  1. Now this is nowhere near as hard as what you guys go through on a daily basis but for each meal today I took teeny bies and chewed until liquified. It took a LONG time and my mouth was full of saliva.....with each swallow. If I was banded would this lead to sliming? Also, why no drinknig with food? That's a habit I would have to work very hard at to quit. Is it because the food will go through faster....therefore making the attempt to restrict calories pointles...or is it that things will get stuck?? Thanks again, Susan:hungry:
  2. Ok, more stupid questions, sorry. My husband and I have been talking baout this for a few days and we will have more silly questions I am sure. Ok, your "pouch" fills quickly and empties(into the remainder of your stomach) slowly via the LB so you have the "I am full" feeling and it's time to stop........BUT when the food gets to the bigger part of your stomach...it's not full anymore nor is the larger part anywhere near full....... Do you suddenly fly into a fit of unbearable hunger at that point? Susan
  3. Thanks Wheetin, I read it. I'm thinking I mean malnourished VS the word Starvation. I type faster than I think sometimes. In reading MANY posts..I am coming across some of the baddies..like any forum...and I know that when there is a gripe about the procedure or lack of success there will be a lot of posts about it. My concerns are nutrition, PBs and all the rest. Read this morning that salads are a bug problem for a lot...but not for others. Fruit...and the bread thing.....sheesh. Thanks for replying.
  4. Yes you helped, you guys are all so helpful. I will be looking for the poster above you reply in the other thread. So, it IS forced.....but, that is the tool. There is no ifs and or buts about it....you have to stop..or suffer the consequences. I get it. I still don't see where I must be getting all the extra calories from...must be portions. Susan
  5. IS the port repositioned for a tummy tuck? Does it protrude more after a tummy tuck? Susan
  6. :eek:NO BREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hungry: Are you out of your mind? I am Italian!! LOL......meant to be a funnnyy. Seriously, can;t bread be chewed thoroughly enough to be able to pass through the banded area? Thanks Susan
  7. :cryIn it's literal sense-- not getting enough nutrition to maintain weight. I understand about the restriction and the amount of food tolerated(not talking baout cheating). Stay with me a sec...please, I am not trying to be controversial. I have three friends who have had other kinds of WLS. I have thought" hey, I should just mirror them in eating and it'll work". Nope, they eat WAY too much food--they are all at least 3 years out of surgery. Sooo..if I mirrored a LB patient and chewed extra slowly and thoroughly...and stopped after so many ounces etc..it would work!? BUT...alas, I know I don't have that kind of self discipline. Getting to my question I promise.... So the LB forces us to do the above....effectively forcing starvation..and therefore losing weight?? If you CAN accomplish the results with the LB...couldn't you/we/I just do it with super strict supervision and no band?? (I get this way after a season of TBL ends......lol) Is a person getting enough of the vital nutrients with the LB? Thanks for any answers. Everytime I think I have made up my mind...I waffle. Thanks Susan<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
  8. Messge delted and moved/retyped as it's own thread, sorry. I tried to just edit it and all I got were a thousand smileys in the body of the edit...so I deleted it.
  9. Hi. I have read and searched the threads about Vitamins. I know the multi will either be Flintsone or a liquid. I, however, take more "fringe"/atypical vitamins such as: COQ-10, Ultra B complex, antioxidants, herbal blend etc. Most of these are mini horse pills. Can they be tolerated after recovery/healing with enough Water? Also, what does a stuck pill feel like? Does it pass soon enough to not worry about it? Thanks, Susan
  10. When it is hot as a witches.......*&^ outside and I have a bottle of water I know full well that I tend to swig/gulp it and can finish a small bottle in a matter of seconds. Now of course that behavior is not desireable with the LB but if it were to happen out of habit, what would it feel like? Would I have water spraying out my nose(like a salad post I read earlier)? Also, bubblies i see are not so good does that mean no Dit Coke ever again? I like the fizz. Susan
  11. Can you sleep on your stomachs post op? Can you feel the port and does it hurt? Thanks Susan
