    June 15th in Tijuana.

    tension at home

You say he is worried that HE will feel guilty eating in front of you and HE won't be able to enjoy the holiday meals with you. In my past I have had men that prefer a big woman sexually. I dated a guy once that was upset that I lost 10 pounds because he prefers a BBW. When I told him I wanted to lose weight and hoped to some day be thin he broke off our relationship. He needs to do some sole searching. He needs to see this isn't about him. It's about you and your choice and your health
  3. I didn't even know there was a Men's forum.... Of course I only use the mobile app.
  4. I am scheduled for my sleeve on June 15th. I have read so many posts about people that stall along with posts about people that have slow loss and some with fast losses. It makes me want to not even weigh but maybe once a month or less after my surgery. Is there anyone else who doesn't weigh very often?

    Not Weighing

Thanks everyone! I just need to remember not to freak out if I weigh and I haven't gained. I have a bad habit of seeing a gain and giving up and bingeing. I think I will avoid the scale until the first post-op appt.
  6. AustinJackson sent me an email days ago trying to discredit Dr Lopez. He knew from previous posts I have chosen Dr Jesus Martin Lopez as my surgeon. Good thing I am used to dealing with criminals In my profession. Verify... Then act. I am confident in my decision and will be in TJ on June 15! Excited to begin this journey

You look great! How far post op are you?

    Lying to feel better?!?

When I see before and after pictures I really don't notice the "details". I see how they have reduced in size from before they began. It is always very impressive. I usually look at the face closely too simply because it amazes me how different people look in their face. I don't notice what clothes they are wearing or if they match or if they are wearing white after Labor Day.

    Bad breath

Here is a link to an article from Live Science. 80% of fat loss is exhaled through your lungs so that is part of the reason for bad breath during weight loss. So breath out those fat cells!! http://m.livescience.com/49157-how-fat-is-lost-body.html
  12. Thanks for the post! I am scheduled for surgery on June 15 and I like knowing what to expect... Good and bad. Helps prepare me. Sounds like you are doing great!

    Just getting started.

I am 51 with a bmi of 51. I have been trying to do it on my own for over 30 years and I am tired of food and tired of being big and want a life in the last half of my life. I chose the gastric sleeve because I have friends who have had it done with much success and it seems to be the safest. I am not choosing the LapBand because I had another friend that nearly died with her band. I will go for my surgery on June 15th and I am so ready that I would go tomorrow if they could get me on the schedule that soon. Whatever choice you make has to be your own. And you need to know that it will probably be the hardest thing you will ever do. But from what I have seen it could be the best thing if you follow the plan. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

"So you don't believe in living a life of moderation ? You don't think that it's possible to be enjoy those things on occasion and still be successful post surgery ? Why not have both and just find a way to incorporate the things you love as an occasional treat and eat well and stay on plan the other 80% of the time?" Band07.... I am 51 years old and my bmi is 51%. So no I don't think that it's possible to enjoy those things from time to time.... At least for me. I have been overweight since I was about 16. I have been on and off diets and each time I fail it's because I would say "just one won't hurt." I'm not saying I will never in my life have a glass of wine. A few years down the road I am sure that I will. But this thread is about people who have consumed something that their doctors have clearly said not to or it would compromise their health or success or both. Let your body heal, lose the weight, get healthy, then have the occasional glass of wine. Some of these posts want "proof" that it is harmful. Your doctor said it was. And I am sure if asked, the doctor can say why it is harmful. I am going for my surgery on June 15th and I will follow my doctors orders 100% to the letter. Because I want to heal and my kids and grandkids and friends and family have all asked me to please be safe so that I can still be here for them as well as myself.

There is a thread going called "Keep this post going things I look forward to not food related". I love a good glass of Moscato and I love a good piece of cheesecake and jelly and poptarts and snickers. But when I have my surgery on June 15th I choose to give up those things. The thread I mentioned is a great read when you are tempted. It drives the point home what we have all deprived ourselves of being overweight. We chose fat and food over playing with our kids and crossing our legs and riding roller coasters. I choose roller coasters over fat. 21. Hi, I am 51 years young 5'1", bmi of 51 with no Health issues. I am married with 8 kids, 9 grandkids and 3 of my kids still teenagers with busy school schedules. I own my own business and I live on a small ranch in central Texas. I am self-pay and am tentatively scheduled for June 15 with Dr Lopez in Tijuana. I am using BariatricPal as my coordinator and my head is spinning at how quickly and thoroughly they are handling everything. I'm very ready and excited to become a beautiful sexy mom/grandma!! My husband is very supportive but concerned because he agreed to give up smoking when I got to a size 12. He never expected I would get there. Now that I have decided on the surgery he is getting nervous! Lol.
