Nice to meet you.  I am Gingi and I just had gastric sleeve surgery May 21,2015.

I currently call South eastern Idaho home but I a really just a girl of the world.  I have been and lived a bit of everywhere.  3 years ago I met the love of my life and settled here in Idaho.

I worked in kitchens most of my life so packing on the pounds came easy.  I also battled pcos and endometreosis.  I never had children and I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago hoping that my already healthy habits of a balanced diet and 5 days a week at the gym along with the hysterectomy would help me loose weight.  I lost inches but not weight,

Because of arthritis and fibromyalgia I had to change careers 3 years ago.  That put me out of kitchens and I thought that too would be a blessing.

I had attended OA for years and I started seeing a therapist, a dietitian and a personal trainer again to no avail.  I was frustrated and felt like a failure.  Many doctors and specialists encouraged me to see a barbaric surgeon.   I declined and left angry.  I thought I could do this on my own and if I had surgery I was weak.

I have been lucky that  my lab values are excellent and I was converting fat to muscle.  I have no heart disease and fortunately I am not diabetic...YET but I know it won't be long.

I watch the show on TLC My 600# life and used that as my motivation to keep moving, I did not want to end up in that poor of shape. I remember one day watching that show and yelling at the person in the episode that If I had been given a second chance I would not take it for granted.  That was the day I decided to see Dr Davis and change my life.

I am less than 2 weeks post op and this whole process is scary.  There are less than 10 people in my circle who really know what is happening and none of them are my parents and siblings or co workers.  I have chosen not to tell y parents and sibling and my co workers just know I had to have "some surgery".

My husband and his family are a great support.  We have chosen not to tell his daughter.

I hope that I can find friendship and support here because this journey is both wonderful and terrifying.

I go for my first post op check up in about a week and I am anxious to see the results.  I have been religious about my clear and full liquid diets. If I have not lost any weight I will be devastated.

I look forward to the future.
