    Stalling so early?

I am 6 weeks post op today and i have been stalled for about 2 and a half weeks. I adjusted my protein and decreased my carbs and i finally have broke my stall. Its sad to me that i still have to "diet" hard core with carb intake but this is just how my body is. I cannot eat carbs in a normal quantitiy because I will gain weight. I just got to roll with the punches. Good Luck

Will we have to low carb for ever?

That seems pretty reasonable. I think i large part my issues have been barely getting 60 g of protein IF that much.

Will we have to low carb for ever?

Great info everyone, I need to figure something out and work on more protein. I know for a fact i do not get in that much, I might get in 60 grams and that may be why i dont lose much. I will definately kick it up a notch as well as choosing the right carbs. What is a normal amount of each to shoot for, grams of protein and carbs per day?

Will we have to low carb for ever?

I did not know that! My dr, basically tells us that we can eat what we want , just eat all a serving of Protein first, which as most know, doesnt leave much room for else! I do eat my Proteins before anything else that i usually dont have any room left. But the few local gals i know that have had the procedure done said they have not done a special diet. I was hard core atkins before i had my surgery and it worked pretty well, I had a lap band in at the time, for 10 years actually and I lost more when i would atkins than with the band itself. The band wouldnt let me eat meat so eventually, I decided to have the revision done and get the sleeve. I really did not realize that i would be on low carb the rest of my life. Its a little sad but too late now ESPECIALLY if i want to see some results. Makes me feel like i should have done more research and just gotten my LB taken out instead of the full on sleeve procedure.

    Damn scale!

I am pretty miserable about this myself... ive been between 240-243 for the past 2 weeks. its so frustrating, because logically i eat WAY less than i used to. I am almost 6 weeks post op and ive lost 17 pounds only since the day i went in to surgery. On my post op diet i lost 7 pounds so i guess a total of 27 lbs since april 16th. I feel like i am slacking. Pretty dishearting.

Band removed a year ago. Sleeve on Saturday

Well i had a lot of pain in my diaphram from the LB leaving so much scar tissue. I also had a hiatal hernia repair so those 2 factors were unique in my surgery. You definately need at least a full 7 day week to rest and feel human again. It is a major surgery, and your body will start the healing process asap. But use the rest as much as you can and do the walking at least ever couple of hours you want to walk after surgery. I am down 30 lbs as of today total and i am very happy about that. It is however not easy. Mentally you will have to reprogram yourself and your relationship with food. It is in us, we just have (most of us) unhealthy relationships with food.

Band removed a year ago. Sleeve on Saturday

I had lap-band revision as well a month ago on April 30th. I had my LB for 10 years and any issues I had during surgery were as a result of my LB. I am so happy that it is gone, and I can actually live my life with out gagging all the time. Good luck to you! You will do amazing.
