I have to admit I never been to a support group and probably never will. I think men would start going if they had a TV there and they only done the support group during commercial breaks.
-
Do what's best for you but I believe if you keep it on the low for awhile and then you can tell them a few weeks after the surgery.

Yes I agree protein is a must. What you can do is buy tasteless protein powder from the pharmacy and mix it with water. -

Why the Band and not sleeve?
AussieSam replied to CeeTee13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I chose the band against the sleeve because to me I didn't want to lose it overnight but over a period of time. Also I know many sleepers who stretched their sleeve over the years and put the weight back on. With the band you have that adjustable fill that can put you back on track. But most of all I didn't want anything cut out of me. -
I had mine done in 2009 and it's been great I'm still losing today and day by day im learning about it and how to work with it. All major surgeries have their problems but a lot of the time it's the fault of the person for not complying to all its rules.

A tool just as powerful as wls
AussieSam replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi bandstand not all oils will do the job try and use extra virgin oil oil a lot and buy the bottles that come in a dark colour as they are the best. Flaxseed oil is also not bad. -

Hi Lisa I didn't count this with my calorie amount as my doctor told me not to. I want to see for a week if it would make me lose more weight. I will keep you all informed. Also funny how I burned double the calories at the gym. -
Stuck at my weight?
AussieSam replied to The Journey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight loss doesn't occur on a daily basis and you won't get to your ideal weight overnight. Patience is the name of the game and it's a lifetime thing. So my advice to you would be don't weigh yourself too much exercise more sip water all day long if possible and enjoy the journey. -

AussieSam replied to AussieSam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So far my first day doing it and my body feels fantastic I havnt felt this good since surgery 6 years ago. Also I feel like I had 4000 calories when I only had 1200. Also I trained like a monster at the gym. This oil is the bomb. -
Please have in your head that you are going to succeed because when this happens you will succeed. It's all in the mind.

Full body aches after surgery?
AussieSam replied to NoBsVs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's probably just a reaction from the body after having part of it taken out but it should pass in a few days. -
I know the feeling Tri having a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil before a meal it will help the food slide easier and eat slower.
-
Sometimes the scale is deceptive try measuring your waiste or see how your clothes are fitting, if they are getting lose then it's probably just water retention.
-
If you think the surgery is gonna make you lose the weight you are very wrong. It might help you but the onus is on you to do the hard work.

Maybe I am atypical, but the sleeve didn't help with hunger
AussieSam replied to chunkyloverlovesyou's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Some things you can do to get rid of hunger include drinking lots of water, exercising, taking vitamins every morning and understanding that weight loss surgery no matter what type is a tool and no magic wand. Also check to see if it's head hunger. -
You are not over doing carbs if you take in less then that you could have liver problems remember be on a low carb diet but don't be on a no carb diet.
