I had my sleeve done yesterday in Juarez, Mexico by Dr. Rodriguez.
I was back in my room just after 2 pm. I am amazed at how good I am feeling. The only real pain I have is a bit of gas pain, which is mostly being controlled by GasX and walking.
I am so happy and ready for the next chapter of this journey and my life.

Its time for another challenge! This challenge will be beginning with the first weigh in and goal on Monday, July 13. If you want to post your name and goal weight sooner, that's fine, but it might not get added to the spreadsheet until Monday, July 13. All weigh ins will take place on Monday. The last weigh in will be Monday, September 7. This will allow a total of 9 weigh ins in all. The link for the spreadsheet is posted below.

    A Few Reminders
You will know the spreadsheet is updated once I have liked your post. Please post weigh ins here in this post only. We are all here to support each other, so questions posted here will be answered by anyone else willing to help. If you want to adjust your goal weight, just add that in any reply to this post. If you miss a weigh in, no problem! Just report back in the next week.
If you miss three or more weigh ins, I will assume that you no longer wish to continue the challenge and your name WILL BE REMOVED from the spread sheet.

This challenge is for anyone! If you didn't have surgery yet, if you just had surgery, or even if you're in maintenance and need to have some accountability, this challenge is for you!!!

Hey..I was called out in front of company executives at a little meet and greet for top performers. The woman who did it was mortified as soon as she realized it..it was not her intention to embarrass me but the words were out and everybody was staring at me.
I somehow managed to turn it into a story about a personal transformation after a huge personal loss (death of my sister) which was also true. The theme of the meeting had been transforming our business so it fit.
So, I get an"audience" with senior executives and I get the spotlight on being half my former size...peachy. I did get compliments on my inspiring story and true listening which seldom happens when a peon like me is in a crowd like that....so I guess one must look on the bright side.

The past two weeks have been really difficult. Thursday we had to put our faithful dog Maggie to sleep after a short fight with aggressive cancer. First real emotional/stressful strain since I began this journey last July. I'm a glass half full kind of person so I know that my eating was not as bad as it would have been before I started...but it was not healthy. I'm more disappointed in myself for totally not exercising the two weeks.
so this morning, I duly noted the 2.5 pound weight gain over the past two weeks, put on the running shoes and took Roxy, our remaining dog for a walk/run. As we were leaving the driveway, the man that lives across the street, whom we have a very casual relationship (we wave and say hi) says...
"I hope you don't mind me saying something (at this point I think he is going to mention that Maggie hasn't been barking at him through the bay window which was a favorite pastime of hers) but whatever you are doing it is really working! Last week I saw you and I thought you had company...I didn't recognize you!"
Just when I needed to be reminded how far I have come and that I do have the tools to go further, an almost stranger provides the spark...thanks neighbor!

The drain does not feel so bad while it's getting removed. You'll feel a million times better afterward!

McDonald's vanilla Ice Cream (didn't eat the cone)...believe I had dumping syndrome afterwards. This was 2 weeks post op, and the best negative reinforcement I've ever had!

Buying a bathing suit is exciting!
Yes. I still wear a tankini, and yes, it still has a skirt bottom but the choices are amazing!
So many colors, so many shapes, and I'm not the side show fat lady at the river/pool/ beach when I remove my cover up.
I don't even get pissed off when someone pulls out a camera and I'm in the shot or when it ends up on Facebook. Y'all know, that's HUGE.

My surgeon recommended non-strenuous activity for 4 weeks, so I've been walking 30-60 minutes at a time.
