  1. YOU CAN DO IT! you have a whole team of us behind you!
  2. just to chime in, in my head i was celebrating normal food again only because i felt so left out of everything , picnics, parties etc. we as a society associate food with fun and friends and family (at least my society in my head) once i got food i didnt want it anymore, my tummy wasnt ready and I learned quickly. my nutritionist told me i could do thin crust veggie pizza with no cheese, tried it out at 6 weeks and had one piece and was full and satsfied, the next day i had another piece and my husband killed off the rest my point i guess is one piece of pizza didnt ruin my loss or my energy, actually made me feel "normal" again. so yes i had pizza and yes in my head i celebrated it, even though i had the burps all night the 248 lb me would have eaten a whole pepperoni pizza WITH breadsticks...so Celebrate if it makes you smile
  3. @@Prater77 if you click on my name you can get the option to add me

  5. thank you for this!
  6. I dated a lot! but got lucky and fell in love with a friend of mine, that one day we just looked at each other and said why aren't we dating?? and he literally never left lol just be you! the right one will come along
  7. i am post op but always looking to make new friends! you def create a bond with people who get sleeved, before my surgery I just wanted to talk about it, mourn my food and my body....its hard to explain to non sleevers! all of you feel free to add me as a friend we can chat and I'm a great listener! I am in Texas btw
  8. congrats on your date of surgery! i cant talk about Dr Curry but i can talk about nerves! i was so anxious the day of surgery i cried for hours before! i couldnt sleep and i couldnt do anything. i was physically shaking...my sweet husband held my hand and let me cry and then the anestiologist made all my worries go away with one shot and before i knew it , it was over! just take it a minute at a time!
  9. i was cleared for workouts after two weeks but they told me to stick to walking and light jogging, no boxing or kickboxing stuff that I used to enjoy...you don't want to hurt yourself...and I also realized that I wasn't eating a lot of food, my energy levels were so much lower than they used to be. I got mad at myself for wanting to do more, but once I realized that just moving around was good enough then I was happy and calmed down good luck and congrats on your surgery!
  10. yes...all the time... i do nothing but take a few deep breaths, i get them if i drink too fast i think
  11. I slept sort of on my side the first few days, sitting up on a pile of pillows, we have a temper-pedic and it was extremely hard for me to move around comfortably. by day 5 or so i could lay on my own bed with no problem, getting up quickly was another issue! i would imagine its ok to sleep however you are comfy, i was told by my nurses to just be comfy and not to try to twist a lot in the bed...it wasnt a problem because i kept getting stuck in the middle of the bed lmao
  12. @ i agree! the forums are always full of people with questions from pre-op folks, and maybe fill out your profile so people can see your loss! i tend to seek advice from those who have lost hundreds and are maintaining it! good luck ! you can add me if you like , even though I am post op
  13. the goal of the diet was to shrink your liver (according to my surgeon) but i am certain people cheat you will be fine... congrats on your sugery
  14. congrats! and yes the gurgling reminded me of a slow moving drain! it took about a week or so for me to not feel awful when i drank Water or Protein. i did one oz every 15 min as well, rotating water and protein. i would set up shot glasses to remember lol welcome to your life!
  15. i had to do 6 months as well and then all of a sudden i was done! its such an awesome journey welcome!
  16. congrats and happy healing
  17. been there done that! i was doing way too much thinking about my surgery and then when it happened i was very "oh that was it?" no matter how much research i did i wasnt prepared for how i would feel emotionally or physically....its so different for everyone and you will adjust. you sound like you def have your head on straight! congrats on making the decision add me, I am in Texas as well
  18. soup didnt sit well with me at all, and i was told by my nutristionist not to even do it again, its a waste of calories because it slips right through a small stomach, they remind me my stomach is a funnel ..., but i know its different for everyone i am over 6 weeks out and just now hitting 4 oz of food and can barely make that, if you are overly concerned ask your surgical team and see what they think. congrats on healing!
  19. congrats on your decision! it was the best thing i have ever done for myself! and i agree, ask lots of questions, i actually starting writing them down as soon as i started my 6 months, my poor surgeon answered every one though
  20. could be a stall, but crackers and fruit snacks are a no go on my list and im on stage three, 6 weeks out....did you dr give you an eating plan?
  21. in all honesty my preop was harder for me than any healing, post op, head hunger issues i had after, i cried a lot during my preop...but i got through it and so will you and eveyrone else that does it! just a small stepping stone to your new life! congrats!
  22. i see both , my pcp and my surgery team. my pcp handles my everyday meds (which i am off of) and any non sleeve related stuff, like strep throat... and my surgery team handles blood work and weigh ins and any complications i have that i think may be related to the sleeve, heartburn, pain etc. you will learn more about that once you get there.... congrats!
  23. congrats to both of you! enjoy every second of it! your journey has just begun!!!
  24. phooey on her, haters gonna hate... dont let them get you down..i got the most support from people that knew my struggles, but even my best friend of 25+ years had nothing nice to say, and we havent spoken since my surgery...chalk it up to jealousy and envy..do whats right for YOU good luck!
