  1. I live in Kansas City, Mo - which is right on the state border with Kansas & I am set up with Malley Surgical Center. Since my Surgery in December 2007 I've only had the need for 2 fills. One was just 4 weeks after surgery. I wasn't tight enough & I actually went back to Mexico for that. Then my most recent fill - a whole year later. I also went to Mexico for that one as well. March came around & all of a sudden I could barley swallow liquids. I went to Malley Surgical center and they took 1/2 of a "CC" out. I'm better than I was!
  2. I was banded by Dr. Huacuz in Tiajuana,Mexico by Dr. Huacuz. I actually flew back to get a fill.... He uses fluorscopy.. I only went down there because my fill location here in the States couldn't get me in as soon as I needed. Call them (619)-270-5388.... They're really nice & will pick you up at the border or the San Diego Airport
  3. Good luck with your surgery. You're making a life changing decision. My affair with food is not the same as it used to be. It was hard the first month. But I've stopped thinking of food the way I used to. I used to look forward to eating. Now, eating is to sustain my health and nutrition. Not something I do when I'm bored or something smells really good. You will do fine. I've "tried" things I wasn't supposed to try - and I've paid for it in pain & discomfort. You will too. I said I wouldn't - the surgery was too important and lack of self control is what got me to my highest weight.... But, you will try to test the waters.... We all have. You'll learn quickly - just as quickly you eat the wrong things.
  4. Hello! Good luck in March - Have you looked at Fill Centers USA? I think they have one in Farmington, MO.... I don't know how far that is... or where it is for that matter... Do a search on Fill Centers USA - they should have a list of every state they're in and the cities.
  5. dcolston1- I was banded on Dec. 6th, and my port site pain started to go away just a few days ago. I guess it was about 15 days. So, maybe that will be your present for Christmas.... Is that pounds lost including your pre-op diet? Or pounds lost since just the surgery?
  6. Thanks everyone... I'm taking my control back today... I'm not going to "wait until after holiday.... or start after the New Year..." I'm starting today!
  7. Geez! I told myself - I'm going to follow the rules... And I did pre-surgery - I did a liquid diet for 10 days & lost 12 pounds... But, like I said, I've regressed to old ways and yummy tasting things. I know I can do it. It's easier to do the wrong things sometimes... I'm going back on liquids before I get "re-filled" on Jan. 8th...
  8. I've done that before as well Destiny79 .... I've gotta get back on track....
  9. I'm having a problem myself. I just got banded Dec. 6th - and I lost 6 pounds the first week. I'v gained 4 of them back as of today. I'm making bad choices and started regular foods high in carbs (like mashed potatoes) too soon. I don't have hardly any restriction it seems. I'm going in for a fill Jan. 8th. I'm getting that "I'll start eating the right things tomorrow..." attitude. That's what got me where I was before surgery! I'm so ashamed....
