  1. Guess Babbs got banned too? That's unfortunate. Things are definitely going to be different around here.

Glad you are sticking around. Things are definitely strained around here. Too many successful folks are no longer here. It's disappointing that almost all of the people who took the time to help me along the way are no longer here.

  3. Irony........spending the last couple days shopping for a new 4K TV to take the place of a tried and true great TV in the den. Did so in hopes of getting it set up in time to watch the National Championship game on it. I even took vacation days today and tomorrow. Decided on the model....bought it.....brought it home....moved the old entertainment center out....new stuff set up. Teenage T-Rex was a hyooge help. He had me amazed at some of the 4K content he knew of on youtube...........anyway....setup and running well. Watch a movie with him and then roll into the big game. Saw kickoff.....and then woke up for the postgame interviews. DAMNITMAN !!!! Slept through it. Crap. I suck. Oh well.....thank goodness there is the DVR. My OG dog, Mollie....said she'd rewatch it with me. Watson is one hell of a QB. I'm very happy for Dabo and the Clemson Nation. Surrounded by them around here. Great day for them. Congrats.

LOL. Don't worry, Darlin.....I'm not going anywhere. I confess to being an Apple fan, too. My MacBook Air has been flawless since I bought it....iPhone and iPads, too. I love Apple gear. It works....everytime...all the time.

Generally speaking my toys have triggers on them and go boom. Every so often, though, electronics must be updated. Just bought a new washer & dryer.........figured I'd do something more fun,

My son just came home this afternoon from a week in Orlando. He was sporting shorts, swimming in an outdoor pool and loving life outside. Yup....he's back at home now and it's pouring down rain and colder than a well diggers arse. We are forecasted for snow in the morning. It's all good, though......I have plenty of coffee and a spread ready to cook in the morning when he starts to get woken up. Bring the snow.....all 1/2" of accumulation that we are likely to get, lol.

Damn......sorry that happened. I will say, though.....duct tape is a solution with lasting...issues. The great thing about pulling my chesticle muscle was for a short while I immediately forgot about my other aches and pains, lol. Much respect for you getting things done and not looking back.

  9. Gonna put this little PSA here for your benefit.....while it can provide near immediate support and restoration of function.....duct tape should not ever...ever, be used as a bandage/wrap for a sore titty. Removing that stuff was like a redneck waxing. Long story....but ouch. Damn.

@OutsideMatchInside We were certainly operating safely....and I ensured all my people were rotated out and had breaks. Well....almost all of them. I forgot to take any breaks myself. I did keep my water bottle refilled and tried to have fun with the situation. I very much believe in the "lead by example" principle......even though that seems to be an archaic concept in our facility at times. Too many political interests....too many opportunists and not enough people willing to jump in and shape the way things are headed....they just seem to want it given to them. I was proud of how my folks handled themselves and with the results we obtained.....even if the various Monday Morning Quarterbacks had other views.

Somewhere after the 5-6 hour mark, I felt a sharp pain in my right pectoral muscle. Any flexing caused a stabbing pain. It felt much better if I held it and put pressure against it....but impossible to do with a blown out right shoulder and the need to use both hands to lift. I looked around and saw a bag of clean industrial absorbent pads and a near full roll of duct tape. Shirt off....two pads held in place....I had one of my technicians wrap the tape on.....using the roll. Perfect pressure and support....immediate relief. Shirt back on and ready to roll again. It was all good for the next 7+ hours of chaos. It was all good until I made it home and headed to the shower.....and found that the tape found areas not covered by the padding. Crazy times call for crazy solutions......just beware the duct tape.

So....I was at work last night....we were having a great night.....until all hell broke loose. I work in manufacturing....supervising a department of some really great folks (and a few among them that I'd love to choke slam....but that simply wouldn't be allowed by HR). The rather elaborate conveyor system that transports finished products from my department to the next was fubar'd. Basically we were at a standstill. I opted for us to continue running and simply unload and transport everything manually. Items weigh 50-75 each. We produced 6,000+ of them last night......all manually unloaded from a chest high level and carried to a staging point where forklifts could be utilized. There were only 5 of us available....including me.

So much history together can be hyooge thing......and nothing will ever change that......what you have to ask yourself is will the future together be what you want it to be ? Could it be ? What would it take to make it so ?

Nothing will ever change the good times you've had.....are there more good times left in the tank ?

  14. I just booked a trip tonight to the South of France in July for my daughter and I...her birthdays present, my present to me for hitting goal. We both win on this one, and I finally get to travel to France with someone who actually speaks the language! Most important is the mom-daughter time before she leaves for college the next year.

Thank you all. The week was busy.....lots of driving and such. Everything went well....except for my singular contribution to the tribe's eats on Turkey Day. I botched the turkey I cooked. It was bad....as in not even dog food bad. Luckily my Sister absolutely kicked ass on making some family recipes of a recently departed Aunt Susan and some of both my Grandmother's recipes. Each bite brought back great memories of the good times spent in their company. It felt good being "home". The only missing was a total lack of hunting and football. The circumstances just didn't allow time for either. Planning a trip with my B-I-L to get after some ducks soon.

  17. Labs from last week came back... my vitamin levels are all good, and my protein indicator is acceptable, but could use to be higher, so need to focus more on protein. Rheumy labs came back with my markers slightly elevated, but not horrible. Overall, very good results.

Shytstorms occur in the world around each of us. All we can do is stand strong and weather through them. Opposing views can be productive as hell.......life would be mighty damn bland if everyone always agreed. Conflict has a spicy side that is appealing. And folks can agree to disagree....if not....then that's what parking lots are for....great places to settle disputes, lol. Or steam up the windows of a parked car............

  21. Had a wonderful evening with my TWAW girls. This group has been such an inspiration. The confidence that i have now knowing i can defend myself, whether it's physical or with a weapon is empowering. Go look them up https://thewellarmedwoman.com/

      You are locked & loaded.

I'm a simple dude when it comes to weapons....a lot of folks are scared of my left....and hell...I'm even scared of my right. LOL. Seriously, doe....when it comes to guns....I've never been let down by Glocks. A G43 in a DeSantis pocket holster is good....but my G19 in my IWB Milt Sparks Criterion rides nicely on right hip. If that's not enough then I'll boot stomp 'em with my good leg.....if I can say that I have a good leg left at this point.
