@@TeeNahh It really isn't, I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. It's like the day can't come fast enough but it's also taking forever know what I mean?

@@TeeNahh my doc and I have decided to go with the sleeve. I am relatively young (36) with no major issues.

I just finished watching an episode of extreme weight loss. One thing I saw that is very familiar to me is self sabotage. I am scheduled for my surgery on 9/16 and one of my biggest fears is myself. How do I not sabotage my own success. Any advice, wisdom, or insight in this area is very much appreciated.

Can this be eaten during the pre op diet phase? Pros and/or cons???

Yesterday my surgeons office called to tell me that my insurance FINALLY approved my gastric sleeve procedure. I was super excited but now I'm just really nervous. Nervous about the procedure, nervous about the pain, nervous about what it'll be like after, nervous about how much weight I'll lose and how fast.... What if my expectations aren't met, what if this doesn't work???
Any advice, wisdom, or anything would be great!!!

@@lachellove I will be praying for you but I will also encourage you to pray for your husband. Take it to the Lord! In addition to that, when I feel my husband and I growing distant I pray that the lord would create the desire in our hearts that he did when we were dating. Believe me it WORKS!!! Our Lord is a mighty and powerful God and does all good things for the benefit of his children.

I'm still pre-op but would love the support of fellow Christian sleevers!

I am 36, and a wife and mother to 3 children. I work for T-Mobile as a sales associate. (I've always wanted to be a nurse, but I consistently hold myself back!)

First request was denied because the 6 month dr supervised diet wasn't clear and they didn't receive my psych clearance. We are currently waiting on the second request with the corrected info. God is good and I know he has a plan. I just need to rest in that!
-
Question: does the 6 month supervised visits need to be consecutive? I was told that as long as I have 6 visits within a 2 year span it will be approved.

I had the same issue and tried Syntrax and it is AWESOME. No funky smells, no chalky after taste. I have tried the fuzzy navel which tastes like orange juice. I have also tried the lemonade that tasted like lemonade. Both delish. 1 suggestion would be to just stir the Water and powder it will dissolve; if you use a blender or nutribullet it can make it very frothy. When I mix my drinks I do 1 scoop and 8ozs of water. Hope that helps!

@@smpgastric I'd personally love to know what your doc recommends....
Mine went great! I'm concerned that your not on a strict diet after surgery. It is pretty critical for proper healing and prevention of keeping your new stomach from stretching. My doctor is one of the best in the country. I would be happy to email you my instructions (from him) on what exactly to do after surgery. Of course I recommend clearing it with your doctor first but he has an excellent success rate with his aftercare/meal plan instructions.Just had my surgery. How did yours go?
If you don't want to post your main email on the forum maybe just create a new free pop account @ gmail/yahoo/etc. JUST for weight loss advice.
But in general (without the specifics)
0-3 days after surgery clear liquid diet
4-14 days full liquid diet
15 days-6 weeks soft and blended diet
6 weeks- 6months restricted solid foods
6months-life unrestricted diet (with recomendations of course)
Always eat your Protein FIRST
Don't drink 30minutes before or 30 after you eat. This allows you to keep food in your stomach longer ie making you feel fuller sooner. Drinking while you eat means flushing the food out your stomach so your brain tells you need to keep eating.
Hope this helps!
