I skipped my PCP and started with the surgeon directly. I emailed the office for referrals etc, never saw them till after surgery.

I'd call your insurance first, see what their requirements are. Then you'll know what records you need from your PCP, if any.

Best of luck!!

I did the same. I went directly to the surgeon. I honestly only went to my pcp for my letter of medical necessity and I'm going to get medical clearance. My surgeon was able to give me referrals to see the psyc and dietitian

Unless you need a referral, not need to go see you PCP first. Call surgeon directly.

I went directly to the surgeon and they gave me a list of what i needed.

I got my 6 month weigh ins

Clearance from my PCP

nutritionist clearance

Physiatrist Clearance

Cardiac and Pulmonary

sleep Study

Endoscopy

I called my insurance and made appointments on my own and didnt need referrals

Everything took only 7 months getting surgery next week
