    Throwing up and really frustrated

I've had the same issue ... that is if I drink directly after a meal or eat the wrong thing and throw up, if I try and go back to solids right away I will keep throwing up. I would suggest a liquid diet for 1 or 2 days and gentling getting back to more solid foods slowly. You'll be fine ... just slow down and go back to liquids.

    6 Months & 60 Lbs down

Today is my 6 month Banniversay! I'm down 60 lbs, which is awesome. But you know that little voice inside my head wont shut up ... I'm so scared I'm going to gain the weight back. For now, I've gotten rid of all the clothing in my closet that is big for me, and yes, I worry, what if I gain it back and I need the larger size clothing again. I'm amazed at the weight loss and I'm eager to see where I am at my 1 year Banniversay.

    salads

It must be an individual thing, b/c I can't eat salad at all. It gets stuck, regardless of how much I chew. Like everything else, try one bite and see how it feels and then proceed accordingly.

    BLT ideas

how about you skip the bread entirely and use the lettuce as the bread. i started doing this when I started withe the Atkins Diet.

    pizza and the band?

I cant eat pizza at all. It all comes up within 5 minutes. It's the crust. Anything with bread is not compatible with my band. I just pick the toppings off and eat that. One day, when I am at my goal weight, I will loosen the restriction and maybe then I can have one slice of pizza.

    Bandster Hell but Losing Weight

I feel like I have been making bad food choices. The last week or so I have been more careful about what I am eating and the pace of eating and have found that I am dealing much better. I really think I was trying to sneak by pastas and breads, thinking that a small amount would be ok. It's not. If I stick the right foods and eat slowly I have no pain and no vomiting. Hungry4help: you know Mitch is very conservative with the fills ... I am very straight with him about my health and the band. I do believe though that since I have been more mindful of what and how I am eating I am not vomiting or going thru the pain.

Onederland and a pair of size 14 jeans!!!

Congrats! I am still wearing my size 16 .... but I know I can go down a size. I am nearly swimming in them and my belt is out of holes ... on the last one. WTG on the onederland! I can see it in my near future. My goodness ... I can only imagine how proud you are of yourself. You're doing it.

    Bandster Hell but Losing Weight

Amy: Although I can't quite eat I have no issues with liquids ... I can have my Protein shakes any time. I would be totally useless if I couldn't keep down liquids ... I suppose your doctors knows best ... but if you are getting weak due to lack of food, then you may need to stress that to him. Good luck!

    Bandster Hell but Losing Weight

I tend to agree with you both. It really does depend on the day and time. Some days I can eat (mushy) without any problems. Other days, forget about it. I know the throwing up cant be good. I am trying to reduce this by eating very soft foods and not trying to force it when I feel it's just not a good day to eat. I guess I am so excited with the weight loss that I am dealing with the vomiting and regurgitation. I have to say though, the liquids before and after eating has been one of the most difficult things to get over. I cant process the food much easier without any liquids before and after.
  11. I had my second fill a few weeks back, which brings me to 2 cc in a 10 cc band. Honestly, I have not able to eat much since. And what I do eat usually gets thrown up within 15 minutes. But even though I am having a hard time, I don't want to unfill ~ I am losing weight so fast now. I just wonder how long I can keep this up. Grrrr.

afraid to give away "fat clothes"????

I am going thru this right now. Do I give them away? Do I keep them? What it I gain the weight back? I figure I can start giving away the winter big clothes and work my way from there.
  13. I had a port revision last week ... actually it was more of a tubing popping out issue, but it was resolved. Now my post incision is just oozing with puss and hurts a lot. I first noticed some redness around where the larger bandaid was on top of the steri strips and removed the larger bandaid, and then today (6 six days following surgery) I took off the steri strips, b/c they were soaked in fluids and placed two huge bandaids on the port incision. I am scheduled to see the doctor on Wed morning but called today to see if he could see me earlier, as I am just about ready to take a brillo pad and scratch the hell out of the area. I told the nurse that I had removed the steri strips and she got very upset that I had done that. But seriously, they were just hanging on by a thread and soaked with all sorts of dried up blood and puss. Is this major? Removing the steri strip? Also, why would I all of sudden be allergic to the adhesive of the larger bandaid; I was okay with it for the initial surgery. What's the worse that can happen now that I have removed the steri stips? The wound is covered up.
  14. They are classifying it as a port revision ... since there is no existing classification for this procedure. The doctor is 100% sure that the insurance will cover it ... Just dealing with the insurance company, both myself and the doctor's office, has been a test of wills.
  15. For weeks the physicians assistant has been telling me that the bump protruding from my port incision is nothing more than built up fluid. Well, I went in for my 1st fill and saw the doctor and he was shocked to see that the bump is really the tubing that has popped through the muscle and is bent underneath my skin. Great, huh? The doctor said he had never seen anything like this before, and keep in mind, that this from a doctor who has been doing this surgery from the get-go. So, for the last 5 days I have been trying to deal with the insurance company ... the doctor told me to just go in tomorrow as planned (3rd scheduling) and he will deal with the insurance company. So, what gives ... ? Anyone hear about the tubing popping through underneath the port incision?
