TMI QUESTION️
No such thing as TMI in this forum... And, generally speaking, nothing going in will equate to very little coming out... As you can see, everybody is different... But at 5 days out, I'd say you're still in the 'nothing to worry about' place...

Meal prep! Who's with me?
@@Elode Yep, skin off for me too... I like the taste of the skin but I don't like the residual scales that are always there... You miss out o a few of the good fish oils this way but I'm ok with that... @@Christinamo7 Why do you and your kind (womenfolk) feel it necessary to toy with my emotions on so may levels.. This time, it's culinary teasing... Am I not nice to EVERYBODY?? Am I not wise and giving? Am I not overdoing it somewhat but at the same time, unable to stop myself?? I think that,in time, you all will see the errors of your ways... And THAT is the day I'll be shown the respect that I so richly deserve.. Or something...

Meal prep! Who's with me?
The health reason is the only reason I eat it @@Christinamo7 I don't like fish... But as discussed elsewhere, I don't get hungry - so unless I've got a craving, I eat whatever is best for me...

Friends....
I'm THE WORST person in the world to talk about other human interactions but I'll give you my current take on your query.. Just go do it... Find something you like to do... Preferably something legal.. Find a group that is already doing it... Join in.. If all those people suck, move on to another group.. Eventually you'll strike up something with someone... Use this forum as a starting place... So many people with so much in common here... Ok, it's not necessarily gonna be coffees and play dates.. But (from what I hear), an e-friend can be every bit as good as a 'real life' friend.. I reckon friends are like taxis... When you don't need one, there's hundreds around.. But when you need one - nothing!! But that may just be my bitter, realistic side showing... You'll be fine... Unless you're some sort of freak... And even then, there'll be a group somewhere for such people.. Good luck on your Quest my friend!!!

Warm Weather NSV
Flip flops were NOT what I was hoping for when I saw "Warm Weather NSV"... And for the record, here in Australia, we call flip flops thongs... And what you call thongs, we call niiiiiiiiiice (G-string actually)... Anyway... Good on you for whatever you said after 'flip flops'... I kinda lost interest once I saw that..

Newbie
I'm sleeved and I love it... I'd recommend it to anyone who would benefit from it... However... I've no idea about your situation and would therefore not be making any recommendations... You're better off talking to PROFESSIONALS who can give you advice based on research etc, rather than the (generally and mostly) anecdotal information here... Welcome to the show...

Scarring and how many incisions?
I had six incisions... Still do actually... Five are very small and hard to find amongst my hairy, saggy bits... The other is slightly larger and slightly easier to find - but still difficult.. They really are nothing...

Meal prep! Who's with me?
I've just done up 8 serves of Atlantic salmon and broccolini with a garlic, chili, anchovy and mustard sauce... That will be lunch and dinners for the week... I'd post a pic but it looks like arse... I've had to squash it into round containers so it's not good... I'll do pics once I get some different containers...

Meat ?
I'm 14 months out and STILL can't digest red meat adequately... Every now and then, when I get a hankering, I chew and chew and chew and chew and spit a lamb chop... But apart from that, it's fish and chicken... And stinkin' Protein shakes!!! Don't get me started!!!!

Anyone Else Scared?
I think about it... I don't obsess about it... I'm 14 months out and it definitely crosses my mind... But then I eat... And I realize that even now, I'm still not able to consume a cup of solids without feeling like I'm gonna sneeze... So the thought disappears for a few days... You're not alone @@Slim-Shady Not by a long shot...

"I didn't recognize you"
@@Christinamo7 @@Daisee68 Oh stop it.. (No, don't) You're making me blush.. (And I love it!!) The only catch to bailing you out is... I wanna see the pics and videos that DON'T make the news... Yeah, I'm not one for pics... I've posted one side-by-side pic in the 14 months since my op... And the classy little number that's gracing my profile... And that's because I don't see the big difference... Despite the reality of the 230+ pound loss thus far, I just don't see it.. We're strange creatures, humans.. But for the most part, we go alright...
-
"I didn't recognize you"
I've posted my theory on this in another thread at some point I think @@Daisee68 I just think we see ourselves differently than every single other person does.. I don't mean mentally or anything... I mean physically... We are THE ONLY ONE who sees us from the perspective that we do.. Ultimately, we view ourselves from the top(ish), looking down... Everyone else sees us from the front/back/side/whatever... Our view of ourselves is a completely unique angle.. Add the fact that these people don't see you every day and it's actually quite possible that these people don't recognise you.. So I say, good on you for being 'unrecognisable'... Use it to your advantage... Go out and run amok... Call me if you get into trouble... I'll bail you out..

Look! I can wear bright colors!
Another 'boy' perspective here.. Niiiiiiice... I mean, I don't turn my entire self sideways for just anyone, you know!! Plus... How can you go wrong with purple and paisley... I'd love a tie in that pattern... I already have shoes that would go with it... And yes, I'm definitely a boy of the male variety!!! I just happen to know that purple and paisley together look faaaaabulous... And even better on you... Congrats to you @@Djmohr

URGERNT HELP NEEDED
Such fluctuations are completely normal... Daily weighing will almost certainly do your head in... It's virtually impossible to gain REAL weight on what your eating 9 days post surgery... Don't forget that your body is likely still traumatized and therefore still in recovery mode... Your 'gain' could be any number of things, most likely Fluid... Is anyone else struggling with the Pre-Op Diet?
@@erinkath I'd hazard a guess that about 99% of us struggle with the pre-op diet... I did liquids for 4 weeks in the lead-up to my op.. I also 'failed' in the first week... Don't worry about it... But learn from it... Don't keep doing it and forgiving yourself... In fact, don't keep doing it at all.. The only suggestion I have is that each time you feel 'hungry', chew some ice... It hydrates you, it fills you and best of all, it can trick your body into thinking that you've eaten something because you've chewed... Your assumption that it gets easier is generally correct.. Your resolve increases and you become quite stubborn about it... And your other assumption is even more correct.. It is SO VERY WORTH IT... Good luck to you... Come in here and vent and swear and kick stuff any time you need... There's always a friendly, empathetic and non-judgmental ear floating around... Kinda...
