  1. Brandy & Ador -- Hope you are both feeling better, please let us know what is going on. I have been saying prayers since I read about you both this morning.

Green -- It is so sad when people treat us that way. I know how you are feeling, I have that problem with my MIL. Always trying to 'win' her approval (and after 17 years it gets kinda had to keep trying). We love you and are so proud of you, I know that doesn't make up for your parents approval but its a start. Just keep going and hold your head high you did this for all the right reasons, YOU!!!!!!!!

We went to the lake this weekend and I waterskiied for the 1st time in 16 years. Finally got rid of 50+ lbs and could get my fat as_ up outta the Water. I was so happy and everyone in the boat was hooting & holleran. It was the coolest. :)

I will try to post some pics later today. Gotta get back to work now.

  2. Everyone -- Thanks for the wonderful words abt how I have changed. It's a big difference isn't it? I look back at that 1st picture and just cringe.

I went in today for a fill and ended up not getting one. After a nice discussion with Tom, we decided I didn't need one and I will ck in in 3 wks. I had lost 11 lbs. in 5 wks, he sd I am still losing and that is great. I have been having some heartburn at night, so I am gonna try not eating 2 hrs b4 bed and taking an over the counter medicine to see if that will help. I keep you updated on that.

We are heading to the Lake for the weekend in the morning. I can't wait!!! Especially now that I can wear a tankini. I will post some pictures when we get back. I am even going to try waterskiing again. I haven't skied in years, just been to hevy to get out of the Water, but with 50 lbs gone who knows what could happen.

Dee-- I know you are already on the road, just wanted you to know I was thinking of you and hoping you have a fun, and safe trip...Win BIG in Vegas Baby. Don't do anything I wouldn't do...

Newbies, welcome and best of luck to you on this wonderful life changing journey, you have picked the best Dr.

Sorry this is so long, I was just long winded tonight for some strange reason...:crying:

Hope you all have a GREAT weekend.!!!!!

  3. I agree with luigismama and Lunabeane DO NOT make your self throw up. It can cause your band to slip and you don't want that. Just wait it out, you will feel better in a little while and if you don't call your dr.

I had pintos and Beans abt a week after my surgery too...funny thing is I would never in a million yrs have ordered them pre band, but I just had to have Taco Bell and knew that they where only thing I would be able to get down. My own way of cheating.

Best of luck to you as you start this amazing journey.:cursing:

  4. Wow! that is quite the compliment! Is he cute? Or will he be cute when he gets older?

I was bad in college. I dated a 15 year old, when I was 17. He was a Sophomore in HS and I was a Sophomore in College. When his Mom found out, she claimed, I lied about my age and she forbid him to see me! It was all so taboo!

Why did I tell you that story?

She is very cute and a college student. She sd the boys would just love me. She played v-ball with my daughter and is such a sweetie. She was just so shocked by how much weight I had lost (the last time we saw her was Christmas).

I love your stories, they are always so funny or loving and make me happy when you share.

  5. So, my hubby took the girls to a movie tonight. I had a plan that I would take a nice long bath and get caught up on my soap, but as I left my in home office, my nasty treadmill started calling me names (and not nice ones either). I tried to ignore her, but ended up yelling back "I just want a night by myself". She kept it up and so I confess I gave in and ended up doing 45 minutes of cardio. I fell better and it got rid of some of my 'Monday Stress'. I am glad that I did it, I will take a bath after I eat and get caught up on my soap someother day.

  6. Denise...how did you get the courage to run around in a bathing suit? Did you have shorts on with it? Or were you full blown out there?

The thought is mortifying to me...

Brandy -- It was a tankini, and I haven't looked this good in such a long time that I thought what the heck if other people can do it so can I. It was scary at first because I thought everyone was looking at me, but there were people there that shouldn't have a suit on and they did. You are smaller than me, so I say go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Dee -- This was a hard Father's Day for me as well. I think with losing my mom last year, I didn't really notice Father's day last year so it was like I was making up for 2 years. I like your letter idea and if you don't mind I am going to borrow that and write one of my own. I only have two regrets abt losing both my parents and that is that I didn't get more time with them and that they don't get to see me skinny (I know that they are looking down on me and can see me but I would just like to see their faces). I got to say everything I needed to say to both of them before they died, we cried and said I love you more times than I could ever count. I can say that we never ended a conversation without saying "I love you", and I am lucky 4 that. Okay enough of the crying...

I am so blessed to have found friends like you.

We went to Chatfield state park yesterday afternoon, with some friends. It was so much fun, we swam, played volleyball (of course) and bbqued. What a blast. I ran around in my bathing suit and felt great.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday.

  8. My dad just called and the said that his MRI today revealed that he has a small hip fracture, not a bone tumor!! This is such a good thing. He may end up needing surgery on his hip, but this is such a better thing than what they initially thought.

WHEW!!!! Wow, our father's day just became a whole lot better!

    :biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:

Mini -- Glad to hear the good news on ur father. It will really be a good "Fathers" day for you now. And surgery is a much better then the alternative.

  9. I did get a slight fill (o.1cc) so just a touch. I also saw Dr. K today and not Tom like I thought. That was a nice surprise. Dr. K said I should only lose 5-10 pounds more. Tom said 20-30 more. I want to lose at least 15 more and the re-evaluate where I am. The number in my head is 27 more, I need to get over that "certain number, certain size" syndrome.

I was going to try to meet up with Sidann, but I am not sure if I saw her or not, she could have been in the other room. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Brandy -- I think you have to be happy with where you are at weight wise. I know that is the hard part for me I keep think I want to be abt 130 - 135, but it will depend more what I look like once I get there. You will know what is right for you once you get there. You look great!!!:rolleyes2:

  10. Brandy -- What a difference six months makes. You look AWESOME, WTG girl. Looking at you I know that I can do it too. Thanks for the inspiration. On the main page this morning it had a thread abt Hair loss, kinda funny since I was asking abt it just last night. It says that Biotin helps I have some and will start using it to see if that helps me, I'll let ya know.

Woofay -- Thanks for clearing that up abt the elevations, I am just so blonde that I thought since we drove up to Denver it was higher. Another blonde moment I guess.

Mini -- In the pic standing from left to right is: Brandy, BAHot, Bookholder

Sitting is Tiedtobefit, Woofay. Hope this helps.

Ladies, thanks again for such a fun night last night, I enjoy getting together with fellow bandsters and seeing what works and want doesn't work for each of us. Also, it is nice to be able to talk about funny stories that we have had on his journey to find the new and improved us. I ate a leftover pork chop this morning and took your advice, I slowed down and chewed, chewed and chewed somemore it helped and has stayed down. I think I just get excited and eat to fast and talk when I eat and that is when I have trouble. I am also going to up my Water intake today and see if that helps flush me out. I had a Protein Shake this a.m. and am off to get on the treadmill (yeah me).
