I am a thrifty person. Over 20 years ago, I bought a nice suit, an expensive suit, for $5 at a big and tall men's store on their last day of business. It was 6 sizes too small and there was no way I would ever fit into it, but I figured hey, for 5 bucks, I can store it in case I ever lost a bunch of weight. I kept it all these years and this morning, with almost 70# gone, dusted it off and tried it on, it fit! In a twist of fashion fate, it is of a style that had gone out of fashion, but now is back in fashion, looks right in style. Woo-hoo!

I was sleeved June 10. Loving it! So much easier than I expected. Very little pain and no nausea. Was hard to get in and out of bed at first (those sore stomach muscles but that went away yesterday. Other than a little soresness from my daily injections, I feel great. The post surgery Water gain was frustrating but now that it is gone I've lost an additional 7 lbs bring in my total weight loss to 39 pounds so far. I'm enjoying the Protein shakes and I'm never hungry. Every day I find clothes in my closet that are too large -- and clothes that I had saved from many years ago that now fit me. This is fun! So, I hope those of you about to be sleeved also have a great experience!

I'm keeping mine where I can see it each day to provide extra motivation. (You can also use the site to track your weight. You can ignore their diet and products.)

Hi everyone, I like buddies too! Had my surgery on 6/17. First week has been very rough! Very emotional but I think it's getting better now.

Hi all I'm newbie here ???? I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Nancy and will be having gastric bypass surgery on June 24th. I'm 39 and have been overweight for half of my life. In my late 20's lost over 110 lbs on Weight Watchers. Then very shortly after got married and pregnant and gained all my weight back plus 50 lbs more... it's been a long almost 10 years yo yo dieting to get the weight off...nothing has worked. With my health getting bad high BP, sleep apnea and Intercranial Hypertension. The surgery is the final straw to get my health and life back. I'm very excited and scared at the same time. So happy I found this forum for support and information... Good Night all.... ????????????

It feels good to know there is a place where you can share your successes and know that the people on this board get it. Congratulations!!!

Thank you so much everyone. My family said good job but only because it's the right thing to say. They didn't really care much. I think it's because they still view surgery as the easy way out and are all heavy. So also loosing this weight means I'm breaking a family norm and it's uncomfortable for them.
I'm gragrateful to have you all and the support I truly need

chines66, I think it's normal to be nervous. Think about the benefits and rewards. Hang in there. You're not alone!

Mine went away when I went to soft foods. Until then I would suck on a mint. I think they are Ice Breakers. Cinnamon and Wintergreen was the best for me. They were really strong. I would normally throw the second half away.

It's linked in my signature, but the website is themeiamnow.blogspot.com. I started it in Jan 2013 right before/after my first pre-op appointment (which ended up being 9 months before surgery). I've tried to update it at least 1 time a week since then and I'm now 22 months post op. I've also tried to be as honest as possible...the good and the bad. I'm glad others are finding it helpful, because that is why I did it.

congratulations this is surely something I can't wait to reach as well. A far as your other loved ones just try to guide them down the right path hopefully they will see for themselves and want to make a change.

B4 and after 3 months

So, today we took a lot of Father's Day pictures with the family. For the first time in many many years I did not try to hide behind other people. Looking at the pictures later, I was so glad that I didn't look "fat" to myself in them. However, it made me sad to see the other family members, who I love so dearly, that are now bigger than I am. I used to be the biggest one in the pictures... and now I'm not. But for some reason I do not get any joy from that. I love my family and I want us all to be healthy...

the only change I have is that I used to despise chicken broth. Now I can't seem to get enough!

I was sleeved on the 8th and I have been mostly pain free just hungry! I can have eggs Wednesday and I can't wait! Hope you all are getting better everyday too!

I'm on the other side of the sweet taste. I had serious sugar cravings before. Now I'm craving spicy. Never liked spicy before, and have craved no sugar at all.

The regular size blood pressure cuff fits! I'm three weeks out and down 24 pounds.

I went in to my surg's office to pick up some more Protein that I can't find anywhere else, and to schedule my 1 year appointment for next month, and the lady comes up from that back and said "I saw you walk in and I had to ask, would you like to do a testimonial for us?" I was super flattered. Of course I said yes as I am very proud of my surgeon and the work that they did, but I was headed to a first date after, so she made a note in my chart. I'll be making a video for my surgeon next month!!

Well, I just spent the day shopping for my trip next week to my banded dtr's in KS. I was a 3-4X top and 26-28 bottom before WLS. Let me tell you. I bought 16-18 tops and a 16-18 sweat outfit with a "hoodie" mind you. I was flying high. People thought I was crazy. I was turning in circles and "Yahooing" all over the place. (not quietly either) My husbsand just stood there and laughed at me. Was really fun. I didn't buy much because I still have 35-40# to go yet but what a nice feeling. Makes all the effort worth while. What a nice NSV.
