  1. My surgeon is a really good surgeon. The support staff are lack luster. The chicks in the office have bad attitudes. I wasn't pleased with the after care but it doesn't really matter. I wanted a good surgery outcome and that is what I got. The rest afterwards, you can have anyone handle. Meet him and form your own opinion.
  2. @@blackgirlfat Be really careful with them, they will break off at the edges and the temples, keep them oiled with like coocnut oil or something. Sisterlocks are so pretty. I'm far too lazy for them though. Wash and go is the life for me.
  3. I think the worst thing about fat people and doctors is they blame everything wrong with you on being overweight. Like you can go with the flu and they will tell you if only you weren't morbidly obese you wouldn't have the flu, you would just a cold. Hopefully I never have to put up with that kind of drama again.
  4. @@blackgirlfat I'm not sure how your sisterlocks are going to hold up. My friend had them and since they are so small, they can break off at the root easily with healthy hair, when you have hair that is shedding, meh. Good luck. I wouldn't suggest anyone have braids, sewins etc right after surgery. If anything wigs are best so your hair can rest.
  5. @@CLN.BK brown a pound of ground beef, or turkey in a skillet, heavy bottom is better. Drain the fat add a tablespoon of this https://www.penzeys.com/online-catalog/chili-3000/c-24/p-73/pd-s (most store chili seasoning has sugar in it) Add a can of chili beans http://www.bushbeans.com/en_US/product/mild-kidney-chili-Beans Add a can of diced tomatoes Like https://www.delmonte.com/tomatoes/diced/green-pepper-and-onion so you don't have to chop Simmer for at least 30 minutes on low so the flavors meld I don't eat chili because the macros don't make sense for me, but that is the fastest and easiest way to make and you can have a child do it. It doesn't require a lot of chopping or active cooking.
  6. @@higher Chanel, Gucci, and hopefully Dior. I can't wait to sit in Saks and Neimans and have them bring me things. I want to wait until my weight is stable but I might get a couple things in the fall, they will always sell on ebay etc.
  7. I tried on jackets in Sam's club today will grabbing some meat to grill this weekend. I/My family have been members at Sam's for at least 2 decades and I could never fit the clothes there, which was always disappointing because they have real deals. The size L 12/14 jackets fit me fine (buttoned nicely etc), even though my arms are large and my boobs are ridiculous. I will probably go with that size in the fall. It is nice to be able to grab a large and not have to go for the largest size possible and pray it works. I am pretty consistently a 12/14 now, so I am going to stop with the 16s and give up on juniors plus. So now I am completely out of Plus sizes in Womens and Juniors so this is a whole new world. At 223 pounds I thought I would still solidly be in plus sizes. I think before this is all over I will be a size 8 maybe? I can't even wrap my head around that.
  8. My weight loss is going great I wrote about it a few weeks ago in this thread http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/372450-361-days-later-my-story/
  9. By the time most people pay all the copays for surgery, it is just cheaper to pay out of pocket. I would just pay instead of stressing myself out with my employer. They picked BCBS of Florida for a reason.
  10. You can make chili at home in about 10 minutes. Why bother eating out when you don't know exactly what is in it? The macros on the Panera Tomatoe basil are terrible, it is basically just empty calories unless you are adding Protein powder to it. Weight loss and maintenance is a lot easier if you cook. If you are not preparing your food you really have no idea what you are eating.
  11. Why are you obsessing about this? Why are you doing a pouch test at goal? You understand that 72 ounces of Water is 4 and a half pounds.
  12. @@happy2bjcox If you are cool with how you are eating, stay there until you are comfortable moving on. I had scrambled eggs because that was one of the first things I was allowed, even though I hate scrambled eggs. It sucked. You don't have to move stages just because you are required to.
  13. Wafers dissolve on the tongue. I never realized Methodist use grape juice! If it is just grape juice that will go down a lot easier than wine. I took communion at 3 or 4 weeks, no issues, just a little burn from the wine.
  14. I took a sip of communion wine at 3-4 weeks. Burned like the fires of hell.
  15. @@blackgirlfat How are you feeling? Are you meeting your fluid and protein goals?
  16. @@higher Well IGIGI caters to the larger ladies, so they are going to be polite to their core customer. Since people are in different stages of their weight loss I thought these charts would be helpful so here is something for everyone. There are people here that start very high, lose 200 pounds and are still plus size but now they have a shape, so this might help them. @@Cervidae Try wearing tight all black and take a picture of yourself. Sometimes we can see ourselves better in a picture than in the mirror because the picture is more abstract.
  17. When can you have soft foods? When can you meet your Protein goals without Protein shakes? It is really up to your plan and up to you/your body. Honestly you are going to need to supplement with protein every now and then for a long time. So instead of giving up protein shakes, just find something you like.
  18. Walk start walking 10 minutes or whatever your tolerance is, and increase it everyday. You can lose weight without exercise, 80-90% of weight loss is diet, not exercise. You don't have to go to a gym to exercise walking can be enough.
  19. Drinking fluids does not trigger restriction. If you have a live swallow test, you can see fluids draining into your small intestines instantly. It slides right through. If you chug, which I doubt you can do just because your throat is probably sore, you can drink too much too fast, which is why you might be burping. There is no issue with being able to drink a lot early. You are lucky, you are healing better than most. Drink all the Water you can and stay hydrated.
  20. I found this and I wanted to share it. I know a lot of people have issues with what styles suit them after losing weight.
  21. I recently ordered from Victoria's secret, and I ordered XL after reading online that VS runs small. Everything is too big
  22. No idea, I was trying to heal and I was too happy I wasn't dead.
