I started my journey on May 19. At which time I attended a free seminar that tells you all about the surgery options and just general information. It was very helpful in assisting me with what type of bariatric surgery that was best for me. So I will be sleeved! I had my first appointment with my surgeon back in June. My insurance requires that I take 6 months of nutrition classes. So my first class was in June. Next class takes place July 20. Then it's a busy month August with appointments to cardiologist and pulmonary. Then 3rd nutrition class plus my egd test. Every thing I go to creates excitement and nervousness at the same time. I just wanted to let everyone know that this is by no means the easy way out! Don't be discouraged! You can do this! More to follow......

I had to Stop after 2 classes because the endoscopy found a mass in my stomach, Weight loss surgery was stopped and mass removal was on, they said it was a Gist but luckily it was just a Lipoma (fatty tissue) that had to come out anyway. My Sleeve Dr. preformed the removal and the surgery was very similar to my sleeve surgery. Then I had to wait till I healed inside and out. A couple months later I was back in class and on the 26th of June had my sleeve. The time actually flew by, It seems like just yesterday that I started the process. I feel like a million bucks and down about 25lbs, but it feels like 50 in clothes so far. Besides looking like I was riddled with a machine gun from two surgery's I'm thrilled, very small price to pay for how I feel today.....Time does fly and that past will be a mere memory crowded by new thrills.

Good luck to all!

Jer

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
