I'm less than a week post op and i'm doing GREAT! I've had a fantastic experience so far, i can only hope the same for future sleevers.
On to my topic: Any one else feel embarressed to tell the people in their lives that they were thinking about or even ended up having WLS? I've heard a million comments from coworkers, family, and even close friends who have said, it's the easy way out, etc. I was surprised to hear my parents advise me to not tell my extended family if it came up. But I wouldn't want to lie when they see me 100lbs lighter (here's hoping!) So since this became the right decision for me, I havent found a way to justify myself to the opinionated nay-sayers. I'm 300lbs...but I wasnt 600lbs, i was pre-diabetic, but not type 2 diabetic, etc. so i feel like I'm going to be looked at as the dude who just took the easy way out to get skinny when health was a sincere reason for surgery. I'm just having a hard time feeling the confidence in telling the people in my life that I had this surgery and i feel great already. Hope i'm not the only one feeling this way.

Costco's Premier Protein 30 grams of Protein chocolate and vanilla.... Costs $25 for 18 cans in 1 pack...The chocolate is my favorite but the vanilla is good to u can add fruit to it, mio and other flavorings to create an awesome smoothie....I've had this brand before surgery...
And I'm still drinking this brand after...it's pretty good!!!!

Hello everyone! My first post op appt is tomorrow and I should be cleared for full liquids. I can not wait!
Hiccups and sneezes are killer! I have to hold my side.

My breath is the worst. I can't stand myself and my husband keeps saying "what smells like sh*t?" Lol!

Thank you all for your well wishes - I can say that I am officially on the other side now. I can only say WOW what a road to recovery. This is day 3 post -op and my recovery has not been easy. I had the sleeve and gallbladder removal. It has been painful with the first full night of nausea and vomiting. Up until this morning I had many moments of stomach spasms that were quite painful. Walking helped and of course the meds. Hoping that it will get better from here -leaving the hospital to go home today.

Nancy w: that pain in your throat will go away soon... I had that feeling right after surgery/recovery then it went away a few hours later... Just keep sipping....so glad to hear you are doing well post as well!!!!

Chelleshocked: I'm so happy u are get ur fluids in!!!! It didn't happen right away for me but as the days go by I do notice that I am able to take a few extra sips...

Well I'm at the hospital and waiting to get rolled back for my sleeve. So excited and just ready to be post-op with my sleeve. It's be along journey getting here but I've a lot along the way????. Enjoy your day and best wishes to everyone getting sleeved today.

The hiccups were hell!!!!
I cried so much because for those damn hiccups

Had a good day so far. But the Constipation started today. Took a little magcitrate but has not kicked in yet. I am scared to take too much so soon post opp. How did i get constipated only drinking fluids. This is annoying..

Doing much better today! I have already got half my fluids and Protein in. Not feeling the "stuck" feeling today if I drank more than 2 oz in 15 mins.
My incisions are good except the big one. It's much better today but if I move wrong OUCH!
Hope everyone is healing well!

My incisions feel fine what is bothering me is my throat from the tube. It feels better when I suck on ice pops. No problems getting in my Protein and Water. Went to the grocery store today with my parents and it felt great to get out and walk around. Walking around my neighborhood okay. 6 pounds down since surgery. I can't wait to go on full fluids on Wednesday. I am going back to work on the 6th, I am actually looking forward to it.

Hi everyone!!! Day 1-4 has not been the greatest for me but I'm feeling much better today.... Been able to sip Water, protein shakes, and tea.... I find that sipping ginger and peppermint tea has been helping my horrific gas pain situation tremendously along with walking of course... I'm on Tylenol with codeine for pain every 4 hours for pain and it works well...so glad to hear everyone is ok post op!!!

I can hardly believe I am finally in the hospital all checked in. I'm so nervous- more so because I have no family with me and I feel very lonely right now. I live far from family and one of my friends was unable to be here with me. My other friend could not be here cuz she had to head back home to drive my boys back home, so I'm all alone????
On the bright side - I'm staying strong and waiting.

Nope. I know that being on the IV adds a bunch of Water weight...and the body is recovering. Weight is irrelevant right now. So, no scale for me. I will weigh myself at 1 week out. One thing that I am worried about is that a have a huge lump/swelling on my left side. It is not at an incision site. It is between the big incision and the one above it on left side...about at the bottom of my left ribs. All my bruising and swelling is pretty much gone. That particular lump, about the size of a baseball is still there. No redness, no fever...I showed it to nurse at hospital and she said not to worry, it will go away...still waiting for it to do so. No change at all yet.

Hmm. No idea what that lump is. But for the most part if there is no redness/swelling or warmth they don't worry about it. Just remember to show md at your follow up.

I have a swollen lump too! That's where the most of my pain has been. It's less swollen today, but about the size of a dinner roll. Mines in the same place on the left side so I guess we're somewhat normal??!

Not to be happy about anyone else having the lump, bit it does make me feel better!

@takeitorsleeveit: wow!!! I have to do 2 weeks all liquid... I've lost 10 lbs so far so it's not all bad I'm gonna stick with it and see how much more I can lose before the 24th.... Good luck to us all!!!
