My story will be like most....a life long struggle with fad diets and no long lasting results.
I gained all of my weight as a adult... especially after marriage and babies!  I was desperate for a life I once lived... an athlete by nature was somewhere beneath all of this. Embarking on mid 40's with 3 kids 8 and under IS my motivation.  I want to ACTIVELY LIVE! So, it was a quick decision after seeing numerous TV commercials for Barbaric Surgery.  I first visited a surgeon in January and that day I decided YES!!  Of course I put a ton of reasons why "but just not yet".  I had so many things on my calendar that I didn't want to be dealing with eating limitations.  I had to say goodbye to binge eating!!
Easter Sunday was my last throw down of no limitations!!  April 6th began my 2 weeks of shakes!! Was it hard?  Not at first but the closer I got to surgery date... I cheated as if it was the last time I would ever eat like "that"!  Surgery Date was April 17th!!  So I'm new and I'm desperate to make this work.  I found BariatricPal just today as today is my first smushy food eating day and I am scared to eat!! So I need help from others that have walked this journey.... the good the bad and the ugly!!  Lord knows how "ugly" can get when binge eating is removed! But through prayer and determination....I say.... One Day At a Time!!!
