  1. Got the best Christmas gift I could ever receive! Got my date for band to sleeve revision surgery: February 2nd, 2016! Any February sleevers out there?!
  2. Hey everyone! I'm very early in the surgery process- New patient orientation tomorrow! I was wondering if any of you would mind sharing your timeline up to surgery- Like from the time of your first orientation to the day of surgery- how long in between. I'm curious to see how it works! Thanks!
  3. I'm looking into MGH and they look like they have their stuff together. Very well organized and efficient. I live on the south shore and work in the city, so I'm sure follow care will not be a problem there. I just wasn't sure if there was one surgeon at MGh that was preferred over another!
  4. Thanks so much for the kind words- I'm glad that I am making this decision for myself and finally look like the person I feel like inside!
  5. Hi all! I'm in the process of choosing my facility for band to sleeve revision. Looking for some fellow Bostonians to guide me on where they got the best care & who their surgeon was. I originally had my band done at Beth Israel Medical Center- I was disappointed with the after care, and hoping I get some great suggestions! Thanks a bunch!

    Post surgery CrossFit questions

Hi all- I am awaiting LapBand to Sleeve revision. I currently crossfit 3-4 days per week, and I am wondering if I am going to be able to do that post surgery. It's an activity that I love and it would kill me to give it up. Also, if you did crossfit before surgery, how did you break the news to your coaches and friends at CF that you were taking the surgical route? I'm scared of what their reaction is going to be. Thanks! Amanda
  7. Hi all! I just sent in my request for a consult for LapBand to Gastric Sleeve Revision surgery! Now I have some important questions: I've been doing CrossFit for the past 2+ years & I intend on continuing after surgery. Are there any fellow crossfitters here? I am wondering how soon after surgery you went back to class & how long until you were back to lifting your pre-surgery numbers? I don't want to lose all of the progress I've made so far at CrossFit. I also am feeling very much like a failure because I couldn't lose the weight by just following a healthy eating plan and exercising. How do you deal with the crossfit critics? I haven't told anyone at my gym yet because I'm scared of their responses. Help!! Thanks! Amanda
  8. Thank you all for the advice! Sent my consult request in to Mass General & now I'm just waiting to hear back! Another question for you- how do you get over the feeling of feeling like a failure because your first surgery didn't work or you didn't succeed? In having a hard time coming to terms with feeling okay about it! Thanks again.
  9. Hello! I'm new to this site. I had Lapband surgery in 2005, with no results. I'm thinking about having it removed and possibly getting a different surgery. I'm not sure what would be best for me to look into! Anyone with a similar scenario? Thanks! -Amanda
