    weight loss slow down?

how much weight did you start at? 130 kilos now down to 90 trying to get to 75-80
  4. Hi all, so I've lost 40 kgs in 4 months. I know. Wow. But I still have 10-15 more to go to be happy and now there's this natural slow down in the weight loss. I know it's normal and all, but is there anything I can do to get back to losing? More sports? Less food? Don't know. Anyway thanks.
  5. Hi all, Thanks for this. I might be rushing it, but it did seem not that much. Also, I am sure my sleeve will be bigger than a woman's - I'm 194cm (6"4'), so... But even if, almost 60 minutes of discomfort is normal if I screw up? Be blessed
  6. Hi all, So I'm almost 2 months out of surgery and things are going great, have lost 25 kilos so far, not complaining in the least. my NUT has raised a concern with a recent blood test of me not eating enough protein, but nothing serious, so I'm making an effort. What I AM having trouble with is the drinking rule. So last night I got some chicken and an eggroll (I was authorised to "eat anything" now), and I clocked it to make sure I was waiting 30 minutes. But I still felt full as if I had just finished eating. Also, I don't think I was eating too much. (100 grams of chicken with 2 tiny eggrolls, should be fine, no?) or perhaps I was eating fast again? I was chewing a lot too, so no worries there. But then I went to a movie and was really thirsty. So in the movie I got some ice tea and sipped at it, but immediately felt like I was "dumping", even though the wait was at least 45 minutes if not more after meal. Is this normal at my stage? Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Any insight would be appreciated, cos it is summer and sometimes, having known this issue, i'd almost skip a meal just to get a cold drink! Thanks

    Body fat?

So how do you guys take a reliable body fat reading?

    Body fat?

Hi, thanks. I have heard this before; how do you measure your BF then, and get a reliable result?

    Body fat?

By the way, I forgot to say that my Aria says my body weight went up this week (!) by 2.2%. What gives?! Have been eating healthy!
  10. Hi all, so I'm about 6 weeks post op and have lost a whopping 24 kilos so far (!). So no complaints there. I am weighing myself with a Fitbit Aria, which I highly recommend to anybody. If you don't know what it is, check it out. I have noticed that despite my weight loss, my body fat percentage (as taken daily by the Aria), remains always around the 30% mark (BMI 29 give or take). I work out at least twice a week (spin class), but I'm still very weak so I'm not doing "great" at the classes, but the bare minimum. How can I lose weight but no body fat percentage? Am I really just burning muscle? That sucks. Also, eating is still hard for me and I vomit often after dinner. Can't seem to grasp the eat-slow-wait-for-full-signal-chew-well mantra all that well, but I guess this will take time and discipline. But do you have any insights on why my body fat won't go down? Thanks!

    Alcohol - when?

    NUT is nutritionist, right? Thanks!

    Alcohol - when?

I am aware of all that. When I say drink, I mean on social occasions and not often. To think that I won't drink for a year is unthinkable, so my question really was: when can I drink without it sending me to the floor in spasms? Thanks
  13. Hey guys so I'm a month plus after surgery, was just wondering when I can start drinking again... Moderately, but still. You gotta live a little, right? Already lost 40 pounds in like a month!

    Protein boosts?

I wouldn't worry about building muscle any time soon. All of your food is going to go towards repairing your body and energy levels. Once you get closer to your goal weight, then you will have the surplus protein that is used in building muscle. The best you can hope for at this time is lessen the muscle loss. I know I have lost a lot of muscle and strength since surgery. But I still do light weights everytime I go to the gym to keep as much muscle mass as I can. Ok great, so do you recommend the powder just for better handling of muscle loss?

    Protein boosts?

Hey all, thanks for all this info! So I found this awesome shop down the street, and this French chain make their own. It's a 30-grams-per-scoop Protein powder and it's all from milk, and not from cheese, which the guy said was important to bring down fat levels. He also said I should drink it with Water and not add milk if I want to lose weight. Do you think that's a good one? Here's a link (might be in French, sorry): http://www.fitnessboutique.fr/nutrition-sport/whey-proteine/fitnessboutique-harder-whey-harder/prod-fitwhey750cn.html
