks like PCOS is gone. My periods are regular. No more cystic acne. I haven't taken metformin or spirolactone since July!
  4. I told close family and a couple of friends. As people notice my weight loss and ask, I tell them I had surgery. The surgery is not an easy way out. I work hard every day following a new way of eating and exercise. The surgery helps me see progress and not get discouraged.
  5. Folding laundry and realizing those jeans you're holding are actually yours ...but they look so small!

    Protein Options

I pour mine over ice. The ice dilutes the shake, makes it less sweet, but not too watery.

    Hair Loss

I'm 3 months out and noticed my hair has started to thin. I've upped my protein and started taking biotin. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's a short falling out period.
  8. @@Shortlynx2 I'm in Davie! My surgeon was Dr. Wizman!

    Hair Loss and Vitamins

I'm 11 weeks out. I keep thinking I see a thinness, but my husband says he can't tell. But I'm ok with thinning hair to be healthy and skinny. Plus, I've heard that it's temporary and as time goes on, your hair will become thicker.

    Husband rant

Funny, my girlfriend and I were talking about husbands today. We decided marriage should be similar to cell phone contracts! You have a husband for 2 years. At that time you can decide to upgrade to a newer model or keep the one you have. But after the 2 years, you can upgrade at any time. ????
  11. I'm 8 weeks post-op. My doctor wants me to be eating 3-4oz protein per meal plus 2 servings of veggies each day. My issue is that I hate eating the protein! I chew and chew and chew, take small bites, and it still goes down funny. Anyone else have this problem?

    Eating Real Food

@@joatsaint thanks for the recipes! I'll try them this week! I love yogurt! And cheese and lunch meat. Those go down easy. Believe it or not, before surgery I was a huge egg-lover...now I can't eat them! My doc told me to 'listen' to my body. Eat as much Protein as I can, but don't push it. It's funny, I'll sit down to eat and be HUNGRY! But after a few bites, I'll feel done.

    Fitbit pals

I just got my Fitbit last week! Would love some friends Nilamji@hotmail.com
  14. I had my surgery 8 weeks ago and am always cold! I bought a space heater for under my desk at work and if I'm home, im walking around in sweats and socks...in Florida!
  15. You look great and are an inspiration! I was a tight size 20 when I had my surgery 8 weeks ago. This past week I was feeling a bit down on myself. Now I'm ready to keep on with my head high and my eye on the prize! Thank you!
  16. My biggest issue is that I love coffee with cream and sugar. I've tried drinking it with Splenda and can't. So I gave it up before surgery and haven't wanted the extra calories after. So, no coffee for me
  17. I'm in Ft. Lauderdale! I was sleeved on July 22nd. Nice to meet a couple of local people.
  18. I'm a teacher. I had was sleeves on 7/22. I went back to work on 8/17. I was 4 weeks out, but it was my first days of being up and out of the house all day! I was nervous. But my admin and a couple of fellow teachers knew. So I didn't feel bad about taking extra breaks. Plus my admin told me if it was too much and I had to leave early, leave early.
  19. Hi, I was sleeved on 7/22. My surgeon has me starting 2-3 oz of lean protein (chicken, turkey, etc) for each meal. My question is: Since I'm not really hungry, how do I know when I'm full?
  20. Right after my sleeve, it took me forever to drink my protein! I was so worried that I'd never be able to do it. Now (3.5 weeks later) I can drink my shake (11oz) in about 30-40 min. This is a huge improvement! I hope it continues to speed up.
  21. I think I definitely will slow down and see if the burping happens. Right now my stomach gurgles so much when I eat I hope I'll be able to tell! Lol. I do weigh all of my food. It's the only way I can make sure not to overeat. I understand what you say about different food textures. I'm fine with chicken but eggs and I don't agree right now.
  22. @@bigdrewfl I wish I was given some cue! For awhile I would hiccup and I thought that was my cue to stop. But then a few days later the hiccuping went away.
  23. @@SleevyWonder I was on puréed and mushy foods on day 3...granted I wasn't eating too much by then. Now I can tolerate about 2.5 oz of puréed/mushy at a time! But according to my surgeon and NUT I'm on proteins starting day 14 (I waited an extra week bc I couldn't imagine eating yet). I'm allowed to moisten the proteins w small amounts of mayo or broth. But I'm taking TINY bites and chewing everything up.

    Weight stall

I am in my 3rd week also....and yup, I stalled! It's also my time of the month, so I doubt that's helping much either....nothing to do but follow doctor's orders and hope this stall ends soon!
  25. I was sleeved on July 22nd. I never thought I'd be able to drink all the protein they ask me to. But yesterday, I poured my shake over ice and it was so much easier to drink! I don't know why, but for me, that was the magic button. 30g of protein in a shake and later 10g from a ice cold glass of milk! Water is still tough for me though.
