    Hello I'm new!

Sugarbabe...who knows? You would have to try it. Look at all the other crap we eat that is no sugar. No telling what is in that. I personally try to stay away from most things with soy since I have pcos. I don't need any more estrogen. The great thing about having the surgery is that no matter what you can eat you can't eat much! I also have a little half cup bowl to measure my food so I know I am not stretching my stomach. You aready dreaming about pasta but I miss cheeseburgers, soda, and popcorn.

    Hello I'm new!

Sugarbabe...I probably wouldn't buy it. If you are craving a "noodle" I would do some spaghetti squash with plain marinara sauce. I'm only 6 weeks out and still can't eat more than a few bites so pasta is not even a craving but it will be a good option later on.
  4. I know it's difficult but please don't judge your success after 3 weeks. This is a process...sometimes slow and diffucult. Are you walking? I gained 5 pounds my first week. Take your measurements because sometimes the scale doesn't show progress as fast as a tape measure.
  5. Hang in there! I was at a 2 week stall then I have lost 5 pounds since Friday. I haven't changed a thing.

    Hello I'm new!

Rsb0807 hoping you get your approval soon. I think I am doing pretty good. I already had more enervy than before. I actually work out 6 days a week. Haven't done that since high school. I didn't get hungry until about 3 weeks after surgery. Now I get hungry but I cannot eat very much. It is wonderful.

    Hello I'm new!

I was so excited when I got the call for my approval. Surgery was nothing compared to my c section (had my baby 7 weeks before suegery). The pre op.diet was awful me because I was so hungry. It was over quickly though. After surgery I was so tired and they would not let me rest. Finally took a 30 minute nap and then started walking the halls...got in 22 laps before I had the swallow test to check for leaks then I got my popsicle. Went home the next morning. I am about 6 weeks out and my biggest challenge is getting in my liquids.
  8. Mine is saying 2 years. I had a difficult time getting pregnant the 1st time and I will be 39 by the time we start trying again. Thanks!

    Hello I'm new!

Welcome. Was sleeved on 4/27 and down 30 pounds so far. Feeling great. This site has some wonderful people and advice
  10. I saw my nutritionist on Wednesday. Told her my issues. She did advise that my body has underwent so many changes so quickly (delivering a baby and then weight loss surgery) that it has to have time to catch up. Advised that stalls were very real and that this will not be the last one. Advised me to track my measurements as well as weight but not to focus on the pounds. I was going to try to not weigh for 2 weeks but every day the scale beckons me so I can't stay away from it. I have decided that I cannot let it dictate my mood. That is easier some days than others but I am trying. I am just going to keep up my workouts and eating right.

    What are you eating?

I typically have a Protein shake for Breakfast, then have either shredded chicken, tuna, or lunch meat with soft cheese for lunch. We either have chicken, fish, or shrimp for dinner. I try to get in some greek yogurt but it is hard most days. I love the refried beans! My husband adds a little jalapeno juice to thin them out a bit. YUM!
  12. Amoreno, I do consider myself lucky. I had a very easy pregnancy especially being so overweight and old. I worked with an amazing Reproductive Endo and OBGYN and their staff. We ended up conceiving naturally so that was another blessing. I was 3 weeks PP when I had my psych evaluation for the surgery. I was holding my daughter in my arms and the psychologist asked me how having a child would affect the way my husband and I eat. I said that I was going to ensure she had a healthy relationship with food unlike me. I wanted to teach her about how to treat her body. I made many mistakes in my life due to low self esteem and with each mistake I felt worse about myself. I don't want her to have to go through that. It does hurt my heart that she might have PCOS like me but I will be proactive about her health. With that being said, your daughter has a wonderful mother that is taking charge of her health. I will tell you that you have to be a bit selfish when it comes to your healthy which is hard for a mom to do. You have to take the time out to shop for the right foods, take your time when eating, and take time to work out. I struggle with this, but this is an investment in your future with her. Good luck on your journey! She will be so thankful you did this when she is walking across the stage to graduate, or walking down the aisle, or looking down at her own child, or just when she needs to talk to mom.
  13. I hit my 1st stall as well. Was sleeved on 4/27 down 26 pounds. No loss in 2 weeks. This is also when I upped my exercise regimen. Doctor says I am not getting enough calories but no clue on how to fit more into my day. A lady that came into my office lost 63 pounds in 7 weeks. I am so jealous! It is hard not to be. My husband has lost 50 in 2 months. I work out twice as much as he does and eat fewer calories. I had my baby 7 weeks before surgery so I am hoping that some of it is just hormonal and will go away. I actually cry everyday that I weigh and the scale hasn't moved. It is seriously affecting my moods. I am going to not weigh for 2 weeks to hopefully alleviate that.
  14. I totally felt this way too. It totally changes when you move to real food. I still feel like I could just go and eat anything...this is not the case. I get so hungry, then I sit down to eat, and can only eat 5 bites of food. My co workers just stare in amazement at how little I eat.

    One month post op

I was sleeved on 4/27 and down 26 pounds from surgery date. I haven't lost any the past 2 weeks. In fact I gained a pound last week and it took me a week to re-lose it. I am eating 400 to 500 calories a day and for the past 2 weeks have been working out 6 days a week. Most days I do not get anywhere near my Protein goal or Water goal. Doc said to eat 800 to 1000 calories but there is just no way right now. I get hungry, really hungry even but sometimes I can't get when I am hungry and buy the time I get to eat I am no longer hungry. Or I can only eat 5 bites. I want the food I used to eat but I know it is a bad idea. I also think of my sore muscles and know how hard I am working so it really is not much of a struggle. I do really miss soda though.
  16. My own mother told me that I would never find a husband because I was fat. At 35 years old and at my highest weight (almost) I got married to the love of my life. It took us almost 2 years to conceive our daughter due to PCOS and polyps. I was worried my entire pregnancy that I would lose her because of the higher risks associated with my weight, PCOS, and age. During that time my husband and I decided we needed to make a change. He got diagnosed with high blood pressure and high cholesterol so we started the surgery process. He had it when our daughter was 3 weeks old and I had it when she was 7 weeks old. If we are lucky enough to have another baby I want to at least be fit.

    Recommended Fitness Trackers?

I really liked that feature of the Vivo. It was also cheaper than the fitbit, but it is not compatible with my phone.

    Recommended Fitness Trackers?

I bought a fitbit charge based on recommendations from friends. It should be here today.

How long were you off work?

I was off for one week.

  21. I believe stalls are real. I am about 5 weeks post op and haven't lost anything in almost 2 weeks. I work out 6 days a week: zumba, body pump, aquacize, and jogging. I am also active on weekends. I eat 400 to 500 calories a day mostly Protein (fish, shrimp, protein shakes). I burn more calories a day than I eat. It's just crazy.

    Who Are You?

I am Amanda, a 37 year old first time mom, wife, office manager, and grad student. I have been overweight almost my whole life. I was a normal weight during high school and most of college. After that it was an endless cycle of gains and losses. I married the love of my life in 2012. Started having very painful cycles and finally after 6 months I went to the doctor. I was diagnosed with PCOS. Started seeing Reproductive Endocrinologist in December of 2013. In March of 2014 had surgery to remove polyps, in April those came back with hyperplasia. Did 6 weeks of hormone therapy. Then, had my positive pregnancy test on July 13 of 2014. My baby was born in March of this year. When I found out I was pregnant my hubby started researching weight loss surgery. His weight had crept up to 360 pounds. We started the process of what we needed to do for insurance. I got up to 294 during my pregnancy (was 270 pre-pregnancy). Husband had his surgery. I was going to wait a little to have mine since I just went through a c-section. However, we found out our insurance was changing on May 1 so our doctor's office kept on our insurance company and I got approved. Had surgery April 27, 2015. I am down to 229 (had lost down to 255 prior to surgery). My recovery was not bad. I did take a week off from work. The first few days were the worst. It hurt to drink water! Things are better now. I've been working out since 2 weeks post-op. I now work out 6 days a week-Zumba, Aquacize, Body pump, and jogging. I eat about 400 to 500 calories a day. My weight loss has slowed the past couple of weeks. I am seeing my nutritionist tomorrow to talk about it. I don't regret the surgery, but I have had my days where I questioned it. The good thing is that when I get discouraged I can't eat like I used to. I want to be healthy for my daughter. I want to feel better and look better. I want my relationship with food to be better. I believe this surgery will help me.
  23. Oh my goodness! I am here! Lost 40 pounds pre op. Had surgery on 4/27/15. I've only lost 25 pounds. I work out 6 days a week and eat 400 to 500 calories a day. I haven't lost any in almost 2 weeks. So discouraged.
