I'm awake! I got out at 830am. A lot of pain (gas) and shakes out of surgery but got on the pain pump and napped and just took a short walk down the, hall.

I'm just sore right now and I try to walk a such as I can to get rid of the gas pain - and walking does help!!
I feel like my main issue will be getting back on my sleeping pattern. Because I napped so much during the day, I woke up at a weird time this morning which is going to make me want to nap all day. And so the cycle will continue. But considering its my worse issue currently- I'm considering myself blessed

Hi yall - my surgery was at 9:30 and all went smoothly! My surgeon was really awesome and made it an out patient procedure I have been home since about 2:30. I've been sleeping a lot since then and taking the long way to get anything I need so I can get some extra walking in. (It's raining outside so I'm stuck doing laps in the house haha!) Right now my only issues are the trapped gas and tenderness in the incision where the stomach was pulled out. My goal right now is to just get some Water in - which is a very slow process!
Luckily my momma has been able to help me through it since she's just now starting normal food!
Happy to be on the losers bench and can't wait for everyone to join! Good luck to those who are having their surgeries soon!

I'm only the second out patient procedure my doctor has done- the first one was my mom, so since I knew the inside scoop and I'm paying for it myself I asked for it

Other then really sore ribs (from the inside out) I feel normal. Temperatures of either broth or Jello (while it's still in my mouth) start these weird mini sparks along my ribs. But for those, I could slurp down small amounts of either. The weirdest thing is I can't taste them hardly at all. I've never read any one else say that, so somewhat unexpected. Going home in a few hours!

@@bnm4 Wow!!! Congrats! I've heard that setting an alarm for every five minutes and then drinking a medicine cup full of Water every time the alarm beeps helps tremendously.
Hope you stay hydrated! Take care.
