fatsolovescandy reacted to Butterflyhigh in Cranky sleeve: need some advice please
Getting fluids in was hard for me because pre-op all I drank was Water and post-op I could not tolerate it. Here are some things I was doing during the early stages....
diluted apple juice, warmed in the micro
    chicken broth
    chocolate pudding
    scrambled eggs
    hummus
For the first few months eating is pretty boring and monotonous. Take this time to hit the RESET button on your relationship with food. Start to retrain your brain to think of food as fuel, not a thing to gain emotional enjoyment or satisfaction from. I believe that is the key to having lifelong success from this surgery. It's not the first few months of amazing (and easy) weight loss...it's the retraining of your brain that will make it all worthwhile for the long haul.
    Good Luck on your journey!

My nutritionist told me to introduce new foods slowly one at a time. If a new food isn't tolerate then back off for a few more days before trying again. I'm only on day 2. Having a rough enough time getting liquids in while fighting nausea. The tiniest of air bubbles in my new tummy makes me nauseous. Gook luck!

I was sleeved 6/24. Trying to think of rewards as well for when I meet goals. I think 20lbs is a great amount to lose for each reward. I've lost 35lbs so far and have 85 to go. I told hubby I wanted to go on a dream vacation when I hit goal. ???? I told him we could afford it since we will be meal sharing for the rest of our lives.

July 7th here with Dr. Richard Ing at Bryn Mawr Hospital. In the second week of the liquid diet and losing a good bit of weight quickly. Don't sweat the pre-op diet. It def gets easier after a few days.

I started this process on Jan 8 by going to a seminar(259 lbs) Feb 23 started my three month dr watched diet. I finished my last diet class on May 20 (254lbs). Got a call while on Vacation on May 29, and scheduled surgery for June 15. At my pre-op appt on June 3, started my pre-op restricted diet on June 4. It went so fast I didn't really have time to get nervous!! June 15, I weighted 240lbs. Today I am down to 224. I am excited to not only get rid of some weight for good, but also I have a bathing suit I have that I would love to get into by the end of summer!!! I just have about 20 more pounds to go till I can wear it!!! Tomorrow is my 2 week check up and I am pretty well eating soft foods and walking daily. I am excited to hit my next goal of 200lbs, then I thing my next goal will be another 20 lbs. I think when I hit 199.9 lbs I am going to enjoy an hour massage, to reward myself. I am looking forward to running around with my one year old grandson and not being out of breath!!!! Loving my decision to do this and I am not looking back!!!!! Hope everyone else is doing great also!!!!

@@bnm4 Wow!!! Congrats! I've heard that setting an alarm for every five minutes and then drinking a medicine cup full of Water every time the alarm beeps helps tremendously.
Hope you stay hydrated! Take care.

Hi yall - my surgery was at 9:30 and all went smoothly! My surgeon was really awesome and made it an out patient procedure I have been home since about 2:30. I've been sleeping a lot since then and taking the long way to get anything I need so I can get some extra walking in. (It's raining outside so I'm stuck doing laps in the house haha!) Right now my only issues are the trapped gas and tenderness in the incision where the stomach was pulled out. My goal right now is to just get some Water in - which is a very slow process!
Luckily my momma has been able to help me through it since she's just now starting normal food!
Happy to be on the losers bench and can't wait for everyone to join! Good luck to those who are having their surgeries soon!
