How do you break a stall?

I don't know if there is anything that really breaks a stall but I have had 2 that both lasted about 11 days. I made sure my food was on point and my carbs were low. Get lots of water. It will eventually break

    Crossfit

Yes you can do cross fit but unless you are used to working out I would say be careful. I have seen people get injured. Just modify and make sure the instructors or trainers are attentive.

    Why?!

Fair life milk is the best. I heard about it from fellow posters on here. I mix it with my morni g shake

    Hamburgers are gross

I guess I am the opposite. I would have really never eaten a burger before surgery. I was pretty close to vegetarian. I just really did not eat alot of meat. Well that changed. I still eat alot of veggie meat products like morning star chicken patties and sausage patties. My new fave meal is a turkey burger with cheese wrapped in lettuce with mustard, tomato and a little pickle relish. So good!!

    First restaurant meal?

My first restaurant meal was grilled lemon chicken with quinoa. From Applebee. It was super tasty. I pretty much are the chicken and took a couple bites of the rest and was done

Hurts When I Eat? at 5 weeks.

I am on my week 8 and pasta would not be something I would eat at this point, that's just me though. I made lean ground turkey with onions and black olives in marinara sauce and ate that without the pasta. It was really good and satisfying.

    MILK

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015

I found john soule's grilled chicken breast strips that are super moist. You can get them at walmart, the only time I throw up so far was with a boiled egg. It got stuck and hurt so bad. Pretty sure I ate it too fast. I had just boiled it too and it was still warm so that might have had something to do with it

Still weigh more than surgery day!

Yeah I think in the beginning I had greek yogurt and then cut it out too. I do keep a little to mix with my tuna though instead of mayo. This is just my experience but I have tried lower carbs and tried upping carbs trying to break a stall and I will say that lowering the carbs did work. Not sure if it's coincidence or it really does work. I am just starting my 8th week So it really is trial and error and learning from those that are farther out.
  13. Stock up on what you can eat and drink so you are prepared. I said I would exercise and I did not have the energy. I am just now starting to exercise and I am in week 7

so far, so good... and questions!

Yeah I agree, plan for someone to stay with you for a few days just in case. Even someone to just grab you a water. Not bad I g to keep getting up and down helps

Week 1--out with in laws at restaurant

I refused to go anywhere to eat until I passed the 6 week mark so I applaud your bravery. There are good choices out there you just have to research. The o,ly food I found harder to find a healthy choice at was Mexican.

    MILK

I just went and bought the fairvlife milk everyone is talking about. I will try it tomorrow in my shake

    MILK

It just depends. I use 1 percent milk. I tried almond milk but I hated it. I love almonds but can't stand the taste of almond milk.

    Sharp pain upon inhalation?

I had the exact same thing! It lasted for several weeks. It was just part of the healing process

Still weigh more than surgery day!

I was bloated for over a week. Do measure as the others have said because I too remember being able to eat more than I should a couple of times and I ended up with the slimeys! I was permitted to have greek yogurt thinned out at 2 weeks I think

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015

I am getting a little frustrated top and am trying to stay positive. The last 3days I have gone up in weight despite doing everything right. I am up a total of almost 3 pounds. I have tried hiding my scale but I admit I am obsessed with weighing everyday. I hope I break this stall soon. I go to surgeon next Friday for check up so I hope I am down more. I started at 281, day of surgery 277 and am,now at 253.

How long did you wait to start protein shakes?

I had protein shakes starting after being released from the hospital
  23. Soapandcandlequeen

Water. Does water in shake count towards water?

Yes. My but said all liquids including milk count toward fluid goal
  24. Soapandcandlequeen

    No protein powders?!?

There is no way I would have reached my protein goal the first month without shakes. I was told after that as long as I was reaching goal I could get protein from food. I still have 1 shake a day

Having trouble deciding sleeve or bypass

I would recommend bypass based on your size. I researched quite a bit and the results are better for patients with more to lose.
