    Buying future clothes

As I increased my fatness, I didn't throw any of my stuff away. Fortunately it was mostly black polo shirts, with the occasional colour (shocking, I know) thrown in.. The beauty of not throwing anything away is that, as my fatness level decreases, I'm getting back into my 'old' stuff, which is virtually in 'as new' condition... Trousers are a different story tho... I've not bought any new ones at this stage and the ones I have are all now looking like I'm in an MC Hammer video..( If that's lost on anyone, Google 'U Can't Touch This' and admires some baggy arsed pants!!) I've purchased a couple of 'future' items of clothing. A 2015 Parramatte Eels NRL jersey and a couple of shirts, which are too small for me at the moment. As I'm not a massive fan of the scales, I just try the jersey on every week or so to see if I'm getting closer to getting into it.. And I am!!

    Shoe Sizes Post Op

I'm about 6 months and 120+ish (estimated) pounds post surgery and have definitely changed shoe size... My collection of 37 pairs of Converse All-Stars (Chucks) now ranges from size 13 down to size 11... I still wear the size 13's but they're a little uncomfortable... I'll not let that stop me tho... Chicks dig the interesting shoe type of ****... Don't they???

    Eating before its time ..

You'll get there... Just keep coming back in here, head to the 'Rants and Raves' section and unleash... Even if nobody replies, at least you've 'verbalised' it and got it out of your system... And just remember... We've all been there at some point... And most of us got thru it without going postal... You'll be fine...

    Eating before its time ..

I guess the simple answer is that you run the risk of complications... Just remember that there's a chance that the hunger you're experiencing is 'head hunger', not real hunger... Yes, you might be struggling, but is it really worth risking complications which could see you unable to eat properly for an extended period? Just my opinion of course... Good luck.. Kinda..

    Ughhhh

In my opinion, it's all about self-control... There are some here who will 'preach' that you should be eating only what's good and right etc for you.. There are others who will that you can eat whatever you want... I fall in between the two extremes... I was sleeved about six months ago and have found that if I can have a relax* meal once or twice a week, it makes the calorie/carbs/protein (et al) counting much easier to bear.. The reality of it all is that, once healed, you can eat whatever you choose... But it's those choices that will have the biggest effect on the success of your sleeve... No, I'm not getting preachy.. I'm simply stating (my opinion of) the truth.. So fear not... Once you're healed, you can go back to eating whatever you were eating before.. If that's what you really want to do... Kinda... *I use the word 'relax' rather than 'cheat' as I believe there is no 'cheating'. It's simply 'relaxing' and not worrying about the nutritional value.

  8. G'day kranky, I've not heard of that happening but, as I've mentioned in previous posts elsewhere, each surgeon and situation is different... Due to my weight, I was put on four weeks of liquid diet pre-op. Others I've seen have been a week or less. You're the first I've seen (in my short time here) who has had no pre-op diet. I guess you should just enjoy the freedom up until Sleeve Eve... Good luck!!! Kinda...

Two Weeks Until Surgery - Suggestions on Exercise

I'd be wary of stepping anything up before surgery, especially on the low/no carbs you're likely to be on... My thought is that you're gonna need what you have for recovery post-surgery... It may not be a great idea to smash the body up for two weeks then be tired/drained/depleted when if comes time to recover... I understand the desire to get into as much training as you can (believe me, I understand) but it may be worth thinking about the time immediately post-surgery... Of course, I'm no trainer nor am I an expert... I'm just some recovering fat dude who was given this advice when I asked the same question six months ago... Good luck with it all mate... Kinda..

Let's get to know each other!

Southern New South Wales, Australia Sleeved Feb 25 this year Not 100% sure at this stage due to not weighing in very often. My estimate is 60kg (132 pounds). Will update when I weigh in on Sep 9 I struggle with digesting Protein so I get mine from shakes. Syntrax Nectar/Matrix are my protein of choice Anything protein - Beef, lamb, chicken, fish eggs Plenty of victories thusfar. I'm back at the gym five or six days a week, planning trips, going fishing.. Just regular, every day stuff that most take for granted. Interesting fact? Ummmmmmm... Which one do I pick?? If I give away too much then the mystery will have gone... Ok, how's this.. I'm an ex-Jehovah's Witness Thanx for reading my stuff.. Kinda..

    Here fishy fishy....

I craved fish at about two weeks... So I just got some grilled fish from the take-away, chewed it and chewed it and chewed it... Sucked all the juicy flavour from it... Then spat it out... And what's most weird is... I don't like fish!!! But my body must have wanted/needed something that was in the fish... And, I've not eaten it since.. Ok, so this is probably no help to you... But I'm just one man... I did my best... Enjoy!! Kinda...

    Feeling depressed today

Holy shit!!! Mate, that's ordinary... Like others have said, I can't pretend to have any idea how you must be feeling or what you're going thru. Just know that there are some incredibly caring and helpful people here. If they can do anything, they certainly will. Please keep us updated and in the loop if that's gonna help you. Take care mate... Kinda

    Another question

Regular food will be a much different story... My experience was the same as yours for the first couple of days. However, since then (almost 6 months), I've not once felt hungry. Not at all. I've had the fancies. But I've not been genuinely hungry. My advice is - Don't stress. Once you start to eat things that will fill your sleeve a little more, I'm quite sure that you'll find yourself feeling full. And trust your surgeon/nutritionist. Talk to them... Tell them what you're feeling... They know your particular situation better than just about anyone. But keep coming back here!! Some of the folk here are so full of good advice and suggestions... Good luck to you.. Kinda..

    Weight Loss after surgery

G'day Nickkibear.. To be honest with you, I'm almost six months out and I often don't feel as if I'm losing any. I still see myself as the fat man I was before surgery, even tho I've lost over 100 pounds. I think part of the problem is that we only see ourselves as we are, not as we were. It's hard to put into words what I mean... We see ourselves EVERY DAY. Because of this, we're less likely to notice changes. It's only when we get some perspective (photos side by side, pre-op Vs now) that we see where we're really at. I know for myself that, no matter how big the changes in my clothes and my fitness etc, I still see the same old fat man every time I look in the mirror. (Admittedly, I am one of the larger members here and therefore have a long way to go.) Just stick with it... Do as your surgeon/nutritionist tells you... And when the positive comments start to come (and they will come, I assure you), listen to them... Take note of them... Pay attention to them... And remember that they're from people who see you much, much differently to the way you see yourself.. Good luck... Take care.. Kinda...

    Hungry!

Each surgeon will be different in what they allow post-op. Mine had me on flavoured milk the day after surgery and then Soups and yoghurt (no chunks in either) on day three. You're likely to get a vast array of answers in such a wide-ranging and popular forum, so the best idea would be talk to your surgeon and/or nutritionist to see what they recommend. Good luck with it all... Kinda...

    Taking the plunge

G'day Ronnie... I was sleeved in Feb and it was the first time I'd been unconscious, let alone had surgery... I was nervous... Not scared tho... And I survived!!! You'll be fine... Be as nervous as you like tho... The reality is, it's a big thing you're doing... Not the surgery so much... But the your entire existence and outlook on life may be about to change... And trust me... No matter how shitty the post-surgery diet and stuff feels, it's all totally worth it... You're doing a great thing... Enjoy it!! And if you've any questions or anything, just flick me a PM.. Kinda...

    impulse buying? sorta?

So there's your answer... That was easy!!!
  23. KindaFamiliar

    impulse buying? sorta?

It's certainly an idea.. Whether it's a good or bad one depends on you. I know many people who bought home gyms/exercise equipment with all the best intentions. Now these people have the most expensive clothes hangers ever (the unused equipment)... I toyed with the idea as well, but decided that, to start with at least, I should probably join a gym where I could not only exercise, but also make sure I was using the equipment properly. It's all well and good to have all the gear, but if you're not using it correctly, you may not only be wasting your time, but also doing yourself some damage. So I guess what I'm saying is this... If it were me, I'd invest in a gym membership and all of the advice and information that goes with it until you're educated enough to be self-sufficient.. Of course, this is just the opinion of a recovering fatman... Good luck!! Kinda...
