  1. Good Day to All. Mrs Husker, my prayers and well wishes are for you. I can't even begin to image what you're going through. But it's glad to see you have a positive attitude towards this. For that's what keeps us going at times. Keep up your spirits and I will keep you in my prayers. Hope all who come back is doing well and have good results or if not just post anyway.
  2. Jeni 85, you picked a great title for our October thread. For I sure am trying to trick myself back to weight loss. I've gone on a semi liquid fast. I puree my vegetables and eat this through the day. I also have a 32oz bottle I use for Water. This way I know I've gotten at least 4 cups of water at work and get the other 4 at home. When I was having troubling getting in my water, I put some fruit juice in it, just to give it some taste. And it's working right now. I also make a fruit smoothie and take about 1/4 to 1/2 cup 2x - 3x a day. Then off to the gym 3x a week. I've only been on this since Thursday last week and I've seen some results for I can now get into a suit I wore just before the summer. I also did not replace the battery in my scale. So, I'm depending on my clothes and the tape measurer for weight loss. Well, that's all for me. Hope to read good results of others.

    Just Checking In Thanks Carol, I'm coming to grips with her gone. I think more of her everyday than before. Now I'm really going to retire next year and enjoy the rest of my life. I've been keeping up with the exercises and portion control. Weight is dropping slowly but dropping. Today I lost it for there was a farewell party for co-workers losing their jobs as of tomorrow. Emotions were high but we all put on our best faces and got through it. Tomorrow is another story. Went to the gym to counteract what I ate today. I had too much carbs. Mac salad and rice. Ate more carbs today than I do in a weeks time. Couldn't do much at the gym though. Did 15min of ellipitical and was done. :mad: Going to sleep when I log off from here. How have everyone been doing? Nite

    Good Day to All. Just an update of my friend's memorial. There was no "body" for anyone to view for she was cremated. Those who attended was very shocked and surprised at this. If it weren't for his sister having a viewing on Friday I would of not seen her. I'm also sorry now that I let my daughter go to school, for I thought she would get to see her on Saturday. But, I'm alright just coming to terms with my life without her now. It's so empty. For like I said she was my friend for the past 43 years. When I went out last night, I felt her presence there. For it was us being there together dancing and watching others have fun. Putting our heads together talking and laughing about who had on what. A woman there had on those padded "butt" panties. It was hilarious. For her skirt/dress was so tight you could see the imprint and the stitching of it. She looked like those kids who pad themselves from the beating their about to get. So, with the fact she was tipsy wth drink and high heels, she looked funny. It was the way she was walking that got people's attention to this. Well, so much for me. Life goes on and so will I.     Hi All, just checking in. I did pretty well this week. Despite the death of my best friend of 43 years. Also despite the fact that her children feels I abandoned her when she needed me the most. They have been harboring this resentment for the past 2 years. Now I know why they didn't have any and little contact w/ me. The communication was one sided. Me to them and no response from them. They should of let me know they felt this way these years. It is so bad that the daughter had a separate viewing for me and some others 'cause her brother doesn't want me to the memorial for their mother today. Can you believe that. From what I gathered this caused a rift w/ them in addition to other factors that goes along w/ making funeral arrangements. But, I thanked her and let her know that I would still like to be a part of her life and that I'll be here when and if she needs me. I'm mad and not mad w/ them. I'm just disappointed in how they handled this situation. Being the out-spoken adults they claim to be. I'm quite sure I've been bad mouthed to their friends and family. I just hope today they don't display this anger to those who ask them why I'm didn't show. Today is not the day to display to vent this. I also hope they don't take it out on my daughter who will be attending. Then of course like mothers' we are, I, will be making a call to him. But enough of my woes and thanks for reading. What progress have you made? Jeni - we all have been there. Those few pounds that just won't leave. Remember, the body is probably regrouping from what you've lost so far. And w/ us forcing more weight loss, we may be just holding up our own progress. At this time I just focus on losing inches and let the pounds take care of its self. Juli, this too shall pass. When that happens to me, it's just that I haven't had enough Protein at meal times. When I increase my protein back to 3 - 4 ounces or just eat more protein, my cravings usually stop. Also, not buying a lot of bread at one time which I tend to do. So, let's get back to the basics and see what needs to be revamped. Blessings and prayers to all.

    Hey glad you two know where to come when you need that support and motviation. You're in this slump for a while. There is something going on in your lives that you may not have control over just yet. So, your diet is going to suffer too. Now that you know you're slipping you just get control over the one thing you know you can do. Go back to the basics and start from there. Find those things that worked and stick to it for a while. I'm been back to basics for almost a week now and I'm losing the weight I put "back" on during my "out of control moment". Not new weight lose yet. So begin there and keep it moving. momlambert, you are my idol. When I think of how my two daughters are so different, I ask myself "why did I think this would be the same or easy? But, they're 17 years apart. Boy, did I get surprised. We are getting better at this mother - daughter thing. carol1951 - are you seeing a therapist for exercises yet?

    Hi All, just checking in. I went to the dr. today and he didn't feel I needed another fill. This was from the questionnaire what's completed before seeing him, I really didn't want want anyway. But since I was eating as before I thought I would need another. So, I'm really on my own to lose these extra pounds. This should be interesting. I want to lose as much as I can before the end of the year. Whatever I lose I think I will have reached my body weight goal. So, please wish me luck. How is everyone else doing?

    Good Day To Everyone. BJean, you are right when once you get into a PBing stage there's nothing you can do. It just has to take its course. But in the mean time I haven't read anyone doing anything to quicken that time. The longest mines has lasted is 45 min. Only when I try to eat everytime I feel some sought of relief. And I know when my PBing is over. I have a bubble type sensation that comes up and then I'm done. I am greatful for sites like this and others to help in this journey. This is the only site I am on. I'm quite others are just as helpful. But, this seems to be user friendly. So, I'm not looking forward to what might take place after my fill today. But, I'm just going to do liquids, broths, pureed soups till Friday to not upset the sensativity of my band. Well, let's all work with our bands for it is only a tool and we are the handlers of this tool.

    HI Everyone how are thing with you? Jeni85, glad you're safe at home. Like you I'm going tomorrow for another fill. I haven't had one since Nov. 2008. So, I'm long overdue for one. I too am eating more than a portion size. I thought I could do this without a fill but I see I can't. Hoping everyone has something good to post.

    Good Day To Everyone. I am so glad BJean that you posted this comment at this time. I am to see my dr. tomorrow for a fill. And sort of forgot about certain foods the body will not tolerate for us. The description you gave about receiving your fill resemble that of mines. We must also be reminded to chew, chew and chew some more. Keep a log of what foods are tolerable after fills so that you won't have to go through PBing. As for the pills, that's a tricky one. To get your meds in smaller pill form, may result in taking more at one time. Bummer. Most medication do not come in liquid or powder form. So what are we to do in place of taking our meds in pill form? Some of these pills start out as horse pill size. So, now what are we to do? This procedure we had done does not get us off our meds right away. I'll look for that article but from what you've written those doctors scares me. tcampbell 3 - next time just take a bite, and I mean a bite of meat. What to see if you will tolerate it before enjoying the rest of the meal. That may be one sign you may be in trouble with eating that. Also, to help with digestion is papaya pills (Tropical... can't remember the rest of the brand name). You may be able to find pineapple pills. The health food store or internet may be able to help. Also, try drinking something warm/hot before your meals. Preferably tea not so much coffee even warm water. This may help open and relax your throat for eating. So, remember to go back to the basics of eating and make the necessary adjustment to get through this. Since I've cooked and portioned our all my meals for the week, I now have to go and redo them. For most of them are foods that will require a lot of chewing and digesting. Good Luck to us all. Thanks again BJean.

    Good Day to All. josiebies - I can go along with reporting every other day or every three days results. Once a week will give us too much time to fall off and struggle to get back on and get frustrated. Do we start a new private thread on try to keep it ongoing here on this thread? Let's set a start date (I'm telling you right now, Sunday won't work for me. I cook most of my meals for the week and with the tasting of what I make, it won't fly.) Is there anyone else who would like to join? Since I don't really have buddy who needs to lose weight also, this is what I need to challenge me. Thanks for the idea. carol - in addition to the shots, did your dr. recommend the glusomaine/chroditin pills? Inquire about them before you purchase them. Use modern medicine to get your problem under control and use nature to help keep it down. Are you a heavy meat eater? Maybe cutting back on the meat, starting w/ the red meat may help. Not sure, just suggesting. Hope everyone who has come back is doing well. Have a great weekend. It's in us to do this.

    Good Evening To All, Josiebies: I remember that feeling when I couldn't eat, got the unfill and was able to eat again. But, remember at times we still have to go back to the "basics". 1. food scale - portion control. 2.protein, vegetable and carbs - balanced meals. 3. low sodium and 4. exercise. Carol: You're right it's tiring trying keep up with the execising and eating right to lose weight and keep it off. I expected to be at my goal weight by 12/2007. I was going to eat right, exercise and do it by the book. Well, here I am 2 1/2 years later still working at it. But, no matter how many times we back slide we get back and begin losing gain. Even that become trying. But, we have to do it. Even I'm going back to the basics. So, I'm expected to meet my goal by the end of the year at least. That's a 25lbs loss. So, let's go back to setting and meeting the small goals to get to the big goals. We can do this.

    Hello To All The 1st of September was a new beginning for me. I did't have any cravings and ate very little. I had an eating urge but managed to get through it. The scale didn't go up and is slow going down. But, down rather than up. Still making it to the gym, which may be keeping me from gaining more if I didn't. My September plan is to start the group personal training again, 2) get back into my step aerobic class 3) any other free classes at least 3x a week 4) and gym in the mornings. The gym opens at 6am, so I can exercise, shower and get to work from there. Well, it's a plan. What's yours for the month of September?

    Hi All. Just checking in. I'm having trouble controlling my eating. I don't see the dotor till Sept. 8, to get another fill. I know this fill will help with my eating. I've gained back more weight than at any other time. I can't fit my new size clothes. It's a good thing I didn't give away my last size pants. For they are what I'm wearing again. With the fall/winter coming I need to get back to size 16/14. For that is the size of my new clothes and I once again can wear suits rather than mix and match pieces. This time I can't blame this out of control eating on my daugter. We've been getting along swell lately. Still the age appropriate issues, but I'm not letting them unset me much. So hope you are doing better than me. And Jeni hope the rest of your trip you managed to feel better. Blessings and prayers to all in your time of need.

    Hi All, Hope you're doing well, if not fine. Right now I'm having a great time with my daughter, so my emotions are high and not stressed out by her. My eating has not been much under control so I can't blame that on her. We've been sightseeing in the city so I'm eating out alot. And of course not controlling my portion size. I am keeping up with my exercises in the mornings, so I may balance out with the weight gain. Jeni, hope by now you're feeling better. We all know, it's no fun being sick while on vacation.     Hi All, just checking in. I first want to say my daughter and I had a wonderful day yesterday. A day we haven't had like in a long time. We went to a financial seminar, lunch at Red Lobster and shopping at Sephora Beauty Store. Of course this day costed me more than I had in mind, but I enjoyed every bit of it just the same. I rec'd in the mail my referral to see the doctor. I need to see him for my regualr visit and I need a check on the Fluid in my band or get a fill. Yesterday, I ate the entire meal I had ordered. Now you know I should not of been able to do that. And I didn't even get sick. Although that was my only meal for the day. We had eaten at 12pm, so until 10pm last night I didn't eat anything else. And that was only because I wanted something to eat and not really hungry. Well, I'm on off for a few days this week, so hope to have more days like yesterday with my daughter. Minus the eating. How was your weekend? Prayers and Blessings to everyone in need this day.

    Hi Everyone, josiebies, first thanks for your workds. I try to think it this is my mothers payback. And I too wish she would come and tell me what to do. But, since she can't, I'm on my own which makes me sad for I can't talk to her for advice. Secondly, even when I over eat, I still weigh my foods. Sometimes that keep me from over eating, for I cut that portion in half. But, when it comes to the junk food, I try to stick to the serving allowance. Some time it works, sometimes it don't. Remeber, a food scale was one of the things we are told to get. So, if you haven't gotten it yet, invest in one. It doesn't have to be expensive. I hope you don't have to go the way of the drinks. You're one of the few who is losing without a fill. Continued Good Luck. Juli, when you didn't write I thought you were on your bike somewhere. But, hope you're enjoying the summer just the same. And, not only can I get into my whitepants, they are becoming tad lose. That, band being too tight is no fun. When that happened to me, my band had collasped. That is an experience, that once you have you never want to revisit that. But glad you're doing better. Ms Husker, we're here for you when you need to talk. With modern technology something will work for you. It sounds like your spirits are up more than down. I sure you have a lot of support from family and friends. That can be better than the medicine some times. I'm keeping you in my prayers. Jeni, along with increasing your Protein, you may want to buy some Biotin tablets. It doesn't come in liquids. It's good for building up the hair roots. Carol, at times when I'm not losing and I know I'm doing all the right things, I cut back on my portions or sometimes increase my portions for a week or two. The jump right back into weighing my foods and increasing my exercise. Or sometimes I don't exercise for a week or two. Then begin back again and the weight starts to come off. You'll need to figure out what it takes to break that cycle. We all have different means. Just need to figure which is ours. It feels so good to be back logging.     Thanks for your words. I have two girls also, but my 1st was not anything like my second. And they're 17 years apart in age. It's times like this when hearing others stories and support I don't feel so alone. It's just that I can't understand her reasoining. She's so busy looking at the grass on the other side, she doesn't see how green her grass looks. She sent me an e-mail which made me out to be her educational failures. Even up to now, I'm not sure if she'll make her grade. She even accused me for a lack of discipline to her. Can you imagine that. For all I've done for her, with her, about her, because of her and I'm the cause of her failure. Of course the boyfriend and her friends plays a huge part of our problems. Don't get the idea that shes a difficult child. Believe me for what we're going through some parents would call this a "walk in the park". She doesn't hang with a bad crowd, doesn't drink or smoke. And if any of her new friends are into that she cuts them lose. It's the curfew, chores and disrepect of of my authority is what's going on between us. She's 17 yrs and although she hasn't said it, I see it in her face the "famous look" of "I can't wait till I turn 18". I can't wait either but I know that's about to be another set of issues. I love my child but right now I'm not liking her. Well, thanks for reading my tale. I'm on my way to recovery so, when I vent and give another problem up to GOD, I usually can get on with my life. After all, she is a child of GOD. As to what I'm doing now. I'm feeling better already. Now to just cut back on the carbs also and I should begin to drop those lbs once more. So now I've pushed meeting my goal weight to December,2009. And I agree with you. If it wasn't for the band, only Lord knows how much I would be weighing now. And if I don't meet my goal, believe me I'm comfortable and can be happy where I'm at. I'm a size 16w and 14w depending on the cut of the clothes. I can spend the rest of my life trying to lose those last pounds. I want to weight 175lbs. My lowest was 181lbs. To just get back to that. Blessing to everyone and thanks for reading my vent. Went to the gym this morning and had oatmeal and fruits for Breakfast. So, how is everone doing?

    Hi All, just checking in. I've been reading up on everyone but had no desire to join in replying. I'm so depressed and haven't been like this is years. I've lost and gain the same 10 - 12 lbs since January this year. My daughter teenage has been stressing me out and since I'm an emotional eater this does not help me much. Just when I get it under control I lose it. Right Now, I'm trying to get control of it again. I seem to be over the junk food cravings, so I'll see how this goes. I'm still eating my portion size. But there are those times I can over board with the eating. Still making it to the gym. Just the junk food getting in my way. I'll be seeing my dr. soon. Haven't seen him in over 10 ms. I'm going for another fill. Hoping that's what I need to meet my goal weight. Wishing and praying for everyone in ill health and on their way to recovery. With prayer and due diligence we will meet our goal for whatever we are in need of at this time.

    Hello everyone, just checking in. Hope you've been well since you last logged in. Slow weight loss and slowed down in the exercising area. I did get to the gym twice so far this week. I'll get there tonight though. I've gone back to my usual way of eating. My junk food craving has not surfaced. I'll alternate between vegetarian/seitan meals and fish meals now. Having a balance between the two. I did get good at preparing vegetarian meals. How have you been doing?
