I got news this past friday by bcbsnc that they approved, so i called my surgeons office just to let them know and i asked what is the next step ( btw i already knew the answer which is to get a date lol). They should be calling back though since i left them a voicemail.

Yes, call the surgeons office and have them resubmit the packet for pre apporval to your insrance and since they chaned their requirements they will have to approved you. Just becasue you started before they made the change doesnt mean they wont approve. Goodluck

I would tell them i dont feel well and would apologize for not joining them but maybe next time.

I called bcbsnc to check if they got my packet and the lady said yes they approved it. I paused and asked again if it was recieved or did she really mean approved. She said i got approved for surgery ????????????????????????

My surgeons office should be sending my request for wls today. They told me that bcbsnc by law has 30 days to respond that is a really long time to approve or deny my surgery. I will be calling bcbs today to make sure they recieved my paperwork. Please wish me luck.

My surgeon said he checked for h pylori when he did my EGD. If levels of bacteria are very high when the surgery is done you are prone to ulcers.

I have to finish my 14 day antibiotic and then wait again 14 days to take a breath test and make sure the levels have gone down. But as i heard most surgeons are different.

my surgeon noticed i had high levels of bacteria in my stomach (h-pylori) when he did my EGD. I am on a 14day antibiotic, my bacteria levels have to go back down to normal before we proceed before surgery.

I have bcbsnc and they dont require much. You should be fine, good luck.

It is a requirement for the surgeon. Not the insurance company.

All my appointments have been great, i just have one last appointment tomorrow to speak about exercise. The only thing that worries me is not getting clearance by my primary care provider. I have BCBSNC and had my EGD today, everything is going smoothly.

I have a deductable of $1,000 and the rest is the percentage they are not paying. The total cost for the EGD is $3,007.55. Which once i pay the deductable, i still pay 30% which is my responsibility.

I want to be able to hike with my 7 year old son, and canoeing. Sex has never been an issue.

I have my appointment on aug 13 and want to get an idea about what we will talk about? I imagine how to work out, for how long, ect.

I have my EGD Aug 12 and am so scared. What should i wear? Any advice?

Ibhealthy2, wow 3 years? My doctor seemed ok when i mentioned i wanted to have wls. Fingers crossed

They told me to get clearance from my pcp. I spoke with my pcp this year and just asked what he thought about me getting wls and he said its a good idea and recommended me to go to a wls center. Which i have and i am aleady half way thru. But i dont know what they mean about clearance?

I contacted my surgeon and was told i need clearance from my primary care phy. And i asked them how and they told me to comtact him. I did call and they should be calling me back but hmi want to know how does one normally get clearance from the pcp?
