Breakfast: 1 egg omelette. Filled with orange and green peppers, bacon (2 slices) and shredded cheese.
Lunch: chicken breast (the Purdue perfect portion) sliced cucumbers dipped in Catalina dressing.
Snack: Peanut Butter on 1 slice whole of whole wheat bread.
Dinner: (attempted) 1 chicken drumstick and carrots, but my snack was to close to dinner, so I could finish it.

Here in Minnesota the sweet corn is just starting to show up. I am really going to miss it this year :-(

I haven't been here long.....almost two weeks post surgery, so I probably shouldn't chime in. However, I'm happy to see other people besides me with their heads close to exploding. LOL

There do seem to be a lot of people who had this surgery who want to skip steps and/or eat things they shouldn't (and many within just a few weeks of surgery). It terrifies me.
But I think the worst ones for me are the posts that say something like, "I've been doing everything perfect, and I've lost 30 pounds in the past 4 weeks since surgery, but OMG.....I haven't lost anything in the past day!"
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Back to lurking. )

Tomojac got a reaction from freelee in 2-3 weeks out, What are you eating?
I had RNY June 10. I made the cheese bake this week. It was very good. I also have refried Beans with a little cheese, cauliflower, applesauce, greenbeans, and yogurt and pudding. The next thing I'm going to try is roast beef hash. I've been trying to add something new every few days to see how it goes. Still can't do eggs though.

I just went back to work this last week too and while I don't work around food, I did find it a little difficult eating in the lunchroom watching everyone else. But it did get easier throughout the week. Give it some time and see if you can avoid those foods. (You can't physically eat them right now anyway without damaging your stomach.) Hopefully by the time you can move to real foods, you will be satisfied enough that those foods won't bother you any longer. But you are right, this journey is the most important. If you have too much temptation, you may have to look for something else. Meanwhile trust your "tool" and work the program.

So far I haven't had a major issue with dumping. I'm only in week 3, but I've been trying lots of new foods and haven't had any major issues (ground beef didn't get along with my stomach though). From everyone I know who has had bypass, I've heard of no major issues with dumping syndrome. As long as you eat what you're supposed to, you will be fine. Dumping syndrome is typically from too much sugar. So when you get to a point that you can introduce sugary/unhealthy foods (if you avoid them all together kudos, but let's be honest, we're all human!) you just need to remember to only try a bite or two, and don't multiple new foods at once.
