1. Brandy -- What a difference six months makes. You look AWESOME, WTG girl. Looking at you I know that I can do it too. Thanks for the inspiration. On the main page this morning it had a thread abt hair loss, kinda funny since I was asking abt it just last night. It says that Biotin helps I have some and will start using it to see if that helps me, I'll let ya know. Woofay -- Thanks for clearing that up abt the elevations, I am just so blonde that I thought since we drove up to Denver it was higher. Another blonde moment I guess. Mini -- In the pic standing from left to right is: Brandy, BAHot, Bookholder Sitting is Tiedtobefit, Woofay. Hope this helps. Ladies, thanks again for such a fun night last night, I enjoy getting together with fellow bandsters and seeing what works and want doesn't work for each of us. Also, it is nice to be able to talk about funny stories that we have had on his journey to find the new and improved us. I ate a leftover pork chop this morning and took your advice, I slowed down and chewed, chewed and chewed somemore it helped and has stayed down. I think I just get excited and eat to fast and talk when I eat and that is when I have trouble. I am also going to up my water intake today and see if that helps flush me out. I had a protein shake this a.m. and am off to get on the treadmill (yeah me).
2. Brandy -- OMG your Hannah is ADORABLE, such a strong little girl. My heart goes out to you, it must be so hard everytime she has to have surgery. I will be there tonight and can't wait to meet you. I think I saw you once at the office, but you were in a room and I was walking out so we didn't even get to talk. Life & Bookholder -- Are you both coming tonight? I hope so.
3. Mal -- So sorry to hear abt Buster, hope he is doing better soon. It won't be the same without you tomorrow, I hope you make it. Dee -- Great advice, some of it I needed to hear again so that I can change up what I have been doing. I lost abt 1 lb last week, but the scale is up today (TOM is visiting me). So hopefully by Saturday I will be back down. I have been working out 45 minutes of cardio 45 of weight training, so maybe that will help as well. Bookholder -- Are you going tomorrow night? If so I will bring the 'bug' with me. Yesterday was My Mom's 1 yr anniversary and I did okay. It was hard but I got through it. Rachael had a volleyball camp last night and we saw some of the moms of girls she played with, they were all so shocked by how much weight I have lost. I must admit it felt good not to be the "fat mom" anymore. I know that sounds just aweful and I could not have done it without my band and you all. It is amazing how much confidence I have now. I feel better about myself and feel better health wise too. I am off to get a pedicure and a manicure so I will ck ya all out later. Have a great day my friends.
4. Holy Crap how do I resize that to make it smaller????? Sorry its so big, help....
5. Here is a picture of Rachael's New car!!!
6. Hey Everyone, My Rachael turned 16 yesterday. So today daddy is out buying her a new Nissian Xterra. Must be nice. Actually she is a really good driver and goes for her license next Wed. She is so excited and so are we no more running her all over hel- and back. I played a really bad trick on her yesterday. After she opened all of her presents I told her she had to go outside to get her "big" present. She started jumping up and down and yelling, she was so excited, she got outside and in the driveway was my work truck. She got this depressed look on her face and said "Oh your work truck", I told her "No look in the back", we had gotten her a trampoline. She was excited, but still hoping for a car. I guess a day late isn't too bad, right? My hubby won't stop chasing me around the house and is always pinching at me, saying how good I look. It feels great and hasn't been like this for a long time... I so wish I would have lost this weight years ago, just think where my marriage would be than? I had a fill scheduled for today, but cancelled it. I don't think I need one. I still am eating only a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of food at a sitting and am losing weight consistently. I talked to Natalie and she sd that I probably didn't need one, so I just made a new appt for 2 weeks out and will re-evaluate it than. I had a brownie get stuck the other night and don't think I want to eat one for a long time if ever again. It was so bad, my worse yet. I have been working out 3x's a week lifting weights with my trainer and trying to do my cardio everyday. I have noticed a big difference in my arms from the weight lifting. I need to get back to doing my crunches everyday. Lap -- Congrats on losing, way to rebound from last week and show it a thing or two about who is boss, YOU!!!! Hope you all have a great weekend, oh wait its not Friday yet...so much for wishful thinking.
7. Hey Everyone -- Happy Tuesday to you. Had a great time a t the pool. Its nice to know that I don't look half bad in a tankini as I thought. Some people just shouldn't wear bikinis though... I had so much fun with my daughter and her friend and her mom. We played in the water and even went down the slide, what a blast. We walked laps in the lazy river against the current, man what a workout. She is the sweetest lady and kept telling me how great I looked and that everyone at school has noticed a change in me, not just weight wise but attitude too... I had a rough day yesterday, I hate to keep saying it because I know what it is (My Mom's anniversary) but I just keep letting it affect me even if I try not to. I talked to my doctor about it and she says that if I'm not better a month after than we need to talk about maybe doing meds. That just scares me for some unknown reason. I alsways feel better when I workout, but yesterday I didn't get to go to the trainer. So I will make it up this afternoon.
8. Mini -- I love swimming too. I was a swimmer growing up, all through HS and college. I even qualified for the JR. Olympics in 7th grade. I didn't get to go, I broke my arm 2 weeks before the meet. I was so disappointed. But I still love to swim and have talked to my trainer about making it a part of my workout reg.
9. Deb -- It gets stuck going down, it happens to me if I don't chew well enough. That's why you always hear chew, chew, chew and chew some more. When it happens I either have to throw up or just wait it out and sometimes it will just go through after a while. It feels I really really bad heartburn. Please don't let this scare you. It is really not that bad and I figure it is worth it me, it's a side effect to not beeing so fat.
10. Mini - Its not so much the outing that I'm worried about, its that I will be with someone I know. It's not so bad when I take my daughter to the pool and its just us. It's that another mom will be there and I always feel that they are judging me, even though I know they aren't. They could care less what I look like, they just enjoy spending time with my daughter and me.
11. Its funny, I can't eat protein but I have no problem eating an oreo cookie. I went to dinner with my sister and can't even eat a 1/4 of my chicken, however I can go shopping buy oreos and eat one just fine. The good thing is I only had one cookie and that was enough to satisfy that craving. Its weird. After dinner we went to Wal-mart and because the chicken had gotten stuck and I was still hungry I made poor choices when I shopped. I got oreos and popcorn. At least the popcorn is the 100 calorie packs, that's good, right? I know why I am making these food choices, with my mom's anniversary and all. I just need to get over that though and stop using it as an excuse for my poor judgement. Dee, I wish I had your will power and could just go down and jump on the treadmill when I felt this way. What is hard for me is I know I have this tool and that I can eat a little and than stop, so I just seem to make poor choices even if it is only a few bites. Sorry I am rambling again, I seem to be doing that a lot lately. Hope everyone has a good night and I will ck in tomorrow.
12. Deboregon -- COngrats on ur upcoming wedding and for making this life changing decision. We look forward to getting to know you as you take this journey. Mal -- I actually got a few cute tankinis at Wal-mart of all places. One is teal green and goes over one shoulder. The other has black bottoms and a black, white and hot pink top. I also stopped by Kohl's and got a black, white and red top that I can wear with the black bottoms. And I got a teal and dark blue tankini that came with a really cute wrap. The best part is it was all on sale. If I get up enough courage I might post some pics. I am still really guarded about people seeing me in a bathing suit. I guess I need to get over that though since I am going to the pool tomorrow with my youngest daughter and her friend and her friends mom. The workout was good, I did the treadmill for about 45 minutes alternating jogging and walking. I am hitting the gym 3xs a week with a personal trainer again, so hopfully I will start toning and looking better.
13. :tongue:Shelbi-- About what to say when people ask about your weight loss, only 3 people know that I have had surgery (dh, dd, ds) other than that I tell everyone that I am working out, watching what I eat and drinking a protein shake every morning. It is funny that you asked about this when you did. We went out to dinner with friends last night, and when I got up to go to restroom, because my sushi had gotten stuck, our friends asked my husband how I had lost so much weight. He simply told them that I have been going to the gym 3x's per week (true), watching what I eat (true) and drinking a protein shake for breakfast (true) the only thing he left out was my band. It seems kinda funny to me that I can still go out with friends to lunch, dinner, ect...and no one really notices how little I eat or don't eat. It just goes to show you that people are so wrapped up in themselves they don't really pay attn to you. My mom-in-law has always made some really hurtful comments to me, when she was here a few weeks ago (mind you I have lost over 50 lbs.) she had the nerve to tell me that I shouldn't eat dessert because "I don't need it". I just looked at her and said "the reason I have done so well losing weight is becasue I eat what I want when I want and just watch how much of it I eat". Which is what my band allows me to do. Sorry I ranted so much I have just been in that kind of a mood. And now I am going to go run on the treadmill and work out some of that angst that has crept up on me. Hope everyone has a nice and relaxing Sunday, I am going swim suit shopping later. If I get my nerve up I might even post a picture later.
14. Okay here we go, I weighed this morning and I am down 1.5lbs. Should be more but I ate like crap the last 2 days. I couldn't figure out why I was shoving everything that is bad for me in my mouth, that is until I looked at the calendar and realized next week will be the 1 year anniversary on my Mom's death. That says it all, right? I have now realized it so hopefully I can change it or try to at least. I am off to clean our 5th wheel trailer so that we can put it away. They I think I will take a nice long walk. Could eat much this morning, cereal got stuck and so did my toast. So now I am trying to make it stay down. Wish me luck. Hope you all have a great Saturday!!!
15. Hi, I was banded by Dr. K on 1/2/08 it has been the best thing that I have ever done. I was a self pay as well. I actually did very little research about the band, had 1 consult (with Dr. K) and scheduled my surgery the day of my consult. I found lbt.com after I had my band placed. I love him, his staff and my band. Plus I have made some awesome friends here on lbt.com that have also had surgery by him. I have lost over 50 lbs. so far and only have about 30 more to go. Best of luck to you on this life changing journey. Go for it you deserve to be happy, healthy and beautiful.
16. Brandy -- Just get back on it...you can do it. I have days like that too. Yesterday I had popcorn for dinner and that was after I went to Olive Garden for lunch. I still can only eat a little bit, but not making the right food choices is really hard for me. Mal -- I didn't find a WII fit they are all sold out, everywhere and it's making me MAD. SHelbi -- Sending prayers and good thoughts your way. I hope all is well with ur hubby today.
17. Shelbi -- Congrats on onederland...you go girl!!!! Eliches is a six flags theme park, roller coaters, water park and lots of kids. It is a blast. Fun to do for aynone coming from out of town for the BBQ. LA -- You are so darn cute. I love the new pics. Isn't 4 wheeling fun. We went this past weekend (that was my vacation), we had a blast. And I can tell you being lighter really makes a difference on how I ride. I was always good (Pat myself on the back), now I'm even better. I really hope you make the BBQ, maybe we could get together before hand and go shopping or something? Dee -- I wish you were the funeral director that we dealt with when my mom passed away last summer, you are a lot nicer and understanding than they were. You would make it such an awesome experiance for the family, that is such a hard thing to go through. :wink2:
18. Woofay -- Congrats on your last day. I know for me summer is always busy the kids want to go to the pool, Eliches, the movies or just over to a friends house so I am always running running running. This year I will be able to swim at the pool with them though so hopfully we will be going to the pool a lot more. Have you looked on-line for the WII fit? You all peaked my interest so now I want one, I am going out to look today. Brandy -- That would be awesome if we could all lose that much weight. I know we can, I know we can. Then we can all wear our daisy dukes to the BBQ. Hope everyone has a great day, it looks like the weather might start to warm up, wouldn't that be great?:frown:
19. I apoligize up front this is a long reply. I have been away on vacation, so I am getting caught up. Brandy-- I have stalled a little, but when I noticed I kicked myself in the rearend and started to work out again (I had become a little lazy in that department). Also, I started to drink 1 protein shake 1st thing in the morning (I had heard that if you drink one within an hour of getting up it jump starts your metabolism). Doing both of those things has helped a lot. Lap-- So glad to hear your daughter is doing good. She is so beautiful, just like you. I think you are too young to be a grandma though. Your toes are adorable, can you come do mine? Dee-- I would love to join the challenge. Put me down for 20 pounds, but hopefully I will do more. I want to be in my daisy dukes by the BBQ. LA-- I will really miss you at the BBQ, I was hoping to finally meet face to face. Way to get the scale moving again. You are doing great and should be proud of yourself. Rene-- I still have the 14's & 16's I will save them for you and can bring them to RR or we can even meet before that if you wanted to. When is the next RR night? How about Wed June 11th? Does that work for anyone? :scared2::smile2:
20. Brandy- I know what you mean about getting up on stage. We had my daughters v-ball party and I had to get up in front of all the parents, it felt good not to be the biggest parent in the room. You have come such a long way and we are all so proud of you.:rolleyes2:
21. Dee- It is the "Willie Nelson" one and it is my new obession...JK. I like it and limit myself to a few spoonfuls every few days, or when I get a hair up my butt. Mini- I thought is was going to take longer to, especially when I talked to people, they said that when you have a lower BMI it takes longer. So being the stubborn person I am, I decided to prove them wrong. I hope it works out for you. I am glad that I can be a inspiration for someone, it only took me 35 years to do it. You are having your band exactly 6 months after me, that is so cool. We are going camping over the Holiday. Hope everyone has a great and relaxing weekend. P.S. I have to glout (spelling) my daughter, Rachael, just got a huge award at school. It's called Huskie of the year. Only 1 boy and 1 girl per grade get it. I am so proud of her, she worked her hinny of to get it.:rolleyes2:
22. Did anyone ever figure out how to view our reps?
23. I am out the door for the clothing swap, making my hubby come with to help carry stuff, I think I am the only one going...I guess I'll swap clothes with myself, I hope I get some good stuff...LOL Mal, Wish I could go but I have the "Out-laws" in town. They don't know that I have the band so I would have some explainin' to do if I walked outta the house with a bunch of clothes. Have fun and maybe "MAL" will bring some stuff you really like.
24. Mal--Happy Bandiversay. You go girl.
25. Well since everyone is fussing up to what they ate I thought I would add my 2 cents in... I bought one of the Ben & Jerry's ice cream pints in Peach Cobbler, last night my mother-in-law tried to eat some and I just about took her head off. Funny thing is I don't even like ice cream. I am offically down to 163. I went short shopping today and am down another size. I was so happy that I was dancing around the dressing room and all these ladies were looking at me like I had lost my mind. I was just so happy. Than my mother-in-law said that she is only 1 size smaller than me and that made my year. Hope everyone is having a fab day. I am going on a walk again tonight. Went on one last night for about 1 hour with my 2 girls, we would walk, jog, walk, jog...it was great and I was exhausted when I got home but I did feel good.
