  1. Happy 32nd Birthday LessThanMeg!

  2. Happy 31st Birthday LessThanMeg!

  3. Hi everyone I was banded on the 21st of December, and I have dutifully kept to my liquids-only post-op diet, even on Christmas Day. The gas pain was difficult for the first few days, but that's gone now. What concerns me is that I'm constantly aching where I think my port would be. Getting up from bed or from a chair is agonising, and I know it's probably from the strain on the muscles where the port is embedded. But how long does this usually last? I'm guessing I probably strained it moving around too much over Christmas. But I don't remember doing 10,000 sit ups - which is exactly what this feels like! :faint:

    Counting Down - Banding Tomorrow

Hey everyone, thank you for the replies - I'm home now, it's all over! Feeling a bit uncomfortable and queasy now, but I'm sure I'll be okay :paranoid x Meg
  5. Hey everyone, It's nearly 10pm and I'm scheduled to be at the Avenue at 7am tomorrow. I feel awful though, I really messed up my pre-op diet. Like fell of the wagon in a major way, and I'm having these irrational thoughts about how the surgeon and nurses will look at me and be able to tell and then refuse to operate! ("No band for you! Come back one year!") Crazy right? I do feel really bad though. It wasn't a lack of motivation; so much just happened to me in the two week pre-op diet period you wouldn't believe, and I was finding everything overwhelming. :help: Anyway, it should be all okay. Everyone here is such an inspiration. Wish me luck!

    Joining The Band

Thank you guys x susannah - I would love to hear more about Dr Crosthwaite, it's good to know other people's experiences with the surgeon you've chosen. He seemed like a really nice guy, and I feel lucky I'm having the lapbanding done by him at The Avenue.

    Joining The Band

Thank you for the replies ChrissyD - you're not a complete failure at all. If you could stick to a really restrictive diet then you probably wouldn't need the band! Like sewenup1 said, we can only do our best. I really hope everything goes well for you on the 17th xx

    Joining The Band

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd introduce myself - I'm being banded in a weeks time on the 21st of December (I know, I know. Total glutton for punishment) and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not actually afraid of the surgery itself, it's more the fact that I keep messing up my pre-op diet and I don't want people to think it's because I'm unmotivated, because it's not it at all, I've just got a lot of pressure at the moment and I'm finding everything a bit overwhelming. But I'm 100% sure this is what I want/need. I'm also a bit concerned about who to tell? I guess you can't know who's going to take it well and who isn't. Anyway, just wanted to say hey and thank you for all being such an inspiration xx Meg
