Are you keeping your surgery a secret from family and friends?
My family and close friends know. It is not a secret, but I am not broadcasting it. If someone I don't know well ask, I say "it's alot of self discipline". And it is!

Protein intake
I have a 30gr Premeir Protein drink every morning. I am just over 5 weeks post op. I also have 20gr protein added to my Water throughout the day. I eat string cheese and diced ham. I have whatever I make for dinner for the other portein. usually fish, chicken, shrimp or burger of some sort. I don't get much of anything else in because I fill up and do not have room. I eat every 2-3 hours to get it all in.

Went for my almost 5 week post op visit
I eat every 2-3 hours as of now, almost all Protein. 2-3 ounces at a time. I am trying to eat less frequently but get hungry. Everyone lose's weight at different speeds. I had over 120lbs to lose which makes a difference too.

When Could You Eat Salad and Crunchy Vegatables?
I was cleared at 5 weeks for anything I wanted and could tolerate. Have not had lettuce but had several raw veggies and they went well. I don't have many since I still get full with my Protein.

How soon after surgery could you do light work?
For that type of work, I could have done that 2-4 days post op. But I was lucky and did not have any pain or nausea.

Anybody eat Fruit?
I look at your daily meals and Snacks and do not see many if any fruits. I know they should be in small amounts, but I do not see any in most of your diets. Please explain. I would love apples but I am too close to surgery date as of now. thanks Judy

Did you let your young children visit you in the hospital?
It is up to you, but if it is only one night, get your rest and see her the next day. I slept most of the day of surgery. She will get bored at the hospital and have more fun at home. If you end up staying longer than maybe have her visit.

What rule(s) do you let yourself break?

How are the days after surgery?
You will not be a ball of fire, although everyone is different. I was very tired after surgery and needed to nap often. I stuck close to home for the first week and a half but I certainly could get around the house without difficulty. It all depends on what you plan to do.

Increasing protein in milk
My NUT said to add Powdered milk to regular milk to bump up Protein. I make it the night before and it taste great the next morning. I do not use often but nice when I do. I like it on oatmeal or ceral.

4 + weeks out and feeling regretful and hungry
I was sleeved on 4-27 also. I do not weigh myself often, actually twice since surgery. I am down 30# as of last Thursday. I was told to eat every 2-3 hours for the first 6 weeks. I do get hungry but a small amount of Protein fills me up quick. cheese has been a very good "filler" for me. And it only takes about 1 ounce. Be patient and try eating several small meals/snacks to see if that helps. Keeping in mind, calories, carbs and fat. Best of luck to you. Judy

Frustrated!
I was sleeved on 4/27 and have lost a total of 30# from pre op and post op. I think I am doing good. Keep your chin up!

Went for my almost 5 week post op visit
I am cleared to eat anything I can handle. I am down a total of 30 pounds and feel great. I lost 6 pre-op. I made Parmasean cheese crisp tonight. They are a little piece of heaven. I enjoyed chewing something crispy and it was not bad for me. Take Shredded parm cheese and put into bottom of muffin tins, just enough to cover the bottoms. bake for ABOUT 6 minutes at 300 degrees, watch carefully. They will stiffin up after they are out of oven. I suppose this is old hat to a lot of you but, just incase someone does not know. Tomorrow I am going to have a naked cheese enchilada and some Beans.

OMG week 2 and I am so hungry
Egg drop soup from your favorite Chinese resturant is like heaven..... I did strain it, not sure if you need to though.

Egg Drop Soup?
Oh my gosh, you will think you are in HEAVEN when you eat it. I know I did. Go for it and enjoy! It was my best friend.
